gee was what made them famous, yes...but ooooo this song was what REALLY made them famous... it solidified that they weren't some one hit wonders but that they were really a force to be reckoned with, this was the beginning of their peak imo, their true peak was in 2011-2014
but anyway, this is my favorite snsd title track and concept OF ALL TIME, i have yet to see any group do this concept like snsd did, sure some groups did do this marine girl type of concept, but they didn't quite do it like snsd imo (no hate just saying aaaaa)
and from here on we have officially reached the era of snsd where they were basically untouchable, it was because of snsd that so many girl groups debuted...especially in 2009 LOL which is what we know as "the girl group renaissance"
