"If you start playing 40K at a young age, you're more likely to be drawn to the Space Wolves, but then as you get older that kind of goes away a little bit" This, is HERESY! **BLAM**
Honestly I think their SpaceVikings , the earliest form of Pirates to me so not only do I adore their battle style, their looks , lore and their chain of command, their pretty Badass as Warriors, I think the Emperor of man would allow their wolve mounts if he could witness them in battle , plus their pretty much the most Human Space Marines iv seen so far
Favorite Lore fact, the Space Wolves were only split once when the Legions were broken down after the Horus Heresy in the old lore (not current on recent lore) so they are still half a legion, although it was noted they were smaller than the other legions at the time.
Totally down with a heritical chapter practice if riding xenos into battle, just as in place as putting psychotic blood angels into their own company and letting them loose, or kroot riding dinos. I love the look, I love the art, i love the theme.
I think the space wolves are cool, the viking vibes are neat and I like that they're divergent from the codex while remaining loyal. They're one of the few chapters who are honest about how much fun they're having with being space marines, while all the others seem so dour. I think it's a shame that they are flanderised by the wolf stuff, lycanthropy as a genetic flaw and secretive direwolf cavalry are awesome but does every single unit and piece of wargear have to be wolf this and wolf that? 12 great companies and they're all different flavours of wolf. After a certain point it starts to feel one dimensional and you forget about other cool things about the chapter, like their psychic storm sorcery and their lowkey conflict with nids on their homeworld. Irl vikings liked comparing themselves to wolves as well, but they had other symbols too, like ravens. Shame that Crowus Crowax of the Ravenravens called dibs on that, or else the space might have been a little more diverse in tone
I Miss the og daemon hunter codex (3rd or4th edition, I think) I miss how bad ass an Inquisitor with the right retinue could be, either an insane shooty one,or a close combat that can rival any other close combat lord Not to mention the renegade inquisitor list was super fun to run(especially fluff wise)
I find it super hypocritical how a Rune Priest argued against psykers at Nikaea, and Leman Russ is my least favorite Primarch, but I love the furcloaked aesthetic, the idea of berserker rage psychically manifesting, and the early lore about their wolves actually being devolved human beings. I wonder if it would work if I wanted a homebrew successor chapter of black sheep Space Wolves who don’t get along with their first founding?
SERIOUSLY I LOVE YOU GUYS CONTENT HOWEVER REALLY LOL 🖖🏿 HOW CAN YOU HAVE SPACE WOLVES WITHOUT ANY SPACE WOLVES ☝🏿💯 IT'S ONLY NATURAL TO THEIR NATURE & A LOGICAL WAY TOGO WITH THE SPACE WOLVES ☝🏿☝🏿☝🏿💩😁

I'll never get tired of the Rout. So bad ass in the Lore, and crushing your foes in melee on the tabletop is so satisfying.
