    Nice.👍🏾
    Im see very similar concepts to what i learn from FMA & Silat.
    Although, i would go as far as to say "my arm belongs to me... and if he grabs me, then his arm also belongs to me."

    Love how in every defense you are controlling the attackers centerline, so they have minimal power to move and counter. Real fights aren't "pretty" or like in a movie. Attack quickly in defense, hit them where it hurts. Be aware of anyone on anything or psychotic as they're likely to feel less pain. Be careful, stay safe

    Awesome- good realistic speed on this demo. It's challenging to train myself to come in against that cross, but to jam it like that works. The force is more towards the end of the punch, not as much in the beginning stages of it.

  • @TheStrataminor

    Ok as a long term martial art practitioner and critic, I have to say I like this. This would work in a street attack, would protect you and make the assailant rethink about continuing. Nothing flowery, nothing too hard or long (like Aikido..)...techniques that you can learn on your first visit to a class and practice everyday! Nice!!

    • @dwddindin
      @dwddindin 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you knew anything about martial arts you would know a "itty bitty hammer fist" is actually very useful. You think because it comes from a short distance and looks soft that it wouldn't work but there's allot to those methods that you don't know.

  • @Veepee92
    @Veepee92 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I can't agree to the first combination. The only possibility of jamming a right cross with your own right hand is when you are not being hit with intention. A right cross never crosses the center line and the defending hand does not seem to do that either (to catch the cross from the farther side), ergo the "attacker" is not intending to connect with that punch but is deliberately missing.
    But hey, people do that since we don't want to hurt each other.

    For that first movement, wouldn't it be quicker to parry with the forearm, quickly transitioning into a Tong Long Sao to grab his forearm (simple 45-degree inward turn from the shoulder followed by what I can best describe as a down-and-out plucking move), then either counter-attacking immediately with the left hand or putting them in an arm lock? I see others have been pointing out the flaws of this move, but that cross is still realistic. Overall, great video, keep up the great work.

    I have subscribed. I like the Southern Praying Mantis (SPM) kung fu system. Just some constructive feedback. I could write more later. There is/are better ways dealing with the arm grab. The SPM blocking and attacking techniques demonstrated here may work against an opponent with limited fighting ability. Could you make a video of how to deal with opponents who are skilled in Wing Chun and boxing? Thanks.

    These are okay techniques, you’d have to drill them for a long time to become second nature. In a real situation your Adrenalin will be pumping its often involuntary, and you will remember nothing of your fine motor movements. It’s only gross motor movement that will save you if you can’t get away .

    it all looks good when it’s prearranged.. You know Who is coming when it’s coming and how it’s coming. We really have to put on headgear and have a real life situation . It’s easy to fight people less experienced and people that have no idea what we are going to do And that have no idea what they are doing themselves. We need to get in the ring with a real boxer We need to get hit fast and hard in order for us to come to the realization that you can or can not put it to use. Fighting is fighting no matter what you practice! Don’t waste your time, money and energy ☮️

    When people are making videos about self-defense, they rarely take into account the stress and anxiety one experiences when another party is trying to harm you in an unrehearsed manner. Sometimes people can get overwhelmed by the circumstance and freeze like a deer in headlights. So the techniques to be applied must be practical, realistic, and designed to stop someone with bad intentions.

    • @yymjyyobjka1302
      @yymjyyobjka1302 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      In this short time, no teaching on removing stress and anxiety can be taught together with the martial art manoeuvers. The psychological aspect is left for another lesson. You want him to be a psychologist also?
      His techniques are practical, only accepted by ones who have no pre-assumed mental blocks or baggages .

    • @cliffordhill2365
      @cliffordhill2365 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand what you're saying, but I feel it's an instructors responsibility to equip a student for a realistic encounter and if it takes learning what I'm talking about, it would distinguish the difference between a good instructor and a great one, and could possibly save ones life.

    1st technique demonstrated seems overly convoluted. Waiting for the other person to strike thrice before reacting offensively is stupid. You have no way of knowing whether they will follow up that jab with a straight or not. Deciding to block only without simultaneously attacking will just end up with you always blocking and never striking back. It is a bad mentality.

      If you have ever had some one come at you, then you will realize that at times you have to neutralize multiple attacks effectively even before your brain can analyze and react. If the guy trying to hurt you is any good, you need to know how to neutralize multiple attacks instinctively and with as little effort as possible so that you can react.

    • @chineseboxer9991
      @chineseboxer9991 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Carl Millegan if your brain needs time to analyze you havnt trained hard enough. these things should be trained to a point where they are natural reaction. like pulling your hand from a hotplate. so as soon as you recieve any sensory information (most likely from your eyes) your first reaction (as a result of it being drilled into you) should be to knock the fucker out. not try to "defend" and ward off his attacks. puts you multiple steps behind. and continuously on the defensive which is where you will stay like a sitting duck as the attacker get more and more aggressive. put out the match before it becomes a house fire. at most you should only be ONE step behind if the attack was completely out of the blue. but quickly and agressivley take back the initiative. :)

      Before getting into real fights, learning is a must. After learning, the techniques can be developed, modified and adapted by the learner. But the learner has to have a humble ego at first, not an arrogant ego which criticizes first.

    • @kingyu6417

      There we go again, spend lots of money to learn these rubbish techniques first, then get killed out there. You need to get into real fights and get beat up a few times to really learn, this will truly remove any ego, not by hanging out with these BS self proclaimed masters who posses the biggest ego of all. How many real fights have you gotten into? I know, none, so shut the F up and be really respectful as for how you speak to me, at where I train, there's an open door policy, anytime my friend, this is possible because we don't have an ego, lets see what can I learn from you? This guy will get you killed, please don't try to learn how to fight from his youtube video. Go find a decent instructor who teaches you practical methods that are simple and require as little thought as possible. This won't work on a fight, you'll just be shitting yourself and getting punched in the face while you desperately try to do moves that only apply to specific kinds of attacks.
    If some dude is on PCP, he's not going to attack you like the stand in above. He's going to start stabbing you to death in every direction possibly like a fucking whirlwind. Learn to either run, shoot a gun or hit like a bus.
