Absolutely nothing. The whole term of man machine is more of an in-universe cultural shift idea. Mobile weapons have been around for over 120 years at this point and they have a lot of different things used to describe them (mobile suits, mobile armors, mobile workers, psyco machines, mobile pods, etc,.) because these terrifying “humanoid” war weapons have been around for so long, people have become accustomed to them and to the idea that these things are simply just “MACHINES-MADE-BY-MAN” to kill men with. Mobile weapons are having a bit a of an identity crisis in Gaia Gear. One where they’ve been given this nickname by humanity; meant to describe how terrible the existence of such a weapon is.

What makes man-machines so different from mobile suits? As far i can tell the only difference is a name change and that the parts are relatively new.
