I believe Wonder Woman's "sister" is Circe. Although I've no idea why she called her sister, she's a Goddess that fears Diana will one day take her power. Also that giant woman was Giganta. It's been a whole since I've seen this cinematic but I always get chills every time I see it.
Wow, this brings back so many memories. It's probably been a decade since I played DCUO at this point, but this cutscene still holds up pretty well. What Luthor did back at "present time" at the end was release stuff that gave lots of new people powers (to explain all the player characters in the MMO).
Cinematic got cut a little short. After Batman asks Luthor what he did, Luthor explains how he gave Earth a fighting chance. Then there's a few other cinematics that came out years later. Some people are saying that Circe isn't really an Amazon, but a Goddess of Magic, and that is almost always true. However, I played this game and in this particular Earth, she does seem to be an Amazon in the same sense that Diana is an Amazon, but she's instead gifted with immense magical power and considers Diana her rival.

This eventually leads into the character creation aspect of the game.
Yeah, there are definitely a lot of incarnations of Luthor that portray him less as self serving, but more as a cold hearted cynic that does what he does more out of a complete distrust of the unknown. Still self serving in some regard, but more in a guilty pleasure sense than raw greed and narcissism. In a bit of an ironic twist, despite his common outright racism against aliens, he likely would be right at home as a kryptonian at the height of their empire. Honestly if Zod didn't perfectly demonstrate all Luthor's fears about Superman, he and Zod likely would have been common allies.
Lex Luthor from DC and Dr. Doom from Marvel are 2 characters that are obviously on the villain side of the wall, but are so charismatic and cool that I can't help but love em. And to be fair, both of them have played the hero role on more than 1 occasion against other villains
The best way to find out about dc is probably the DC animated movies they're all connected like the MCU. The first one is "justice league: flashpoint paradox"
Flashpoint Paradox may have been the first one released, but if you don't already know all the main characters, it should NOT be the first one you watch. I'd start with Justice League War. It does a much better job of introducing everybody.
You two are awesome keep up the great work. Smallville is one of my all-time favorite shows. It was a really good show and I'm so glad that people can remember a gem like that. And I totally agree with Bethany on how that version of Lex Luthor in Smallville did have some humanity.

Here's the thing about DCUO: It recently became pretty much Free-to-Play, as it unlocked all of their "Episodes" (DLCs) for free AND until October 20th they give every player a boost up to lv. 290, which is pretty much enough to catch up with their new releases. I think it's a really good move on their part and might bring them new player base.

As soon as the cinematic kicks off and greets us with Green Arrow and Poison Ivy *_both_* dead right off the bat, it's easy to get that inkling that things are _not_ great for the Justice League. 😬 (And I want to know where Sinestro is! The gameplay is MMORPG where you are able to play a character, whose alliance you can choose (hero or villains). Each camp has a "trinity" where you can choose which one to be your mentor. You play in Metropolis and Gotham but more maps came with different DLC's. 4. This game is a great starting point for everyone who is new to DC and has imo enough easter-eggs for a nerd like me XD Conclusion: Whether PC or Playstation this game is great!
This was such an intense and awesome trailer when it first came out. I remember showing to all my friends when I was younger but then we found out it was an MMO and had to pay for it monthly or something like that and we gave up.

It took Batman to get me to play an MMO. Was there on day one (after a four-hour download), and played for the better part of a decade. Even had a character in a league of one, just so I could fill up the league hall with statues of me, lol. Quit the game a few years ago, and haven't missed it much.
I do love DC Universe Online and I played it on my PlayStation 4 every day. I definitely know everything about the Marvel Universe and the DC Universe. And other Fictional Universes.

Funny that y'all reacted to this trailer. I have about 3.5k hours into this game & I haven't touched it in about 5-6 years or so LMAOO Also, a little context as to the suits & what not. THIS game is centered around New 52 if I recall correctly. AND this game was started up by a bunch of devs/people who were fans of DC Comics. It wasn't until the game was out for 3-4 years before DC Comics finally gave them the OK to use some of the modern comic stuff. As someone else mentioned, Luthor gave a bunch of people powers via Exobytes. In this game, you can either be a Hero or a Villain. The Hero side gets: Superman, Batman or Wonder Woman as their mentor. And depending on who you pick, dictates where you'll initially start. And vice versa for the Villain side. Everyone that you could possibly think of, for DC Comics. Is most likely in this game/in the process of getting put into this game So characters like: Batman, Scarecrow, Joker, Penquine, Two-Face, Clayface, Circe, Hal Jordan, Alan Scott, Sinestro, Big Barta, Steppenwolf, Red Hood, Cyborg, Starfire etc. This game is SOO well done. And for anyone here in the comments that has NOT played this game. I recommend giving it a chance. It's on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, I thinkkkkk PS5 & Xbox Series X? Dunno. But really fun. @@Kumoii I only played as long as I did because it was one of the few things I could share long distance with my brother. We avoided a lot of the community because, while sometimes you'd get grouped up with fun people, the vast majority (weirdly, especially on the hero side) were unpleasant players who'd either kick you or bail after one wipe. And some of them were devs. After awhile, it just wasn't fun anymore. Not to mention the influx of pay-to-win players. I don't have a problem taking time to help a noob learn the mechanics of a given instance, but a lot of those guys just weren't interested. Long story short, I guess it was a lot of little things, not least of which is that I prefer to game with people I know personally, or just play solo.
@@samieltheinfamous Yeah that's how it usually is & partially why it's unwise to group with randoms. Because you typically wont get either good players or you'll get toxic ones. I personally never had the issues on the Hero side, not even on the villain side. But I stopped shortly after the merge of PS + PC came to be. The people that leave USUALLY are players who expect things to work on the first try. I was/still with a league called Incarnates Reborn. Might just be Incarnates nowadays, but that league is people from like.. 2-3 different leagues combined into one thankfully. And all of which were some of the top players before the merge happened. I personally hated the villain side. Not due to the players, but moreso the HQs Lol It was sooo annoying trying to figure out which way was which.

For what it's worth, I was just as taken aback when the Kryptonite started falling out of Wonder Woman's mouth. And then Lex Luthor speared Superman and the shock came right back! 😵 Desecrating Wonder Woman's corpse to kill Superman is a new low for Lex. This cinematic turned from dark to Ultradark _really_ quick!
Lex Luthor is QUITE OFTEN the hero in the comics, Superman tends to become either a tyrant or just dip out. Lex believes in humanity and wants us to reach our apex, that's his main motivation. He never gives up, he's a natural born leader and he's not a hopeless idealist like Superman which is why Superman falls to villainy in a lot of contemporary stories. Superman is problematic because he's not human and people tend to depend on him which always bears the possibility to go horribly wrong . He's even in the Justice League rn as an honorary member

I've been reading some daredevil comics recently and its been fun I highly reccomend checking them out same with some Batman comics. And have you guys seen the show Smallville ? Its great if you wanna know more about superman and such and the DC animated movies are great to know more about certain characters like John Constantine, Batman's bat family batgirl, Nightwing, robin etc and green lantern too.
Fun you should mention smallville as we actually talk about it a little bit at the end of the reaction. 😊 one of us has seen it. The other hasn’t. And have some DD comics from back when I used to collect them. But mainly Spider-Man was my guy. Three comic book boxes plus filled with his stuff 🤩

She is WEERY powerful magican, and one most interesting character in DC womans And yes... She and Wonder Woman are NOT sisters. Circe said this either because the Amazons refer to each other as "sister", or because according to the legend of Hecate, the previous goddess of magic, from whom Circe received the powers and power of the goddess of magic, it was Diana who should become the one who would later inherit her title
You ever notice how people who know very little about marvel and dc get really surprised when they learn new information? Learning about new characters or information tidbits. It’s strange. Anyway, love the content, I was originally going to skip this because I had no idea what this was to be honest but I’m glad I didn’t.
Because some of the characters are so iconic. We feel like we know all about them. Or when a “new” character comes that is super badass, we wonder why they haven’t been showcased before to the masses. We do enjoy learning about DC a lot. We know Marvel a bit better. But gaining more DC knowledge lately 😇

Funny that y'all reacted to this trailer. I have about 3.5k hours into this game & I haven't touched it in about 5-6 years or so LMAOO Also, a little context as to the suits & what not. THIS game is centered around New 52 if I recall correctly. AND this game was started up by a bunch of devs/people who were fans of DC Comics. It wasn't until the game was out for 3-4 years before DC Comics finally gave them the OK to use some of the modern comic stuff. As someone else mentioned, Luthor gave a bunch of people powers via Exobytes. In this game, you can either be a Hero or a Villain. The Hero side gets: Superman, Batman or Wonder Woman as their mentor. And depending on who you pick, dictates where you'll initially start. And vice versa for the Villain side. Everyone that you could possibly think of, for DC Comics. Is most likely in this game/in the process of getting put into this game
So characters like: Batman, Scarecrow, Joker, Penquine, Two-Face, Clayface, Circe, Hal Jordan, Alan Scott, Sinestro, Big Barta, Steppenwolf, Red Hood, Cyborg, Starfire etc. This game is SOO well done. And for anyone here in the comments that has NOT played this game. I recommend giving it a chance. It's on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, I thinkkkkk PS5 & Xbox Series X? Dunno. But really fun. Sorry for the long comments. My account named is actually based/from this game.

@@samieltheinfamous Yeapp I played from basically the beginning, all the way up til... I believe Episode 22 DLC. So about 5-6 years total. I always recommend it but I do usually state why I left Lol
@@Kumoii I only played as long as I did because it was one of the few things I could share long distance with my brother. We avoided a lot of the community because, while sometimes you'd get grouped up with fun people, the vast majority (weirdly, especially on the hero side) were unpleasant players who'd either kick you or bail after one wipe. And some of them were devs. After awhile, it just wasn't fun anymore. Not to mention the influx of pay-to-win players. I don't have a problem taking time to help a noob learn the mechanics of a given instance, but a lot of those guys just weren't interested. Long story short, I guess it was a lot of little things, not least of which is that I prefer to game with people I know personally, or just play solo.
@@samieltheinfamous Yeah that's how it usually is & partially why it's unwise to group with randoms. Because you typically wont get either good players or you'll get toxic ones. I personally never had the issues on the Hero side, not even on the villain side. But I stopped shortly after the merge of PS + PC came to be. The people that leave USUALLY are players who expect things to work on the first try. I was/still with a league called Incarnates Reborn. Might just be Incarnates nowadays, but that league is people from like.. 2-3 different leagues combined into one thankfully. And all of which were some of the top players before the merge happened. I personally hated the villain side. Not due to the players, but moreso the HQs Lol It was sooo annoying trying to figure out which way was which.

For what it's worth, I was just as taken aback when the Kryptonite started falling out of Wonder Woman's mouth. And then Lex Luthor speared Superman and the shock came right back! 😵
Desecrating Wonder Woman's corpse to kill Superman is a new low for Lex. This cinematic turned from dark to Ultradark _really_ quick!
Lex Luthor is QUITE OFTEN the hero in the comics, Superman tends to become either a tyrant or just dip out. Lex believes in humanity and wants us to reach our apex, that's his main motivation. He never gives up, he's a natural born leader and he's not a hopeless idealist like Superman which is why Superman falls to villainy in a lot of contemporary stories. Superman is problematic because he's not human and people tend to depend on him which always bears the possibility to go horribly wrong .
He's even in the Justice League rn as an honorary member

I've been reading some daredevil comics recently and its been fun I highly reccomend checking them out same with some Batman comics. And have you guys seen the show Smallville ? Its great if you wanna know more about superman and such and the DC animated movies are great to know more about certain characters like John Constantine, Batman's bat family batgirl, Nightwing, robin etc and green lantern too.
Fun you should mention smallville as we actually talk about it a little bit at the end of the reaction. 😊 one of us has seen it. The other hasn’t. And have some DD comics from back when I used to collect them. But mainly Spider-Man was my guy. Three comic book boxes plus filled with his stuff 🤩

Circe said this either because the Amazons refer to each other as "sister", or because according to the legend of Hecate, the previous goddess of magic, from whom Circe received the powers and power of the goddess of magic, it was Diana who should become the one who would later inherit her title

You ever notice how people who know very little about marvel and dc get really surprised when they learn new information?
Learning about new characters or information tidbits. It’s strange.
Anyway, love the content, I was originally going to skip this because I had no idea what this was to be honest but I’m glad I didn’t.
Because some of the characters are so iconic. We feel like we know all about them. Or when a “new” character comes that is super badass, we wonder why they haven’t been showcased before to the masses. We do enjoy learning about DC a lot. We know Marvel a bit better. But gaining more DC knowledge lately 😇
