Like I said, my favorite and current paddle is the Selkirk Power Air - the ratings in the video were created by my friend Darsh, who was testing the paddles. Thanks for watching!!
Very nice / good suggestions. However, what was not covered was how to evaluate how long the paddle surface retained its roughness. I have heard multiple sources report that the Joola paddles lose a high percentage of their roughness after only about a month of regular use. How can a regular pickleball player get a good, unbiased evaluation of surface roughness versus time for all the paddles out there?
Thanks for the help! Lots of people know about different paddles but don't know the differences much. I would love to hear what you guys think about some budget paddles.
I've only been playing for 6 months but I've tried a ton of paddles already. I can quite confidently say that the Six Zero Double Diamond is one of the best, if not the best, all around paddle to buy. Good control and more then enough power for drives and put aways. I highly recommend it. Just bought my second one today.
Since you pick the Jolla Perseus 16mm as a winner, would be nice if you can compare all four of the new Joola paddles, Perseus, Scorpeus 16mm & 14mm. Thanks
I am an advanced beginner with a beginner paddle. I want to invest in a better paddle but don't have the opportunity to demo from a store and feel silly spending too much money when my skills a just developing. A video to pick a paddle for someone at my level, with room to improve, in the $150 or under range would be great! Thanks!
Enjoyed this video, and most all of your content. Next time i visit my son in LA, I'm going to stop by that shop in Santa Monica. I've fallen in love with the vatic pro v7. But i had no way to test ahead of time. So finding a shop like that is perfect. Thanks and keep up the great instructional videos 👍🏻
Selkirk is aggressively sponsoring pros and similar influencers right now…they are trying the tried and true path of spending a ton on marketing and sponsorships to capture market share in a growth industry. Those customers who buy Selkirk are paying them to influence them…it’s akin to a car customer paying an extra $2-3k on avg to have the car company advertise to that customer…
I used the Crbn 1 and I purchased a xspak paddle, it’s a Crbn clone. The xspak was a bit lighter, hit with more power, dinked better and had great spin at literally 1/2 the cost. I’ve used the Selkirk you use and the joola and I’m convinced that I’d rather have the xspak!
I am a new player so I don’t want to invest in a very expensive paddle. Would like a comparison of budget friendly paddles also. Thanks. Luv the channel
My wife is buying a paddle. we tested them as the video described. However, we did not check for sweet spot and spin. We will check for those two characteristics on the next testing go around. We are down from 25 to about eight. The first criteria was weight with her preferring lighter ones, so that was easy to get down to eight
Looking for recommendations for a paddle for a beginner but one that gives a good experience on first playing and not a paddle that could turn someone off to pickleball. Would appreciate your top 3 and why.
Good video. It be cool if the paddles didn't have any logos so that name brand bias doesnt kick in. I recently bought the Six Zero Double Black Diamond 14 mm. Came in at 7.8 ounces but i put lead weight at 3 and 9 oclock and then on both sides of the throat. Power and spin are great with this paddle and I am just now getting good feel for the dinking. In the end I think any good quality paddle is fine, its more about the player's ability.
Love may Perseus 16 paddle, but I'm wondering whether a 16 is the best paddle for singles. Might a 14 be better given that power is more of a factor in singles? Thanks
As someone who played a lot of tennis in the past, I go through a paddle in about 6 weeks playing about 15-20hrs per week. Digging shots which scrapes the corners is my biggest culprit. As a result, for a person like myself, COST is the practical highest factor in choosing a paddle…
Why aren’t there objective evaluations with mechanical specs like thickness, stiffness, friction ratio, bounce and spin characteristics of standard mechanical arm like it used to be done for tennis racquets . I am sure manufacturers have to measure them for quality control so racquets parameters do not vary between units
IS IT "LEGAL" OR, ACCEPTABLE, TO COAT THE PADDLE SURFACES WITH ANYTHING, THAT MAY INCREASE IT'S "SPIN" TRACTION"??!!!... [i.e. "ROSIN", PITCH, LATEX, GRIT, OR, MESH/FABRIC?!]
@@sebastiandchow No, I’m not. Buy from companies who make an effort to put out quality products while doing some R&D. Stop supporting knock offs. You’re part of the China problem if you do.
TOO BAD YOU COULDN'T TRY THE 6.0 DOUBLE BLACK DIAMOND IN THE TEST...I HAVE THE CARBON, PURSUIT AND THE 6.0 AND I COULD SWITCH BETWEEN THEM AND EACH ONE HAS JUST MINOR DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THEM ALL...BUT ALL 3 ARE EXCELLENT PADDLES...SORRY FOR CAP LOCK...oops
I just spent $70 and it made me feel sick! 😂 Most people like me only plan to play for fun, so I’m not trying to win a tournament with my cheaper paddle.

Have you played with the new Luxx Control Air yet? how does it compare?
I have a lot of respect for your opinion. Did you go through the same process to choose the Selkirk?
Thanks for this review. How would you compare the Enhance Sweet spot paddle vs. these paddles?
A budget paddle comparison would be fantastic for people looking for good but yet affordable paddles. Thanks
vatic pro prism flash or v7 is the only thing you need to look at if you want a budget paddle
@@zzzzz2899⁰
And Ronbus
It just happens that I own both the Ronbus and the Vatic…
Budget paddles just aren’t that good. Why do you own multiple budget paddles? Just make the investment
This is perfect content to evaluate why a player would choose a paddle, but also, how a player should evaluate paddles. Well done!
That shop is SICK. That mini indoor court for trying paddle is so smart
My best paddles that I have tested and love them Vatic Pro, 6.0 Double Diamond, Legacy Pro, Ronbus series....nice video !!!!

This is a great video! Yes, budget paddles please: Legacy, Volair, Vatic, Bread & Butter, etc. Thank you!

Yes to budget paddles please.😊
Please do the budget video!! I’m willing to go up to around $125 but the lower the better for me right now.
Thanks for your unbiased reviews. It seems the Selkerk paddles are very popular in the 2024 PPA.

I did not like the feel/feedback of the xspak so returned it to Amazon with no hassles.
Thank you for doing this video...have been sweating over what paddle to get and really can't test before I order
Glad it was helpful!
Please add the Vatic pro flash to your budget paddle battle. Thx
Yes, a video on budget paddles and best values.
Definitely make a video on budget paddles. Great video. 👍

Funny. Other testers have not rated the Joola Perseus very high. I guess, like you said, every player is different!
I would like to see a comparison of a set of wide paddles from some of the same manufacturers.
Yes please do budget paddles
I wish you guys had affiliate links to purchase these!
I just bought a Volair mach 1 and a mach 1 forza for my gf and I. I wonder how they compare to the Joola in this video... any feedback?
They are my top 3, wondering if I should go with 14mm or 16 🤔
Do a video of the that Selkirk v htpick paddle from temu, it feels the exact same I have the cheap one
Budget Paddle comparison would be great !!
HI thanks for this video, can you test out the Vulcan 5000 series paddle? Thanks
Joola perseus has 14mm and 16mm. Which one is better??
Which PowerAir model do you use? S2, Invikta or Epic?
very good video. please et some of the budget carbons
What is the store name shown on the video with a lot of paddle choices?

A friend of mine had a ping pong paddle with 80 grit sandpaper on one side so he could choose to spin it 45° from where he hit it towards any time.
