This is brilliant. I have been inspired by your video since you posted it. Just found a UHER at a garage sale in Montreal. Now I am to trying to figure out the power & plug ins.
I love how you've included the programming at the beginning of the video. It helps build the tension. If someone asked me to explain was "dawless" production/performance is, I would use this video as an introduction.
Well this, like all your jams, is absolutely phenomenal. May I ask you how this was recorded and what sort of units has the sound gone through for post production? What console/interface have you used? What compressors/limiters etc? Thanks a lot and keep up the outstanding work.
@@ludoWicmusic Hey that bit of info is just amazing. Thanks for sharing. I remember seeing a Casio SK1 in a shop window I used to walk by as a kid and being endlessly fascinated by it. I had a VL-1 at the time but this one was a SAMPLER! I really wanted it. Sadly, I couldn't afford it. Now I realise it would have been a waste. I only started making actual music with my VL-1 in the last year or two. The fact is, a toy is a toy because of you use it as one. Once you have the chops, anything can be an instrument of music. Of course we are not all equal. I don't think I'll ever extract as much juice from anything as you do. In my boom, yoy are a geniua. But generally we are not aware of the endless sonic possibilites of wonderful mass market produced machines that the world is literally littered with. We are blessed in our age in that way - though in other ways we are cursed, of course.
+ludoWic music ..yes I did regrettably, to help fund a larger purchase, perhaps if I see another one for the right price down the track I'll grab it again...really digging the 202 here as well, another machine I've wanted for ever, had a 101 years and years ago and loved it..
+ludoWic music Hi bro, really cool sounding track, did you process the Jomox in any way or it just raw output ? Just curious if that compression and subtle overdrive comes from the machine itself or some post processing
+spin.the.֍ hey thanx man!! The jomox is going into a sovtek mig muff. That gives the distortion. The kick is too much for that pedal :-) so that gives the natural compression
+ludoWic music Ah the big muff one of my fav need to get the russian version back ! Owns a couple of vintage synth not as much as you do but however really cool music all analog that rock ass
+iamKiluka I recorded some endless single note drones on that tape. I play this with the Uher. During playback I use my hands to create that nice bending (dragging) notes. The Uher is going into the Strymon Bluesky
And my big 80's hair... Gone the way of all flesh alas! Still, I have a soldering iron and a handful of components and a little knowledge - which is not as dangerous as a lot of knowledge
Dude I bought my MC-202 a while back for $450 and then sold it for a few years later for $350 because I was desperate for money. I would kill to get it back, considering they are like $2k now!
this could easily be in the next katana zero game, and thanks to the game i discovered an awesome artist

Hey, how nice! Thanks!
Took awhile to get going but good once it did.
Holy God damn this is cool
thanks!
It’s amazing how every time i come back to these jams, i discover something new in the music and my favorite changes!

What I want to know is how you got that drone sound. It doesn't sound like anything I've heard before...
Thats my voice :-) sampled with a casio SK1 (through the strymon blue sky) recorded on reel to reel tape
@@ludoWicmusic Interesting, I'll have to try playing with that. Thanks for the inspiration!

@@telantas So nice to read this. And I agree, we are really blessed in this age in terms of sonic possibilities.
Good god dat beat.
Holy shit a bop
I'm betting this will be another track for the Katana ZERO DLC. It sounds like it can be a perfect fit after a few tweaks.
🤫🙂
@@ludoWicmusic ... No way...
Great, great sound! Does the Jomox produce those distorted drums or is it going through a pedal?
+stef25ify Thanks! The jomox is going through a sovtek big muff pedal. That's creating the distortion.
1:28 this is just 4 my personal use but u can use it too, if u like.
Being the 420th like is great, but all jokes aside your music is absolutely amazing please keep making more!
Thanks a lot!!
hah...just awesome again...oh but it makes me miss my Jomox now badly..:(
+fiddlestickz muzik Thanx man! The Jomox is a great (pretty affordable) machine. Did you sell yours?

this is so cool sounds like something from hotline miami
Thanks!
this sounds like a great Run The Jewels & Trent Reznor collaboration that doesn't exist but should
Is the reel to reel going into the knas?
+s lenn No, the MC202 is going into the KNAS. The reel to reel is going into the Strymon bluesky.
man touching the tape player while it's spinning to adjust the pitch! neat!
What do you use the Uher report for ? Echo or just tape saturation ?

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEEEAHHHHHHh!!!!!!!
звучит очень классно и я удивлен что все новые комментарии спустя 8 лет все еще читаются
Why oh why did I let go of my MC202? And my SH 09. And my TR 808. And my Juno 6. Just dumb!!
