  • A look through all the jobs that need doing on our 1990 Citroen C25 Elddis Autoquest 270 motorhome. We've already done a lot since we first purchased the van but it seems there is a lot still to do! Which job would you tackle first?

Hi Alex. Living in Bristol, where there was recently an incident at the harbourside when a lorry ended up in the docks, I smiled at Stug Caveman's comment!
You have quite a list there.
I'm happy to watch you tackle any of those jobs, but maybe the door trims first, I'd be interested to see your approach, and you have to sort that spare wheel out.
Nice to see Mr Ginge........and Nicki, of course :)

Yes don't want to end up in the drink! The door cards will be interesting I think, might get round to that fairly soon 👍🤔

Hi Alex, your roof with the lichen spots use black spot remover it cleans paths and patios..put it on with a garden sprayer and leave it on about four hours and rinse off it works fantastic no scrubbing or brushing just spray and leave.it will bring it up beautifully, just try a section you will be amazed,,,cheers

Yep there's always a list. Endless. I have got squeally breaks. So probably need new calipers as reckon piston problems. But will check them soon. I try and do small jobs when we are away in van. Like Rutland water glueing door trim etc. It all takes time and Bungalow jobs is taking up a lot of time. New flooring in kitchen is next. Then painting walls. Even being retired there's still not enough hours in the day. Cheers from George and Jane

Oh yes, I have a list of house tasks too! I can recommend the caliper rebuild kits I got from Autodoc 👍

Always a job to do on these old buses 🙂
We didn't want to drill the roof either and have started wild camping so we bought a portable solar panel. It's perfect for what we need 😁

    • @ttxela

I might look into that. Drilling the roof definitely seems like a last resort!

I confess to once putting in a door speaker, and not allowing for the window winder. I cut the winder handle off. Ford Escort Mk 2. Felt guilty about that after I sold it....

Alex I watched until the bitter end and was mightily relieved to hear that your world famous screeching oven door has been spared from being part of the upcoming renovation purge. Long may she communicate with dogs, bats and whales in the future as you place and remove pies, sausage rolls etc from its fiery depths.

Hi Alex. I totally agree with your views. I bought an older Talbot. Just completed the rear piece of flooring as you are experiencing. Ripped out all the terrible table lamp cable previous owner used all over the place then rewired around 70% under the bonnet. 90% Hibernation and around 70% behind the dash. All with the correct gauge cable. Repaired the Valliant 125.7 boiler the water valve skimmed by hand replace and insulated water pipes and walls. Repaired water pump and so many other things including the gear selector and welded the selector arm. Remover the older tube lighting and replaced with 3w LED's. Repaired the gas heater, fridge and lots of other stuff. Added an additional 12 way fuse system, reverse cam, built in Pioneer speakers, additional high level indicator, reverse, brake/stop lights and front upper marker lights. Oncoming is new carpet lining all round. Spilt charging system. So it's never ending. Lots of the incentive from yourself so Thank you.

research Parabolic springs, leafs but the feel of coils, far better - use these on older Land Rovers but unsure if you can get for a van, the difference is amazing.
there's always something to do with old cars though - my daily drive is 1987 vintage and my "special days" is 1978 so i feel your pain with lots of jobs.....
