Wilt’s accomplishments and athletic feats are so inconceivable-they get dismissed often. They don't seem humanly possible, so Wilt rarely gets mentioned as the best player to ever play the game. On a per-player basis, Wilt is the single greatest player to ever play. It's fair to expand the criteria to impact, such as championships, impact on the game's evolution, and revenue generation. However, at a production level and with an individual impact, Wilt is the best player ever to play the game. Run his stats side-by-side against anyone, and it will be as evident as night and day. That's how I see it.

and for the losses, he had to play in the playoffs the greatest dynasty of all tim ein basketball with the greatest coach of all time and 6-8 HOF's in their primes for a vast majority of that time including russel a top 10 player and even a bench player was in teh HOF on that team. until much later in his career he only had a coule HOF"s 1 at a time either ae rookeis aor way way past their prime.
wilt also didn't have very good coaches mostly. he did the 2 years he won.
he took the celtics to 4 game 7s. los tthem all by a grand total of 9 points
one game they lost becasue philly was down by 1 with 5-6 seconds lef tthey were supposed to inboud to wilt to quickly run down and dunk and win the game. but the guy misthrew the ball where Hondo intercepteed the ball ending the game
another one where wilt's team was up by 1. obostin shot the ball, bounced off the rim 10-12 feet high, came back on the rim roled around for awhile and went in.
a 3rd game 7 lost they were down by 2 (wilt's team) with 5 minutes left. 10 minutes before he flet he tweaked something and waned a copule minuteds of rest.
the coach Van Bredakov and he never got along so he told wilt they did not need him
they lost by 2. that coach was fired the next day

wilt was like having a height taller than shaq and stronger than shaq by a decent margin, with Jordan's vertical, athleticism of Lebron .
wilt would be the greatest athlete of all time if not for one man who was the most well rounded ahtlete of all time longer ago.
    Jim thrope. ,

Wilt was a physical anomaly. Way ahead of his time. He did things no player will ever do again. Most notably he averaged 48.5 minutes a game one season. Played all the ot games. Without modern training and dietary support. Imagine if he'd had all that.
