superb sound. yeah.. this beosound balance is another level of speaker. very very superb. I have beoplay p2, a pair of A1, m3 and m5. ok, time to save and get the balance..
Thank you for the great Video. I could get a Balance for 2000€ or an a9 mk4 for 2800€. Would you say its worth the step up in price ? Does the Balance sounds much smaller in terms of soundstage ? ( I have a small room) Thank you in advance :)
Thank you for the very informative videos, really appreciated! A quick question on this new beauty: how does it compare with Beosound 2 in terms of the sound clarity and quality (not the total power) when considering a standard living room usage conditions? I am not a fan of bass heavy speakers, on which this product seems to be a monster!? Thanks in advance.
clarity is similar, slightly different as the BS2 has an ALT lens. In terms of total audio quality I think the Balance wins as it resolves more of the sounds and up to a much higher volume too without distortion. The balance has an EQ so if you really hate bass you can pull it back, but it's not like it interjects a bunch of bass in music that has very little bass so to say. It's not a ''beats by dre'' kinda product :p
Hello Mikipedia! Thank you for uploading wonderful sound test videos. I’m considering Beosound 2 or Beosound Balance now. Which one sounds better when played at low volume? In the housing situation in Japan, a speaker that can produce good quality sound even with a small sound is required.
They both play well at low volume, all B&O speakers do really well at low volume. If you’re purely after sound then the beosound balance is the winner. To me the style of the bs2 is too iconic to ignore though, both are good speakers for sure but as purely the sound from the speaker the balance wins in this category no question about it. :) hope it helps?
@@Mikipedia The sound is better with Balance, but I really like the BS2 design. Moreover, both are the same price. Hmm.., I'm in trouble because I want both. Anyway, your advice was very helpful. I respect your love for B&O. Mikipedia-san thank you for your reply:)
@@TaKe4028 Domo arigato gozaimasu Sierra-san! The Beosound 2 is fantastic too, I have it and love it and the design is super iconic obviously, not a bad choice at all! :D
Hello my friend. How do you think It's compare to the b&o level or a stereo pair of level , It's almost the same price. Is the balance better sounding than a stereo pair of levels ? And is it twice the price better sounding than a mono level? Thanks for the video Cheers!
That's a whole video in and of itself to fully explain it, but the Balance is better for sure but not portable. I personally like the idea of the level more and if you can buy two I don't see any reason not to do that. The Balance sounds a lot better and goes deeper than the Level, but it's not as pretty or as versatile as the Level. If you can get two Level's I'd say go for it, if you want one device for massive sound, go for the Balance. I am still biased towards the Level though, I love it!
@@Mikipedia Hello again! I had one level at home for some days, wonderful sounding but with some limitations , alone it didn't present stereo particulary good , and in big rooms it had a hotspot with like a 3-m2 , outside that zoone it looses much bass and sounds a Little Odd , also if volume is over 50% in some tunes the bass will go bananas. In smaller rooms and at lo-level listening It's absolutley amazing! So My question to you, how Good is the balance stereo presentation? And dose it sounds evenly in larger rooms? Dynamics and imaging good? Soundstage? I can get a demo balace for just 200€ more than a new level.
@@ScoobaGreek The Balance to my ears isn't any better at stereo as there is even less separation between left and right. It sounds great and certainly has a lot more bass, but personally I would still prefer the level. Then again that's just me, is there a way you can listen to them irl before buying?
You're welcome! What else do you have and want to do with it? Depending on that answer I would probably steer you to two Balances myself. (I have 18's but they are connected to a Beovision)
@@Mikipedia Thanks for your reply! I'm currently using Onkyo RZ50 + Buchardt S400 MKII as front speakers + KEF LS50 Meta as surround speakers / zone b + SVS 3000 Micro in the living room, and Sony HT-A9 with 300w sub in the bedroom. I'm thinking of getting rid of one of the two systems and replacing it with either the Beosound Balance or the the Beolab 18s. (Or any other B&O products that you might recommend as you seem to be an expert on their products). I'm thinking it would most likely replace the Sony HT-A9 out of the two setups
A pair of Balances are best used for music because of the built in delay for room correction etc. It can work over airplay with an apple tv, but they aren't as pure a speaker like a beolab 18. But a beolab 18 doesn't have a streamer and room correction built in etc. Personally I would say that if you want things connected to a TV/Beovision type product, just wait for a bit. Like a week or two and a potential solution should be presented if the leaks seem accurate :p
Hi. Thanks for another great video. The balance is a beautiful looking system and from what you’re saying ( and what I can tell from the video) has stunning sound. If you place it against a wall or in a corner does it actually have stereo sound? If so that’s quite a feature. I do struggle slightly with the price and where it fits in the current line up with the Beosound 2, Stage, A9 and even M5. I know they are all different in their own right but that corner of the market is certainly well catered for. Also what is the name of the artist on the first track? It’s the blend of the Foo Fighters ‘Everlong’ and ‘What you won’t do for love’ ? I tried using Shazam to find it but no result. Thanks.
Hi Roger, first the song, you can find it here: th-cam.com/video/Gl9GtO_vQxw/w-d-xo.html The Balance's ideal place i feel is against the wall (not corner or free) because you still get stereo and it uses it's rear facing drivers to enhance the forward firing music. It does this perfectly by using the room compensation on board. The Balance is much closer to an A9 than it is to the BS2, so you get near A9 performance for BS2 pricing basically and it's much easier to place in any space as it's not so enormous, but the sound surely is :D
Thanks. I’m looking forward to hearing the balance sometime although when that will be I really don’t know given the current situation with Coronavirus. Stay safe everyone. PS just watched the video. Wow she is talented!
They would probably be better when you look at the total package. The Beolab 17's certainly have their strengths but the Balance has so much tech that's it's more competitive in more places. Personally I love the look of the 17's though :p
if you want the max in sound out of something this size then go for the Balance, if you want something that's not far behind in sound but super pretty to look at go for the Beosound 2. There are really no bad choices here honestly!
I think the A9 mk3 slightly edges it because of it's size, so you get more natural stereo separation and the power goes a bit further. But the room correction and power in a package this small is seriously impressive, so if you have limited floorspace it's a really easy choice, but I do love the look of the A9 more personally. So it's a give and take but you're good for now ;)
that really depends, I do feel you can go much louder on the Balance before the anything starts vibrating. The M5's tend to be too light weight for most modern music being played loudly, the speaker starts to cause vibrations etc in my experience. But it's a tough call, never had the chance to compare them directly and especially not against two M5's. Do you have any either?
Mikipedia I have experience with both, and the balance at the moment is the best speaker between these choices. When you go to the A9 and Edge they are again slightly better but at an increased price. The M5, however good it might sound for 600€ speakers, 2 of them don’t beat one balance. In person the speaker sounds fenomenal. After some slight playing with tweaking sound settings you might even be able to make it more perfect.
yeah, the Balance is mighty close to an A9. If you have a dealer near you I would advise to go visit them and try it for yourself :D in my video the volume is set to about 50% and any higher and it blows out any mic i have tried so far and they're not cheap ones either :p

The same for it not need wires. It is wireless with bluetooth. And it is cost $ 700-800! I think, it's not worth it.
that's totally up to you mate, I don't think you can compare them with out trying them both out. also there is the design, but that's an even more personal thing. One thing that's for sure is that the Beosound Balance can fill your room with easy and listening to music with cooking is no problem at all, if anything since it can be voice activated it might actually be easier :p
