If you’re a doctor, unless you’re a general practitioner in a very small and old fashioned practice, you won’t be drawing blood. You will learn how in rotations, of course, but that’s best left to phlebotomists!

I have seen this video countless times, but I can FINALLY relate to the fact that Becca can’t watch reality TV shows. I was reading a book that involved the main character doing an audition on a musical instrument. I felt myself shaking as if I was the one outside the door waiting to go in, and all I thought in that moment was, “Wow. I totally know what Rebecca means now. This sucks.”

I'm really happy that it was recommended to me a few years ago, because the animations are so fun to watch and the stories are always really entertaining. Actually I think singing helps you because you stop breathing. You may not know it but that sometimes happens to people in stressful situation. That happens to me. I stop breathing when they take out blood. So I alway do breathing exercises to stop myself from fainting.
I'm extremely squeamish when it comes to veins so I can't even think about someone sticking a needle in your veins and drawing blood out of it without shuddering.

0:38 Fun fact: This isn't necessarily *just* a fear reaction. There's actually a physiological mechanism where the body can react to skin punctures by fainting. I've had it happen exactly once, got really lightheaded a few minutes after a shot. Though in this case, the fact that you can prevent it by singing suggests that it may be fear, I don't think the physiological reaction can be distracted like that.

Singing is my protection, my entertainment, what I listen and dance to, I sing whenever something doesn’t feel right or if there might be a lurking danger or if I need comfort or just want to do it for fun, whenever I sing things feel better and if they don’t I usually have to go somewhere else that feels safer until I feel like the danger is gone or until I force myself to leave completely

I've got one similar to the airplane thing. When I was a child my mom used to have her friend from Georgia visit, and this friend would sometimes bring her kids along. Her kids were about the same age as my sister and I, so we were cool with having someone to hang out with. One day, as we were all in the car driving to some place I don't remember, the girl my age points to something out the window and shouts, "Here comes the cemetery! Don't breathe or else the ghosts will get into your body and steal your soul!"
Obviously I knew she was joking, but I played along anyway. For as long as she was over, every time we passed by a cemetery we would give each other knowing glances and then hold our breath for as long as we could until we had passed the cemetery. We would absolutely refuse to breathe until the last headstone was behind the car... Even well beyond the point where we were starting to get uncomfortable. You would think that after all these years, especially given the fact that I haven't talked to her in so long, I would have stopped by now but no.
So yes, as an adult, every time I see a cemetery approaching while in a vehicle of some kind, I have to persuade myself to KEEP BREATHING.
edit: Oh yeah! I forgot to mention that this includes pictures of cemeteries and graveyards, too! Even just pictures of headstones in the ground.
On a class trip to New York City, we drove past this HUGH cemetery! It must have been miles and miles!
You would have passed out for sure.
Sometimes, when I was sure I was about to pass out, I would duck into my collar and take a quick breath from inside of my shirt. That, or I would turn away from the direction of the cemetery and take a breath just big enough to sustain me until we reached the edge of the cemetery. I always tried to do this inconspicuously, as I knew my parents would be like ???? if they caught onto the fact that I wasn't breathing properly. Keep in mind that I would do this even as a teenager while sitting in the front passenger seat of the car. Either I'm a ninja master or my parents were too polite to say anything.
They know now, though, that I used to do this. I joke about it often, but the urge to not breathe still comes to me every time I see a cemetery.

I have something like the performance one. If I’m reading a book and something happens to a character that’s embarrassing I feel that embarrassment for them and almost can’t read that part and sometimes have to skip it 😂 I’m super weird
