    Letting Go is a life changing book. I discovered him this week to my big surprise. I've been in the spiritual path for 12 years where I've read many spiritual books. It's only now, for some odd reason, that I finally discovered him. Everything he says makes sense because I have both heard and read it elsewhere. But Hawkins style is so simple, clear, precise and yet super profound. It's exactly what I needed to read to truly fully practice letting go and surrendering at a deep level. I did in the last 12 years, but not like this. No one, absolutely no one that I've heard explains the process of letting and surrendering better that David Hawkins.
    You do have to believe in God and consciousness to truly appreciate his work. What is amazing about Hawkins is that not only is he a scholar, psychologist and psychiatrist, he's also an enlightened being who experienced the highest levels of spiritual states. That is a beautiful combination and his book is super powerful because of that. Because he's a scholar, he has all the langauge to explain things in a professional way, but because he was enlightened, he could balance the intellect with a deep experiential spiritual knowledge. This is something that can't be faked or pretended. Either you have it or you don't. Hawkins has it and in spades.

    All of psychiatry was considered pseudo-science at its onset. After Freud, Jung, and now David Hawkins , Thich Nhat Hanh, internet, merger of Eastern and Western religious thought, metaphysics, etc., society is becoming more aware how important psychological healing is. I live in America and have had the good fortune to attend a non-denominational spiritual church where I was introduced to Dr. David Hawkins in a class as we studied his book Power vs. Force. I have just begun reading Letting Go. Thank you for this video.

    I recently discovered the book Letting Go. I’ve only heard the first 4 chapters in an audio on TH-cam and read 80 pages free online. Being raised in a strict religion and having rejected a lot of it for now as it’s abusive aspects trigger PTSD symptoms I have a tendency to become dogmatic and myopic, as you mentioned, and always on the verge of chucking out the whole work if it rubs against a belief. So thank you for making that point. To take what works, what resonates and let go the rest, if need be. You made some really good points in here. About being vs doing, not being a victim, taking responsibility. So thank you. I saved this to my playlist under Dr Hawkins Letting Go.

    You’ve articulated this and your experience/insight/perspective in a really clear way. I haven’t read Letting Go just Power Vs Force but really would like to read it now. Couldn’t agree more with the comment about not throwing the baby out with the bath water when it comes to different works/books. As if one inconsistency invalidates the entire thing. I see people doing that with other people so much. Following that logic, we couldn’t trust any author or book. Currently I’m trying to be thankful for the people and experiences that illuminate the parts of me that are the most stuck or rigid that I still need to let go. But something you said here was a helpful reminder: First allow all emotions as a valid experience. Rather than judging yourself for example for being not spiritual or evolved enough in certain areas. Thank you for sharing your experience!

    I started trascendental meditation by the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi many years ago, and I got amazing experiences the first day and in the group retirements I had, but I couldn’t practice it everyday because I barely had privacy, so I Stoped getting the benefits. I discovered Dr. Hawkins technique recently and been practicing for a couple weeks. Haven’t had the same results but I’ve been persistent and I think I’m in the right path. I also like the fact that this meditation is free from the mysticism of the Indian religions. Nothing agains that, I just have a different set of beliefs.
    I hope I could find a meditation group near my town.

    I feel this book is very useful. I also study the teaching of another teacher, Sunny Sharma. Very helpful too for those who are spiritually inclined and willing to mediate daily. What you mention about the mind is the root cause of the issue imho, too much attention is paid to thoughts just because you have them all day but its all just garbage, not reality, just concepts, forms, ideas created, etc. Not easy to detach from the mind as its always on and to detach is not easy, takes practice.

      The Sedona Method is great... i actually found myself lately drawn to work with it for a while, after learning of Dr. Hawkins' connection to it through that lately released interview.
      But listening to L. Levenson's recordings (On YT), i can get some kind of intuitive sense of the difference between his and Doc's attitudes ...
      It still isn't available for me to articulate in words, but there is a kind of "tension" that i come out with after listening to Lester- that i don't feel with Doc.
      At least- this is how i experience it at this point :)

      The essence is to simply allow the feeling to arise as fully as possible. Breathe deeply into the abdomen and open yourself to whatever wants to come up. It can be useful to breathe in through nose and out through mouth. Depending what is then coming up, you may cry, sob, writhe, laugh, shake, scream into a pillow, pound your fists on the bed, and so on. Hold space for whatever needs to happen; feel the feelings fully without judging them. If you find you need an additional catalyst for emotional clearing/release, look into Transformational Breathwork, other forms of breathwork, try singing/rapping loudly to an emotional song, dancing fiercely, martial arts, other movement practices, journaling, and so on. 💙

    • @Infinitybein
      @Infinitybein 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also try putting your hand where the sensation is and just breathe. That's ut....let the emotion "talk". You are only holding space until it releases or let's go.

    • @1napoleon1
      @1napoleon1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello. I resonate with your description. I have also some sensations in my chest manifesting sometimes, now less powerful than before. They are all the stuck feelings/emotions/stuck life energy. Yes, as Jordan explains it is important for these sensations to arise the way they are without trying to modify anything within as it manifests. You need to focus purely on sensations the way they manifest. Focus on your feelings. Just observe the sensations, accept them the way they are and also have the acceptance to let them pass away whenever they start dissolving, do not hold them. The last one is essential in order to make the method work.

    Would letting go work for social anxiety? Would I just imagine a situation and observe the feeling without judgement and then what?

    • @jordanbates111
      @jordanbates111 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yes, you could imagine one, or you could wait till your social anxiety has been triggered and then work with the feelings once you get home or to a place where you can be alone and lie down. Yes, in essence you allow the feelings to come up, drop your thoughts and narratives about them, and just feel them in your body as purely and deeply as you can, feeling as much as you can. You hold them in a space of unconditional non-judgment, acceptance, and love. This gradually releases, heals, and transmutes them.
