Hi Femke, Congratulations on reaching 10k subscribers. As a seasoned product designer myself, i can understand how important this might feel to you. Kudos once again.
I cant agree more on asking questions. Something ive struggled with is not challenging what the business thinks is right, you take the brief at face value but they dont actually know what is right to begin with. It can get messy after that!!
Congratulations! 🥳 You have a fantastic channel! It’s been my go-to place for the past months for tips and product design inspiration! Thanks for doing what you do! 🙌🏻
"Meets the business goals, without sacrificing the user experience along the way" points to a more deeply routed misunderstanding about what the purpose of business goals are in relation to the design of your product.
Your tweet about the creepy french dude brought me here... and as future front end dev, your content is really useful, I'm going for UI/UX field, so glad to found your channel, cheers.
1. Understand the fundamental principles of design 2. Can articulate design decisions and rational 3. Build rapport with Engineering 4. Knows how to juggle trade offs 5. At first I thought, okay, another boring list, we all heard all this but actually this is a pretty good list of the qualities you need as a designer. I think it would be pretty interesting if you would make a series about this, expanding all the points you listed.
Congratulations! Thanks for sharing inspirational content! I am very happy with your achievement with 10k subscriber. I have a suggestion for a future video, approach the difference between Product Designer x UX Designer Best
@@femkedesign Thank you for replying! That's understandable.. My main goal would be to learn from your thinking around the improvement of an existing product. Being a product designer myself, I constantly find myself having to rip apart products and redesigning them with rationale.
Hello! I'm a requirements analyst trying to learn UX. As I'm not very creative with design aesthetics, is it possible for me to succeed in UX or product design as someone who creates low to mid fidelity wireframes, user flows, process flows and prototypes and have a UI person design the aesthetics? Congrats on your 10ks subs!
@@femkedesign thank you for asking. The gap I'm talking about is how my designs are being coded despite following the 8pt grid system and using familiar concepts for designing my components. I hope I didn't confuse you
I feel one more important thing of being a good product designer is asking good questions.
Femke / Design TH-camr Absolutely 😃😃
That's like number 1, as you need to know what the client actually wants. There's always values for the users that you need to create.
WOHOOOOO 10K!!!!
Huge shoutout!
Falling in love with the problem, not with the solution.
Congratulations Femke!!! Very happy to hear this :)

Amazing content! Suggestion - How about some redesign videos? How would you redesign youtube/facebook or maybe a smaller element of either? :)
