She's been singing this song for at least 35 years; its on the 1972 recording of Liza with a Z. Even though her vocal chops have greatly diminished, she can still convey the heart of this story. In fact, it just gets better with age.
Liza is looking and sounding good! Something about Liza cries out for love and this is, in part, I think, why her fans love her so much. She is one of those rare artists who dare convey vulnerability, so in other words, she presents as a real person, and therefore connects with her audience in a genuine way. All power to Liza, and here's to a great tour in the UK this year!
Bravo. She looks so TOGETHER!!! Seeing this has made me so happy. thank you Lollipopleague, I hope lots of people see this and it will put there doubts to rest just like it has mine. Thank you for the clips. Liza looks and sounds sensational. She truely is a marvel. The comeback kid.
@@michelinelalonde2217 I have to tell you the best story. I was in NYC and Alan Cumming was about to do a show with Liza. He was at this gay bar we were both at and we chatted for a bit and he said, "Oh man I have to deal with Liza's BS stories. You know Kaye Thompson never did those three doors it was BS. I laughed and laughed. He said "Liza likes to paint a picture like her Dad." I found that so interesting. I like how Liza frames her songs and stories. But after hearing that I was kinda wondering.....hmmmmmmm
Originally by French-Armenian singer Charles Aznavour…Tu t’laisses aller. This is a wonderful interpretation by Liz Minelli.

A deceptively simple song, and she--of course--nails it!

She's the master of a song
Her mother was the master, but she learned from the best. 🤍

Happy 65th Birthday, Liza!
That is an Aznavour song --- she is great but he did it also. Check it out!!!!!
She looks and sounds great. That Christmas episode must have scared her.
it has to be translated with a woman's point of view hence the translation is a bit off
