Great build Chris! That commander will certainly take care of the joinery going together! Have to add that auger bit to my christmas list! Looking forward to seeing you at workbenchcon in February!
Great mallet chris, love the joinery and how the ash looks finished. And of course had to smash aome fruit with it. I hear you on the jig saw it always has trouble with thicker wood. Maybe a large coping saw would work better
It’s been a long time since I’ve made it so I’d have to go measure it. If I had to guess though… the head is probably like a 10x8 face and 12” long. Handle is probably 48”.
seriously, it's just a mallet. unless this is going into a museum, way too much effort for something that's gonna take a beating, like smashing fruit n vegies😜
Try building a Mallet similar to yours , but making the head out of Black Locust and the Handle out of Osage Orange . That , is a Real Mallet . A one time build that Definetly does the Job , for life .

Long time subscriber here. Still not disappointed 😎
Hah thanks Terri. Appreciate you sticking around.
Great vid Chris
Thanks 👍 I really cranked this one out in a weekend. It was exhausting but I hope it serves me well.
@@CowDogCraftWorks The results are great!
Thats a nice mallet, i hope this is a good channel, much love
Honestly… I hope this is a good channel too.
That’s a massive wooden mallet. Ha. Fantastic.
Great for knocking beams together
Great film. Super cool project. Mahalo for sharing! : )
Glad you enjoyed it! I will say that the amount of work that went into it in such a short time gave me some pretty gnarly blisters.
Great build Chris! That commander will certainly take care of the joinery going together! Have to add that auger bit to my christmas list! Looking forward to seeing you at workbenchcon in February!
Right on! You'll actually be able to see the mallet at WBC too. I'm probably bringing it.
Awesome video dude and nice mallet!
Glad you enjoyed it. It's a beast.
Great stuff man!
Thank you!
That draw bore would’ve been easier if you had a big mallet. Oh well!
Malletception
Very nice! and I hate to say it but I enjoyed the food smashing. I wonder how a chamfer bit in a router would handle the cork rubber.
It’s funny that you mention that… I think that would probably work great. I considered it after the fact but kind of just wanted to be done. 🤣
Mallet envy.
❤️
nicely made videos! Keep it up
Thanks much!
Great build! You bringing this bad boy to ATL?!?!🤔
Sure am!
Great mallet chris, love the joinery and how the ash looks finished. And of course had to smash aome fruit with it. I hear you on the jig saw it always has trouble with thicker wood. Maybe a large coping saw would work better
I need to pony up and buy a bandsaw and just find a place to stuff it.
@Cow Dog Craft Works maybe you could do some.sort of flip top method on your work bench
@@MakerCuisine sir… I will never defile my beloved workbench in such a way.
@@CowDogCraftWorks haha i completely understand 😅
🤣
very niver build
Thank you!
This thing is awesome! What was that thing you were using for marking your layouts?
That’s probably the sumitsubo. Japanese ink line. I’ve got a video on that too.
@@CowDogCraftWorks that’s super cool, thanks 👊🏻
What are the dimensions of the mallet?
It’s been a long time since I’ve made it so I’d have to go measure it. If I had to guess though… the head is probably like a 10x8 face and 12” long. Handle is probably 48”.
You say things like tickle the bells and taste the awkwardness in a video and you know I’m going to be creepin in yo comment section
Gurrrrrrl u kno im here for that.
MALLET
Thank you!
what is the dimentions of the head
6.25 x 7.5 x 10.25
seriously, it's just a mallet. unless this is going into a museum, way too much effort for something that's gonna take a beating, like smashing fruit n vegies😜
Anything worth making is worth making well.
Someone is over compensating

Trust me… it’s been a bit and this bad boy isn’t going anywhere. Been knocking together Timbers with nary a scratch even.
