  • Under an order from a federal judge, San Diego County released videos taken inside Las Colinas Jail in Santee of the final hours of Elisa Serna's life.
CBS 8 along with the San Diego Union-Tribune petitioned the court for release of the video as well as internal investigations and documents. On April 12, U.S. District Judge Larry A. Burns granted that request.

How can jail staffers determine that Elisa was faking her medical condition if they are not licensed doctors?! All the staff that was involved needs to be held accountable for her death! Hope her family sues the hell out of the county and the staff get fired and charges put on them.

Nope., Definitely prosecute the staff for her. It is awful. What is almost equally awful, is that this badly addicted female would have destroyed this baby's chances. You have heard of Down's syndrome? Yeah, well this victim's actions would have almost guaranteed this child had no chance. ETOH Withdrawal of this severity only happens with severe and persistent abuse. The nurses were hacks. They need to lose their licensure over this. Prosecute away, for her. But not for this 5 week old embryo. I can almost guarantee they only discovered the pregnancy during autopsy. You don't really believe she took a pregnancy test after being "late" for 2 weeks. This is so true. No matter how much you plead, the loss of your life will always be "whoops, oh well , shouldn't have medical issues if you are going to be accused of a crime" and if not death, lifelong injury causing disability with no recourse . And this is why people do not trust the integrity of 'justice' in our disappointingly nihilistic display of 'equality' 'fairness' and 'de incentivizing criminality '

It usually depends on how much noise the family makes, whether there are people who have looked into what has happened and care more about life than covering their colleagues’ backs. You can pretend it’s because of gender… but your comment is ironic. You said nothing about this lady’s death; you essentially ignored it to say “happens to others too so…”. Some people think all people matter; you don’t seem to be such a person.

Imagine slowly dying inside of a cell all alone and those that are supposed to help you think your faking your illness and leave you for dead 😵 that poor woman she didn’t deserve that may she rest in peace and I hope her family gets everything which will never be enough to repay the innocence’s of this life slained but never forgotten

Do people with addictions get prosecuted when their child is born with fetal alcohol syndrome, or withdrawal symptoms, and if it's a miscarriage due to the addiction do they get murder charges?

Nice…gang tats. I’m sure her being an alcoholic was great for her unborn baby. I’m sure her family is gonna cry to the media oh how she was going to do great things in life blah blah blah. What’s not mentioned is the intake medical questions that were asked of her and what did she tell the deputies. I feel bad but honestly her unborn baby was surely going to have developmental issues due to her alcoholism. Now the attorneys are going to be lined up wanting a payday. 😊

No one said that she's innocently jailed, don't just comment because you can, you don't have to do what she did to end up in jail in a blink of an eye, your life can turn around and change even without you being at fault, you're not an exception of anything bad happening and being jailed!

@@sweetkitty511 A lack of compassion and poor perception on behalf of these people. I've met plenty that threaten people with handcuffs but would rarely last a few minutes with them on without breaking out in tears and having a panic attack even. People act tough under false pretenses and wonder how they would act in a jail setting as they act tough behind their pcs.
