    * Please note that various news articles and other research mention "Alleged" Yakuza. I should have been clearer in this respect. Overall the main point about this guy in the update remains.

the Yakuza were NOT involved. Those guys who made him apologize were social media guys who go after people at train stations for committing crimes (one of which, Rengaku ,was actually arrested 2 weeks ago for harassing a woman ).

The fine was fair for the actual charge that was laid, however the amount was a joke considering the premeditated disrespect he displayed. The lowest form of human behaviour. He should be ashamed, but sadly I'm sure he'll be boasting about how he got off. He'll "earn" the fine total from one video. TH-cam must enforce some type of standards.... hold on, that's censorship... urghh, it's complicated. Wouldn't it be great if the audience was mature enough not to watch his bad taste content?

Yeah that was a bad idea. The punishment was not nearly harsh enough. Streamers work by a loss to gain ratio. If they moose $3000 gain 50,000 then it’s a win in their books. The only way they would consider acting civil is if there was a huge punishment looming over their heads

    • @HappyGaijin

I agree. If I was Johnny I would consider this a win because of all the media exposure that I got, it would get me a lot of followers. Streamers like him don't care what type of followers they get, they are in it for fame, and with Fame brings in opportunity.

He should not have the ability to ever go back to Japan. He is old enough to know you should be courteous when visiting someone else's house. It was unfair and extraordinarily disrespectful towards the Japanese people. Outside of whatever country you come from, your rules do not apply, and you should understand every other place you visit has a different way of running its society. Just understand that, be respectful, and enjoy the culture. This isn't a hard thing to understand. It's just this day and age; people like Johnny shithead want to chase clout and then not be held accountable when the shit hits the fan. He could have used his platform to create educational and fun travel content since he has been to other places. It's a shame that, from what it sounds like, Japan is letting him off the hook, but if this is the case, as I mentioned before, he should be banned for life from ever going back.

However I think he deserves more jailtime and lifetime ban, I see logic in this sentence. Why Japanese taxpayer's money should be wasted on his inprisonment, when they can just deport him and making him his home country's problem? Effective and efficient. Very Japanese way of thinking.

He should be deported based on "illegal trespassing" on the contruction site as the main basis of his crime.
There was no English signs or noticeable signs showing it was a work site and the cones on the main entrance was opened with no guards stationed. I don`t believe he commited any trespassing crime. He is a political prisoner on his charges of disrupting the peace by streaming obnoxious content on Kick.
I don`t believe Japan should jail him, there are so many Japanese Streamers who make the same kind of content as Johnny did and they were not made an example of just like Johnny an American did.
The foreigner who punched him face no charges too, that is a huge injustice in my books.
TH-camrs have been reacting to his content negatively but Johnny Somali is just a variety streamer who makes outrageous content at the end of the day. He did not attack anyone physically or deface any public property.
