    I came back here to listen and I have to say, this really resonates with me on a level on par with avril 14th. So good.

    Lovely stuff. I like how you let it speak for itself and didn't just slap a lazy hiphop beat over it. I think I'm gonna have to experiment with my piano and Octatrack now..

    • @sadlantis
      @sadlantis  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do it! And thank you, but it wasn't a conscious decision to not put a beat over it, I just didn't think to try it :p

    This is really great! I love the sound of sampled piano.

    • @sadlantis
      @sadlantis  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Scott! Sampled pianos are great, you don't have to do much and it already sounds half decent. I love def want to build more tracks around piano, and do more tracks using only one instrument/sample.

    • @Treenote
      @Treenote 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      sadlantis No problem! I agree.
      That’s a good idea! I think the Digitakt works really well for that too as it has 8 tracks so you could have 8 note polyphony.

    • @PaapMezilane
      @PaapMezilane 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sadlantis absolutely, therefore I'm always into it, when somebody manages it. Simple is not a must, but it shure is the most elegant, when used in a right place (not political opinions Lol). Beautiful track!

      I like Kiasmos but this is not a Kiasmos sample. which track are you thinking of?

  • @Two-Eyed_Boy

    Beautiful track here! Have to ask, what happens to the tracks after the recording? Do they live on the DT or do they get deleted? That's an interesting part of the creative process for me. Saying, "I can be done with this now" and purging the tracks after recording

    • @sadlantis
      @sadlantis  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well....until now they have all been living on the DT but I recently ran out of projects, which means I've started making several tracks in one project. (This might be normal for everyone else, but I usually use one project for 1 track). Anyway, as fate would have it today there was an update released so you can back up projects with their respective sounds so I expect I'll be backing nearly everything and freeing up loads of space. I do see the appeal of deleting something when it's done and i have thought about doing that. Sorry for the rambling reply :p Do you keep everything?

    • @Two-Eyed_Boy
      @Two-Eyed_Boy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sadlantis well that's very cool and timely of Elektron. Suspect a DT might be somewhere in my future. I tend to consider everything a 'demo' version that will be improved upon later (with respective folders on drives and USB sticks taking up space and causing digital clutter). This channel was a means to get me used to releasing stuff and being OK with calling it the final version. 🤘

    • @sadlantis
      @sadlantis  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Two-Eyed_Boy I would very much like to see what you could do with a DT. And I get what you mean. I understand why people want to spend ages getting each track as good as they can because I was like that. But to echo your point having a channel is a great way to break out of that. It may not be for everyone but now I much prefer releasing stuff this way, even if it a bit unpolished or unfinished :)
