I think Zuko's crew being so intricately linked to the reason for his banishment adds a very interesting element/insight to Zuko's character. Despite all his outbursts and tantrums, he never once mentioned or that they owed him as the reason they were all still alive. Which, to me at least, shows to me that Zuko views it as just part of the responsibilities of being their leader; including that it is his role as a leader to bear it alone without placing the burden of such knowledge on the people he leads.
For those curious, Gyatso was played by Singaporean actor, Lim Kay Siu. IMO his performance was easily one of the highlights of the series. I feel he added a lot of life to and conveyed the weight the character had within the narrative; eliciting attachment and emotions from the audience in the limited screen time he had.
Dudddeee he was my fave too cus he reminded me so much of my late grandpa. Now I understand why cus he's basically frm a neighbouring country of mine and most of the old heads I knw are exactly like him too 😅
I really dign the spin that this adaption did with the 41st Division. This episode really displayed that under Zuko hothead and temperamental exterior, belies a young man who is an honor and passion warrior. Who cares about his men. The ending scene with Jee and the other soldiers made misty-eyed. One of my favorite aspects of Zuko is that he is a swordsman, and they did the Blue Spirit very well.
Next to the Kyoshi Warriors episode, this one was definitely a high-ranking one. Dallas is really killing it as Zuko, from the acting to the way he fights. He is really embodying the character. And when we get to the nitty-gritty of his character, I feel like he is going to do an even more excellent job. I can't wait to see how they adapted, Zuko Alone.
I agree that Zuko and Iroh’s relationship is the highlight of the season. The original animated series will always be my favorite, but I’m enjoying how this live action version is cherry-picking what it needs to tell the story the way they want to. I’ve been trying to figure out what feels so familiar about you guys and I think I’ve got it. Pretty sure I’m not the 1st to say this, but watching you 3 reminds me so much of G4. Especially with Morgan looking like Gina and Sam like Olivia. Dani reminds me a lot of an actress (not from G4) but I haven’t quite placed it.
😭 Knowing what we know from the OG we see Zuko was sleeping with his good side on the pillow, because he had Iroh and his crew to watch/look out for him.
imo the live action did a really good job in terms of General Zhao's character. Or atleast the actor did great portraying his version of General Zhao. He made it look like General Zhao is the type thts ambitious but nvr had real talent nor the hardwork to achieve much and would use any type of shortcut to get his way. Not just another hot head
I would say that Roku being goofy, was a good thing, i dont believe they dropped the ball. especially if youve never seen the show. They literaly had a conversation about how Aang thought all the Avatars are all robotic, and stiff. Which is not who Aang is, and is very conflicting for him. Having Roku being this way, gave Aang the permission to give himself the permission to be himself. Aang can still be fun. Even with the responsibility of being the Avatar. Was the lesson. It also would tell the audience that all avatars dont have to be serious. And they already saw that Aang was a fun kid. If Aang didnt realize this, we as fans would loose Aang
Yea to accommodate for gorodn and the other actors growing up, they kinda veered away from the comet coming at the end of summer so there can be a time jump in between Book 1 & 2 so the actors don’t look so much older tryna play 12 & 14 year olds. Sozins comet is still gonna be a thing, but just not a focus in book 1, but since we got renewed for the next 2 books, we will definitely see that come into play
So, here's something that puzzled me about the episode.... how did June get to Roku's Temple - which is on an island deep within Fire Nation - and back to the border colonies? And all, seemingly without a boat. 😁😁
I think with Roku, they might go back to the temple maybe to learn about other stuff, cause we get the whole Roku relationship stuff that comes up later. At least this is how I would handle it.
This adaptation of The Blue Spirit is done very well. Roku seems to be less informative than he was in the animation but hopefully we'll see more of Roku.
I feel like they might be holding off on the Roku stuff until we get to a point in the story where there’s a lot more focus on the Fire Nation and it’s current state and history. It might be when Aang is actually looking to start learning Firebending, or when the gang is actually hiding out in the Fire Nation. That way, the topic will be right there to talk more in depth about and give significant attention to, rather than bits and pieces scattered throughout the story as a whole. I know a few people who can’t remember things out of context an episode prior, let alone earlier in a season.
Naw, Miss Sam, you're not complaining at all. You're just a very passionate ATLA fan who is simply voicing her likes and dislikes about her series, which is very beloved to you. Please continue to voice your thoughts and feelings, I enjoy hearing them😁😁👍🏽👍🏽
I get your frustration with Roku’s appearance but to be completely fair, Roku’s whole thing is warning Aang about the comet but since that will be prolonged because of the actors growing up onscreen, there is nothing REALLY for him to do. They tried their best to tie him to Koh but I don’t think we should be too critical because Roku will appear again in the next seasons and have his time to shine.
Personally I wasn't a fan of the Netflix live action but I think the 41st division twist was the first time I actually felt like the live action IMPROVED something from the original
They completely messed up Roku in this live action series! Not only did they get his character wrong, but the actor seems totally miscast for the role...
Just watch the show this is not a shot for shot kids show full with filler and a scatter brain storytelling. If u want that u still have it just rewatch the kids show. The bones of the show is there told in a linear way not all over the place for the sake of it cuz that show was made for kids.

u ate with this ^^
@@fati3373They really did 🤣🤣
Dallas is special. They struck gold with him as Zuko.

one of the strongest episodes of the series, and a quick shout out to the actor who plays lieutenant jee, what a performance, flawless acting from him
Love everything they did with Zuko and Iroh and the rest of the fire nation

I can see it now but Sam looks more like Ovilee's big sister
@@MrSmee-vt7cy Hmm…I didn’t realize Ovilee had an older sister. Guess I need to look that up
@gebbie23 I meant that as a what if. I don't know if Ovilee has siblings or I'd an only child
😭 Knowing what we know from the OG we see Zuko was sleeping with his good side on the pillow, because he had Iroh and his crew to watch/look out for him.

Most ppl hated him, but I actually liked this Roku, he was cheeky and serious. I think we’ll definitely see him again for sure.

Fun fact: The actor who plays Ozai is older than the actor who plays Iroh. Daniel Dae Kim is 55 and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee is 51.

Oh shut up
U knw exactly how, "movie magic" 😂😂😂
She used a teleporter provide by the Editor, the true hero of cinematography.
of course Goku helped her out that was why XD
I'm certain Iroh and Zuko had June and her Weasel-Mole as a guest on Zuko's ship while looking for Aang
I think with Roku, they might go back to the temple maybe to learn about other stuff, cause we get the whole Roku relationship stuff that comes up later. At least this is how I would handle it.
I think they're gonna find out about the comet once they go to Wan shin ton's library
This adaptation of The Blue Spirit is done very well. Roku seems to be less informative than he was in the animation but hopefully we'll see more of Roku.
Best episode of the season! 🔥🔥🔥
Ep 2, 4, & 6 all top tier episode this season for me

i hope you're right, if they don't cut down some Roku's role to put Yangshang or something like that.

Zuko is literally becoming the best part of this show imo and it’s crazy cuz book 1 zuko wasn’t a favorite of mine !!
HAPPY SUNDAY IVE WATCH SEASON 1 ALREADY JUST HERE TO WATCH YOU'RE REACTION SEE YA ON THE NEXT ONE "SAM" "DANNI " AND " MORGAN " ❤❤❤
Isn’t it ironic that in the animated series Iroh flirted with June, and now it’s the opposite in the live action series?
Starting off Sunday the right way, Avatar and HxH
the best episode
The blue sprite fight scene was the only good thing about that movie
June is so mommy
My favorite episode
😍Dani🥰 YFG Fatso Reap The City.🌷My Little Brother.
Say what now?
