    Dear Sally, You are just wonderful ! As you mentioned your 92 year old mother playing I can understand where you are coming from ! I will be 93 in a month !!!! and started at 70 ! Yes pleasure does come from playing pieces that may not necessarily impress those who never took lessons but to you they are your great pieces because you worked hard at them and were successful. Your instructions are terrific, thank you.

      Dear Roland, thank you for your meaningful and inspiring words! I’m so happy you are enjoying the videos; you are welcome, it is my pleasure. I very much resonate with what you have said. For me, the pieces we have worked so hard to learn are not only great, they become our friends. Congratulations to you for starting piano at the age of 70, and going strong into your nineties! 🌟

    It excites me to see your enthusiasm...I absolutely love you devotion and your dedication is evident in your playing there are many good teachers but you are my personal favorite...One other characteristic I notice and feel is the hard work you put into these presentations...obviously it is a labor of love...plus your piano sounds majestic...I am a big Horowitz fan and his piano too has a bell like sound...even though each pianos are different brands ..I am a beginner at 53 yo but I am glued to the screen watching and listening to you.even though I am not at this level of piano playing.

      Hello Steve, it is so nice to hear from you again, and thank you for another very beautiful comment! I so appreciate your acknowledgements about the dedication and devotion that goes into these charts and lessons. You are right, they are labors of love. 🙏 It is my privilege and pleasure to do this work. Thank you also for your warm words about the Bösendorfer piano. I agree, it is a majestic instrument, and I am very grateful to have it! I wish you the very best with your music and the joy that it will bring you! 💕

    Wow! I really loved this tutorial - it's so detailed about the tiny but important nuances, and I found it so helpful to hear your tips for understanding the structure of the piece. More than anything, I love how passionately you speak about the piece, and your insights into Chopin's life at the time he wrote this. It's one of my favourite Chopin pieces too - it's a bit beyond my current technical ability but I'm still loving giving it a go - even if I probably will end up putting it aside coming back to it in 5 or 10 years! Nothing wrong with that of course. (The chord near the end of Section C where he sneaks in a dissonance with RH and LH thumbs playing just a semitone apart on G natural and G flat is I think my favourite chord of the whole piece!) Thank you so much again for this inspirational video!

      Hello Kim, thank you for your beautiful and acknowledging words! You are very welcome, ... it is my pleasure. I'm so glad to hear that you enjoyed the lesson, analysis, and also the presentation. I loved working on this piece, reading about Chopin's life, and what an exquisitely happy time it was for him just before he wrote this piece. Yes, I agree with you about the point in the piece (measure 141) where the thumbs of the hands play just a semitone apart. I also adore measure 241 with the LH rising a semitone from a Db octave to a D natural octave! I congratulate you on starting this piece now. I will often attempt to learn a piece 2 or 3 times with big intervals inbetween before I finally do finish it. It takes much patience, but it is worth it in the long run! Stay with it, ... I am pulling for you! I wish you much joy with your playing. 🎵

      @@SallyChristianMusic I’m on a mission with serious study of this piece. I find if I keep the csa right next to the practice page I can learn it faster. Would you ever consider doing the Fandango? I still have my huge pages 😊

    • @SallyChristianMusic
      @SallyChristianMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ginafazio318 Dear Gina, this is so exciting to hear! 🎉 I did a similar thing. I used the 9-page main file (regular size music) to learn the notes. This layout, however, does not show as clearly where the bigger sections of the piece begin and end. By placing the CSA right next to the main file practice music as you are doing, you are working so intelligently and efficiently! BTW: After I had the music mostly memorized, I practiced ONLY from the CSA (with the small notes.) By putting pages 1 & 2 side by side and pages 3 & 4 behind these, I had only one page turn! It worked beautifully. I'm thrilled to hear your feedback on how helpful the CSA is for learning & tracking this piece with all of the many repetitions! ... Regarding the Granados Fandango from the Goyescas, I would love to engrave this piece. It would be tons of work, but what a difference it would make to have it on the 11 X17 size sheets. Thank you for the nudge. 🙏

      Hello getitoncamera, thank you for your warm and enthusiastic words about this video! While I do not orchestrate in the traditional sense, I do hear orchestral qualities within these pieces. When I bring out the voices of soprano, alto, tenor, and bass, I think about which instruments would correspond to these different voices, and try to reproduce with my touch that particular sound and articulation.
