So to clear this up now, I am very aware of what Vitiligo is but I accidentally showed the vitiligo slider when talking about Duergar scarring. Simple editing mistake. Hey Wolfheart, was this footage sent to you and other content creators to use or was it mostly just for Kotaku's article originally? Just curious if we can be expecting Larian to send out new footage for creators like yourself!
Why would they put a skin condition in the game that is an obvious disfigurement? People used to get aborted for being born with it. That's like letting you play as someone with down syndrome, or multiple sclerosis, or a host of other horrible things. Vitiligo is not like it is portrayed in Hollywood, like Michael Jackson the pedophile, said he had it to lie about his skin bleaching to try to turn himself white, because he hated being black. Real Vitiligo has ugly skin lesions, warts, weird gnarled bumps and whorls of skin that grows at very different thickness levels. My neighbor has it, and he can barely leave his house, he is miserable.
So true! I feel like a dog looking at a juicy bone so close that you could almost taste it. Have you decided who or what is going to be your first play through?
Same. I go back to old classics, Heroes of Might and Magic 3, Diablo 2, X Com terror from the deep, Dragon Age Origins and DOS2. I know this game will get added to my list of classics

As someone that loves character creators, glad to get an indepth look at this. Probably won't prevent me from taking an hour to make my character, but this is still really appreciated lmao
When you said you were going to be a bit irregular for streams you definitely weren't referring to the continual stream of content leading up to release. Happy we made it to this point and for what's ahead for your channel and wolfpack. The rocketship is about to take off.

This is true but do note that I am the one who added the music in this video lol Even the non commentary parts. For some reason the footage didn't have any music in it.

you conviced me of playing baldur's gate 3 with all of your vids! this game looks soo beautifull! never heard of it till yesterday! even watching the lore video you made! Keep up the good work! ( best regards, a new sub!) will wait for full release
one suggestion to do during Early access is to play a very evil character. There is a complete evil playthrough if you want to go that route. I never do in my main playthroughs of games so it was fun to go that path during EA.
Have fun! This game has 17,000 confirmed ending variations. Has 2 million words (which is twice as much as the Mass Effect Trilogy). And has 174 hours of cinematic cutscenes from different decisions (over twice the length of all seasons of Game of Thrones).

We're so close to release now. Thanks to some of your videos over the years I've been able to simultaneously hold off on buying the game early (and potentially get sick of playing the unfinished game) and also rekindle my excitement without diving too deeply into the material pre-release.
Dude you are making some of the best content for BG3, got me so hyped to play it and I can tell you are working hard to make great quality content. Keep it up and hoping your channel blows up more!

It is kind of funny. I know what I want my first character to be. However, given how much time and effort they put into making this character creation screen. I'm gonna have to spend hours just looking at every possible permutation, it seems. Thank you for keeping us updated.
My first character will probably be a Half-Elf Ranger but I sure as hell will be spending at least an hour going through looks for a Dragonborn Sorceror first. The lack of a Shadow Dragon is a slap in the face insult to everyone that ruins the game because the Shadow Dragon is the best dragon and how could Larian do that but there's still some pretty cool looks going on. There's a Bronze (Brass?) Dragon crest there that looks awesome in black.
@sokar_rostau Pretty sure a Shadow Dragon in modern DnD lore is just any dragon corrupted by the Shadowfell, and 5E doesn't exactly have a Shadow Dragon option for Dragonborn or Sorcerers because of that. There's a template in the Monster Manual that you can slap on any dragon but that's it.
@@PSIworld13 Because WotC shat on the FR with 4e and it never recovered. Because they hate fun. And you. And they definitely hate you being the best of all dragons.
@sokar_rostau To be fair, 5e reversed at least a lot of the worst changes of the 4e Spellplague with the Second Sundering; the Timeskip just made things more complicated. And it added some potential hooks, with the dead 3 being alive again; I feel like the Dark Urge's story will most likely touch upon that aspect the most, since I feel like he may have a connection to Bhaal.
I really hope some of the modders can get a encumberance mod going, because that's the only thing that I will most likely install the second it is available. I am an avid hoarder (who isn't right?) and I really want to pick up everything and not having to go back every 5minutes to camp to put items in the stash. Thanks for the video Wolf! :D
You can right-click on items in your inventory and just send the food/items right back to camp on-the-fly (I send all my food back just to save weight) But I wish I don't have to right-click every single item to send it back, hope they add in a multi-select feature in the final game.
That would be awesome but I don't think it is. I asked one of the devs at the panel about the variant human and they said they are not doing it for now. Feel like he would have mentioned to me that the regular human gets a feat

Loving the videos! Like others have said, they are keeping me sane at the moment while I wait till August 3rd. I now know that my first playthrough is going to be a Seldarine Drow Lore Bard, but I'm not sure how much playing time I will get on the first day due to being stuck at character creation for hours now.
I barely started the video but holy shit. I'm beginning to be hyped ALOT. (Yeah I've only started to really follow the game since they announced the release date) this game seems to have everything I was looking for in an RPG since for a long time! I always tell myself to not pre-order games anymore but this one makes my fingers itchy 😂

Definitely preorder this one! Like chillithid (great name) said, you get the Digital Deluxe Edition upgrade free instead of it costing an extra 20 bucks or so.
I love the new interface of the character creator, but I still wish they would open deity selection for every class. I know I'm nitpicking, but gods are kind of a big thing in the Forgotten Realms setting, after all, and Larian already has the technical parts for it in the game. Anyway, hopefully there will be mods for that. Still it seems like the game will be awesome! Can't wait for August 3!
I think they didnt add it becuase they knew they wouldnt have the time to be able to add reactivity to it in dialogue compared to clerics which is a class but would be nice

@@Elideci would have at least liked it for paladins as well. Paladins have their tenets and oaths, but they generally swear these oaths to, you guessed it, a specific deity. That would have added a better way to handle "breaking your oath" imo as you could sometimes maybe deviate by doing something your deity might approve of while technically not aligning with your tenets. This way you could retain the deity's favour and your powers. Feels weird to RP a pally that swore an oath to a more "evil" deity and then get chastised for doing evil things.
@@davidwilks4123 I fail to see how having more choices isn't a good thing... I doubt I'll use it on any of my characters, but it's a cool thing it's there for people that want their characters to have vitiligo, either because they have it in real life so they want to create a character that looks like them or they just find it cool for whatever reason.
@@Elidec I believe I saw somewhere that there are already deity-related tags in the game. Also, if I remember correctly from my paladin playthrough, in Karlach's quest it is implied that at least the Devotion Paladin follows Tyr. Anyway, as I said, it's a minor thing, but, yeah, it would be nice as it would probably give more roleplay options.
I'm glad what we currently have for character customization isn't the final version because I found it quite basic and lacking in some aspect so this is great new for me.
"Dark Urge origin has Dark horrifying backstory" I think that all of the origin characters have that! xD I mean, they all have some super dark edgy backstory. None of them lived a normal happy life before they got taken by the Mind Flayers. :D
Thanks for this. When the human is shown, they're a Barbarian with the Acolyte background but they have skill in persuasion. It's possible humans can choose an extra skill unrelated to their class or background
Nice video, some new interesting information! Several unnoted additions: - Humans get proficiency in either Persuasion or 1 skill of their choice (which could represent the three arrows icon). - Half-Elves get shield proficiency alongside Human weapons / light armor proficiencies. I supposed Humans would get it as well, but for some reason it is missing in the Human monk's showcase (4:43), might be an oversight. - Asmodeus Tieflings get Produce Flame cantrip now instead of Thaumaturgy. - Half-Orcs and Elves get additional Perception proficiency.
I think that "glaive shield light armor" proficiency is more representative of a free skill. Half-Elves normally get two free skills, but Larian has opted for the "Half-Elf Variants" with the Elf subraces. Adding on free skill proficiency might be Larian's way of balancing out the ability score decrease. Additionally, since humans are getting their ability scores nerfed, Larian might opt for the Variant Human rules, which give a free skill proficiency and a free feat (which I think is the 2nd icon with the arrows).
I hope it's something along those lines, because if it's just a couple of weapons and armors that I would already get proficiency in by playing Fighter then chances are I won't even play Human or Half-Elf on release despite my initial plans.
One thing I always need mods for when it comes to RPGs are the hairstyles. They are never good enough in the base game. Until now it seems. Some pretty good options in there, me likey!
If you compare the human traits vs the halfling traits on the right screen 10:42 you can see on weapon prof, spears, polearms, Halberts Glaives and under skills persuasion. The halfling is missing these so I think ur right on the weapon proficiency's and i think the arrows are a free proficiency in a skill of your choice.

I like the old race ability points. Wish you could sort of pick between the +2 and +1 or the original race abilities. As you mentioned, I definitely enjoyed half elves, humans and dwarves for those extra ability points.

Half Elves and Shield Dwarves were distinctly more powerful than the other options, so I feel it’s fair to clip their wings a little. As for Humans, I’m not sure what the guy is on about, +1 to everything and getting no features was GARBAGE, especially because Half Elves essentially had a more practical version while still getting some pretty good features. This is pretty much just a buff for Humans by giving them features.
@@MayHugger could they not have just buffed a couple of others rather than make everything the same? I understand the balancing idea, but not everything is balanced and that was part of the fun. I enjoy creating builds that aren't necessarily complementary to the race. I just feel like this was done so there's no "strong races" and "weak races" for lack of a better term. Just to make some people happy who think orcs and goblins are an actual race and have real feelings.
Dude, I am so excited! I cry myself to sleep everynight until I can play this. I bought this one the first day of early access and have been playing a new playthrough every patch since.
Just a wild guess, but maybe the 3-arrows-up icon in the human racial tab means, that you can add 3 additional ability points. That would be cool, especially if one can push the universal +2/+1 to a +2/+2/+1/+1, or even a +2/+2/+2. That would redeem the now neglected choice for a human character quite a bit, IMO.

If you wanna role and they don't give you the option, just roll your own dice rather than use them for the character. I really hope, however, that they let us get a really low score. I want a 4 in CHA haha
for a game that's giving our character so much screentime i was hoping to get at least a couple of sliders to customize these 5 face presets we got..............
The lack of facial and bodymorph sliders is pretty disappointing. Having to choose between pre-set parts, and only like, two to four body types really kind of sucks and feels super limiting.
Really hope modders figure out how to introduce at least facemorphs but that seems like something that will come in the late life of this game's modding scene if ever, with how much everyone hypes up this game's customization in the visual aspect it's pretty meh tbh
The parallels between Arrows and Humans remind me of a "Levelup arrow." Additionally, humans are renowned for their fast learning abilities, suggesting that they likely accumulate experience points more rapidly.
I strongly doubt it. If it were a single arrow, maybe, but with multiple arrows pointed in several different ways, that suggests having a variety of paths/options. I suspect that it'll be a free feat and/or skill proficiency, as that is a feature for Humans in the game that BG3 is based on.
I hate that the trained skills gained via Backgrounds are locked. This isn't even the way the 2014 PHB does it. It's a needless limitation put onto RP. Despite many small annoyances like this, the game looks amazing. I can't wait to get my hands on it.
As always, loving the steady stream of new content to hold us over. Did anyone else notice that gnomes weren't shown having the darkvision icon? I'm hoping that's just because the subraces have different levels of darkvision, but dwarves also have that distinction and they had the icon on the main race...

@@davidwilks4123 Heterochromia is also a "disfigurement", yet it's much more common as customization in games and I don't see you complaining about it. Let people who have the condition enjoy themselves. Any additional customization is always welcomed. And just because someone has a condition doesn't mean they deserve to be shamed for it. It's as out of their control is it is for you to have the personality of a stubborn asshole.
Very helpful . Wolf , u and Fex have been a big help from a beginner standpoint in clarifying and explaining certain aspects or mechanics of the game to individuals like me. I am completely new to dungeons and dragons baulders gate and this style of dice mechanics and such, so the information and builds that y’all talk about and provide are very helpful. What turned me onto this game long ago was just Larian and their approach to this project. I instantaneously recognized the genuine and authentic escapism. That was the sole priority of their development process here. That is such a unfortunate rare thing and the games industry today, worse with these multi billion dollar companies which have lazy mediocre approaches that mix in profit, exploitation and relativism as their priorities, which are a detriment to both the project and consumer, and only create astronomical amounts of wasted potential. Course we, the majority of consumers have become so jaded and complacent and normalized these intentional decision-making’s and results that have allowed for it to become the bullshit it is today, but I digress. So ya , larian gained my appreciation and interest, almost instantaneously with the update reveals of this project. It screams immersive escapism that doesn’t shy away from any of those adult themes or implications. It treats you like an adult and let you take control of your character in a authentic rendition of this world. And I couldn’t be more thankful. So again, your videos are such a great help to me and understanding many areas of this game/experience beyond what I read up on in terms of the lore and such💯👍

I'm a little mixed on character creation tbh. It's good, it gives us a lot of options, and I really appreciate the genital and identity options but it's still disappointing that it leaves some things out, it's disappointing how limited the body options are, and I think it's probably getting a little more praise than is warranted with it still relying on things like premade faces that you can't modify or shape in any way. It's mostly just odd that it goes as far as it does while still having some decisions that are really dated; you'd expect them to commit fully to the bold degree of customization rather than to stop short in several areas. Lack of deity selection is another weird omission.
I totally understand your feelings here. I wonder if the lack of face structure options is due to the games cinematic nature? Perhaps it would have been a development nightmare. Not sure. With that said having body types for all races would have been nice.
@@WolfheartFPS Yeah, it's hard to say. Maybe an executive decision to the effect of "we don't want monster factory type characters in our game." Overall the creator is super cool and in depth other than a few missing staples like deity choice and wishlist items like chunkier bodies. Will undoubtedly spend hours in it.
Soon we will find out just how brave the designers were with those genital options, considering the Dragonborn exist. After all this IS Larian we are talking about. And after the bear incident? Well.
I personally do. I get why some people have problems with it, but nothing's stopping anyone from mimicking the OG system best they can. And it atleast allows me to optimise certain things more for RP purposes without sacrificing much during battles.
Honestly they should have added the +2+1 as an optional feature for anyone who wants to use it. If I want to play a standard mountain dwarf fighter, with +2 con and +2 str then that's fine but if I want to play a mountain dwarf sorcerer, I can swap them for +2 cha and +1 con or dex. Would have been much MUCH smoother creating a system that would be increasing player options instead of removing player choices.
ngl im kind of disappointed that theres not more customization. Like facial sliders mostly, like skyrim. Same with body types, more or less, everyone is built the same, with the exception of the slightly bulkier barbarian With such an emphasis on having a unique character, where the story follows you, id imagine theyd add that stuff to make it all a little more personal. beautiful game regardless
@@cloud9847 yes its not the same but ( i dont play black desert online) from what i saw for BDO it has facial slides and other sliders too maybe larian will give us more options on release? or later as a free update like in dos2?
Worth noting, at 10:43, the human barbarian depicted is listed as proficient in "Simple Weapons, Martial Weapons, Spears, Pikes, Halberds, Glaives". They only add those extra weapopn proficiencies if the base species is proficient with them a'la elf or dwarf, so yeah - apparently Hummuns get polearm proficiency baked into their core species kit. Dunno how I feel about that, but in a sneaking way I can kinda see it. Those are the weapons of peasant militias, after all.
I think Larian have to keep +1 to all abilities for Humans the optional rule for selecting which stat to put in should be fore other races. That's my opinion. Nerfing Humans needlessly like this will result in no-one playing them imo.
Maybe the 3-arrows-up icon means, that you can add 3 points to ability scores of your choice. Maybe even make the universal +2/+1 into a +2/+2/+1/+1, or even into a nice +2/+2/+2. This would redeem human as a viable character option quite a bit.
@@PjotrFrank the 3 arrows is choosing a free skill of your choice outside of class/backstory... this is basically confirmed as you can see even in this footage that they have proficiency in skills they shouldn't have when its on the human.
@@arcanumelite4853 The additional skill is not there at 4:43 though. So maybe a choice of sorts is involved. In order to pimp up human as a viable choice I doubt a single skill proficiency is enough, nor thematically fitting. Perhaps a choice of proficiency or a +1 to an ability score would reflect human versatility?
it doesnt matter... given the choice , 75 percent of players during pre-release chose some bland ass human character. The devs actually tracked it and ragged on the community for it. lol
@@tiamat_023 and? Who cares what players choose giving them the options is better than not giving them options. People pick what theyre comfortable with and often build themselves or their SO as close as possible. The fact you get upset over what people choose is concerning. Who cares if everyone wants to play a human character or a while male oh no how dare they pick something theyre familiar and comfortable with.
Am I the only one that doesn’t like the new stat system? I get the benefit of it but part of the fun is picking a race and understand their strengths and weaknesses. It added to the lore and the world for the races to have specialties.
I love games that allow you to play a main character OR your own custom character. Thats one of the reasons I fell in love with Divinity Original Sin 2. I love how Origin Characters all have their own quests and objectives. Whereas you dont reeally get a goal outside the main story unless you help these characters. I always defaulted to Ben in Divinity, but I did try to make a Dragon Knight type character. Unfortunately in Divinity it was nearly impossible, because mixing magic and physical was not really something you could do, due to the crappy armor system of enemies. I hope BG3 has a better system. The system in Divinity wouldve been better if it was jus one armor bar that was stronger or weaker depending if it was magic or physical. Having to focus on one or the other kinda dragged Divinity down a bit.

That’s a fair complaint of Divinity: Original Sin. As for Baldur’s Gate 3, the systems for the most part will be based on D&D 5e, where spells words are certainly a lot more doable and viable. Valor Bard let’s you be a frontline combatant while supporting allies. Eldritch Knight Fighter is still mostly just a Fighter but takes advantage of the utility that spells provide, making it a little more versatile and oddly tanky compared to its other subclasses. Tempest and War Cleric are probably the 2 that fit what you seem to be after the most with what we will be getting if you want a true mix of spellcasting and melee combat. Don’t worry about playing a ‘healer’ with Cleric by the way, despite how it’s often portrayed in media as a priest that heals people, while it can excel at that, in both this game and D&D it’s mostly an ass kicker that can do a bit of everything very well.
Oh goody, I make my wood elf drood. Nothing like chatting to the dog outside the tavern whilst the rest of the party is getting sloshed inside haha. Yes I actually roleplayed that in TT way back when (pre 5ed).
The class ability point rebalancing was the perfect opportunity to introduce the free feat from variant human, who lost 3 whole ability points in the change.
I dont think the attribute is a nerf, if it is based on Tasha's cauldron of everything rule where you can replace you bonus to attributes(e.g half elf +2 charisma and two +1 stat of your choice. with Tasha that would simply mean +2 charisma could also go to whatever stat you want. The rule should make all races stronger equally but not equally strong depending on your build)
You know, if you make a Drow or Duergar with vitiligo, other Drows/Duergars will accuse him of doing it on purpose, and NPCs will make jokes about his nose. The reactivity in BG3 is incredible. Though you do gain a cool movement spell called Moonwalk. ;)
its so cool to see this game getting people into D&D. Also if we go off Base D&D, the multipath thing for human is most likely a free feat at level one, going along with Variant humans in the PHB.
Bro you are on fire right now 🔥🔥🔥🙏🙏🙏 P.S. if they took the +1 to all stats away from humans, that ruins my build and excitement for what i was planning. I guess the forrest gnome sounds appealing for my lore bard giving speak with animals :)
Thanks Vlad! The past 5/6 or so years that I have been doing gaming content I feel like have all led to this specific period of time and I intend to not let it go to waste lol
It is going to be so hard to decide what class and race to pick for the first play-through. Right now leaning towards a wood elf ranger but will most likely change my mind several times before I get to actually play. I did notice that the footage of the tutorial showed a countdown till the ship crashes, this will probably stop me from trying to fight the commander to get his sword. Very interested in seeing what other changes are made from early access.
I guess one can still get the sword with the help of speed potion on the Mindflayer, but there might not be enough time to kill the other two demon along with the Mindflayer and get yourself almost lvl 3 right after you wake up😂
@@ViralC1 You can let Shadowheart give a +2 AC to the Mindflayer, then throw a speed potion to it for more attacks on the demon. Throw some health potions to the Mindflayer to heal it just so it can tank more damage from the demons. A total of 5~6 health potions should allow the Mindflayer to kill the first two demon and possibly the third one, and with only a few hp left. Also try to attack from rhe demon's back, and put down a candle to light your weapons on fire, adding some fire damage to your weapon.
@@NeverUseAnApostrophe Correct, the community event that ended recently. Spoiler alert: The community has the attention span of a caffeine addled ferret and the murderer got away.
It's not THAT in depth....it lacks basic sliders for appearance and the changes to the attributes means that most classes start out evenly. 30 mins should be about the norm and 45-60 mins for those with ADHD.
Not a huge fan of the changes to the Attributes being pick your own for everybody. I've always believed that the pick your own stat bonuses should have only been the realm of Humans, and the Variant Human should have been the standard and not the +1 across the board. It really does give the feeling of differences between the different peoples. I know there are people who want "the most optimum stats" for their *insert character build here*. I do understand why they did the change and I will still play the game because I've been waiting for a D&D Forgotten Realms based cRPG that was legitimately GOOD for quite some time. Last one I remember being even half decent was Neverwinter Nights 2 and that was 3/3.5 based. I hope they include the option to play your game with the old style ability scores so we have the option, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
honestly why does it matter though? if you think a race should have its racial attributes then just pick those. Its a QOL feature for a PvE game, it really shouldn't matter to you if someone wants to make a barbarian elf or whatevs
@@narwolez5863 on top of that it never really made much sense... as even among races not everyone in that race will be the same...i mean... why couldn't there be a very intelligent dwarf scholar who didn't have any of the normal dwarf constitution due to spending all their time in books ect... it never really make much sense that attributes were tied to races when everyone is different to some degree even within those races.
So to clear this up now, I am very aware of what Vitiligo is but I accidentally showed the vitiligo slider when talking about Duergar scarring. Simple editing mistake.
Hope you all enjoy this closer look! Hoping to get some of the unknown information cleared up sometime soon.

Hey Wolfheart, was this footage sent to you and other content creators to use or was it mostly just for Kotaku's article originally? Just curious if we can be expecting Larian to send out new footage for creators like yourself!
That wasn't obvious?

Why would they put a skin condition in the game that is an obvious disfigurement? People used to get aborted for being born with it. That's like letting you play as someone with down syndrome, or multiple sclerosis, or a host of other horrible things. Vitiligo is not like it is portrayed in Hollywood, like Michael Jackson the pedophile, said he had it to lie about his skin bleaching to try to turn himself white, because he hated being black. Real Vitiligo has ugly skin lesions, warts, weird gnarled bumps and whorls of skin that grows at very different thickness levels.
I know this game will get added to my list of classics

one suggestion to do during Early access is to play a very evil character.

Thanks!
Thank you Brian
I really hope some of the modders can get a encumberance mod going, because that's the only thing that I will most likely install the second it is available. Thanks for the video Wolf! :D
I'm a hoarder, never run into problems. But always had 4 person party. And this was before I discovered the 'send to camp' option.
You can right-click on items in your inventory and just send the food/items right back to camp on-the-fly (I send all my food back just to save weight)
But I wish I don't have to right-click every single item to send it back, hope they add in a multi-select feature in the final game.
Maybe one of those human traits is select a feat at level 1. Variant humans always have that bonus and is also in the DnD handbook
That would be awesome but I don't think it is. I asked one of the devs at the panel about the variant human and they said they are not doing it for now. Feel like he would have mentioned to me that the regular human gets a feat

Im going to spend so much time in this creator with heavy choice paralysis, just to pick my class.
Im going to love every minute of it.
You can re-spec in the game easily - the lasting choices are the race and any choices you make in-game (the effective alignment and consequences).
I'm glad what we currently have for character customization isn't the final version because I found it quite basic and lacking in some aspect so this is great new for me.
Basic? You are tripping. It's the most advanced character creation we had in a very long time - it's crazy good compared to 99% of other games.
@@lanycera Nah, the CURRENT one is very basic. The 1.0 looks INSANE.
Could have something to do with that unknown racial feature!
I hoped it might've been a free feat but yeah, probably a free skill or 2
Nice video, some new interesting information!
Several unnoted additions:
- Humans get proficiency in either Persuasion or 1 skill of their choice (which could represent the three arrows icon).
More half-orc stuff to see, at last! Thanks Wolf!
I wish they could release the CC early so i can creat my character early and not spend 3 hours on launch day creating them 😂
I think that "glaive shield light armor" proficiency is more representative of a free skill.
Nice, that's 1000x better than carry weight
Man, that would be disappointing. If all humans get is weapon and skill proficiencies, they are without question the worst race in the game.

Any race getting any +2/+1 seems really dumb. What's the point of race selection lol

As someone who was looking forward to playing a half elf I'm really bummed about the ability score revamp. Gonna miss my two +1s dearly

R.I.P. Humans and Half Elves.
That dragon at the intro looked to happy. 😂
If i can have a lizardfolk open hand monk with a Gi and an eyepatch im definitely playing the hell out of it.
I hate that the trained skills gained via Backgrounds are locked. This isn't even the way the 2014 PHB does it. It's a needless limitation put onto RP.

My neighbor has it, and he can barely leave his house, he is miserable.
Why does that first dragonborn looks high or maybe a little bit devious.
Haha. She does. Nicely baked. 😂
A dubious little creature getting up to mischief.
FYI Keen Senses is just Perception proficiency - you can see it in the character sheet when the elf race is selected.
Yup but since it's special to the elf I figured they would have it clearly represented somewhere so you know you are getting it.
So again, your videos are such a great help to me and understanding many areas of this game/experience beyond what I read up on in terms of the lore and such💯👍
Thanks for the comment. Nice read

them ripping the unique stat bonuses from the races really kills any excitement I had for the character creator.
On D&D Duergar have innate invisibility spell and Enlarge. Since the NPCs can cast that spell, my guess is that is the bonus they'll have
Awesome thanks for sharing the info

I can see myself spending hours just in the character creator. I love this process way too much and with so many options…
Lack of deity selection is another weird omission.
yea thats larian they only had limited face options very limited and wrath of the righteous also had that problem
I totally understand your feelings here. I wonder if the lack of face structure options is due to the games cinematic nature? Perhaps it would have been a development nightmare. Not sure. With that said having body types for all races would have been nice.
@@WolfheartFPS maybe they'll do a free update for more facial options later? and more hair styles lol
@@WolfheartFPS i am kinda disappointed that i cannot create a beefy female barbarian anymore
Soon we will find out just how brave the designers were with those genital options, considering the Dragonborn exist.
After all this IS Larian we are talking about.
And after the bear incident? Well.
To be honest I'm not sure if I love the change to race specific ability boosts. Habijng restrictions is not always a bad thing.
I personally do.
I get why some people have problems with it, but nothing's stopping anyone from mimicking the OG system best they can.
And it atleast allows me to optimise certain things more for RP purposes without sacrificing much during battles.
The Dragonborn in this were what I expected the Argonians in Skyrim to even be a fraction of.
Same with body types, more or less, everyone is built the same, with the exception of the slightly bulkier barbarian
With such an emphasis on having a unique character, where the story follows you, id imagine theyd add that stuff to make it all a little more personal. beautiful game regardless
Hands down the best, most detailed character creator in any game I've ever played.
eh not really black desert online has it beat kinda
@@JakandDexsters I'm glad you think it's up on that top tier quality but it's not the same in my opinion. I prefer bg3 style.
@@cloud9847 yes its not the same but ( i dont play black desert online) from what i saw for BDO it has facial slides and other sliders too maybe larian will give us more options on release? or later as a free update like in dos2?
You're kidding?
@@JakandDexsters I do think more is planned for full release but I could be wrong.
Those are the weapons of peasant militias, after all.
spears were common in most milita regardless of standing because of how effective they were and later halberds axes and maces were very common
@@yulfine1688 Yeah, spears are OP irl.
@@theobell2002 which is strange cus in most games spears are usually the worst weapon...
Good catch
I think Larian have to keep +1 to all abilities for Humans the optional rule for selecting which stat to put in should be fore other races. That's my opinion.
Nerfing Humans needlessly like this will result in no-one playing them imo.
Guarantee that modders will rush to correct this chance to racial attributes to reintroduce a more purist 5e option.
Humans have always been incredibly boring, I will gladly sacrifice that +1 to all stats for some more interesting abilities.
In dnd there is the human variant that gets to choose a free feat at level 1 that could be what those 3 arrows in the humans icones represent
I really hope we get more face options. The ones in early access are lacking.
We will be getting more than what we have in early access. I know that at least!
@@WolfheartFPS in this video is this the full game? dont see new head options at all its all the same ones
it doesnt matter... given the choice , 75 percent of players during pre-release chose some bland ass human character. The devs actually tracked it and ragged on the community for it. lol
@@tiamat_023 sigh althought i love playing as a human character most times i would also play drow and tieflings too :(
@@tiamat_023 and?

It took 23 years, but we finally got here, thank fuck , I thought I'd die before it dropped.
The dark urge with oathbreaker and fiend multiclass combo is what I wanna go with.
The lack of bodytypes, especially sliders for obese characters, is super disappointing in a game like this that is all about customization.
Those ambient sounds in character creator are almost ASMR 👀
Bro you are on fire right now 🔥🔥🔥🙏🙏🙏
P.S. if they took the +1 to all stats away from humans, that ruins my build and excitement for what i was planning. I guess the forrest gnome sounds appealing for my lore bard giving speak with animals :)
Thanks Vlad! The past 5/6 or so years that I have been doing gaming content I feel like have all led to this specific period of time and I intend to not let it go to waste lol
Githyanki and shield dwarf will get you medium armor proficiency. For your lore bard.
That attribute change sucks so much for half elves and shield dwarves enjoyers.
Tails for dragonborns YES YES :D
Popping in for the algo, I’m amazed the amount of detail for a mostly top down experience, helps draw the world together
I'm so happy you showed more for female half orcs, the presets and piercings look good, I'm looking forward to playing one at launch hehe :D
seems good just weird how there is really any body type customization other than basic and slightly larger
I guess one can still get the sword with the help of speed potion on the Mindflayer, but there might not be enough time to kill the other two demon along with the Mindflayer and get yourself almost lvl 3 right after you wake up😂
@@jft0986i never even knew it was possible to beat up the other two.
Gonna try that on my next ea eun
@@ViralC1 You can let Shadowheart give a +2 AC to the Mindflayer, then throw a speed potion to it for more attacks on the demon. Throw some health potions to the Mindflayer to heal it just so it can tank more damage from the demons. A total of 5~6 health potions should allow the Mindflayer to kill the first two demon and possibly the third one, and with only a few hp left.
Also try to attack from rhe demon's back, and put down a candle to light your weapons on fire, adding some fire damage to your weapon.

These last few weeks are going by slow, I need a fast forward
I have a feeling that this game "wasn't made for me" and thus, the cinematic rewards will be less than stellar
