In the year 1976, The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, a man of extraordinary wisdom and vision, in fact the greatest Jewish leader of our generation, selected 12 Torah Passages - or 12 Pesukim, from the entire range of Jewish literature that summarize the very essence of Judaism and suggested that every child learn them by heart and recite them daily. Understanding these passeges are the foundation of living a Jewish life and serving Hashem (G-d) with joy for Jewish people of all ages, even a small child. And through reciting them and living with them we also hasten the coming of Moshiach, may it be now!

12 הפסוקים (י״ב הפסוקים ומאמרי חכמינו זכרונם לברכה) הם פסוקים יסודיים וחשובים ביהדות, שנבחרו על ידי הרבי מליובאוויטש - רבי מנחם מענדל שניאורסאהן בשנת תשל״ו (1976), במיוחד עבור ילדים. הרבי בקש שכל ילד יהודי ישנן פסוקים אלה בעל-פה ויחזור עליהם בכל עת. הבנת פסוקים אלה הם היסוד לעבודת ה׳ בשמחה לכל יהודי, אפילו לילד קטן. ועל-ידי אמירת הפסוקים אנו גם ממהרים את ביאת המשיח ואת הגאולה האמתית והשילמה, שיבוא בקרוב ממש!
