@@luketilley9137 I'd recommend a lavender orpington roo instead - crossing his lavender gene with your jersey girls will probably make for beautiful plumage in the chicks! Same benefits of a good roo, but with pretty babies
Gorgeous birds, our chicks are arriving next week and we cannot wait! Having good personalities is #1 on our list, we cant keep mean roosters but we want a sustainable flock.
Are you talking about the white tarp that we use on the coop? If so, you can see that in the pinned comment at the top of the comment section titled…🐓 Mobile Coop Plans & Supplies It’s also at the top of the description on the video. Thanks for watching!
They typically stay in unless they get startled and sometimes one or two will fly over. They usually try to get back in by walking the fence line though. We do have one girl that jumps over the fence regularly lays an egg and then jumps back in. 😂
Our Bielefelder rooster is very aggressive. I have to carry a broom when I do anything with the hens. He charges at us and is always doing his dance warning us he is not liking us on his turf. Every chance he gets he will charge after us even when we are walking away. The most docile rooster we have owned is the lavender Orpington. Nothing compares to the sweet temper and friendliness of the lavender Orpington. I am disappointed in the Bielefelder.
Order Bielefelders here: bit.ly/40qnPUf
i went with buff orpingtons for their temperment and semi dual purposeness , i love my chickens.
Nice! We have some buffs too and they’re great girls.
Been thinking about putting a buff rooster over some jersey giant hens. Seen some a while back and they are beautiful birds

Congrats! If you haven’t yet, watch our video about things you need to know before getting chickens.
They're beautiful! Especially him!
Thank you! They are great birds!
ive read that the stop laying quicker than other breeds. thoughts?
Thanks for commenting!
I think a lot of factors can go into why birds stop laying, but we've not experienced that.
Never heard of Bielefelder breed - we have rhode island reds, Plymouth barred, easter egger, and golden comets!
Those are all nice birds and we've had a few of those too! We got Bielefelders a few years back and really enjoy them.
Do you have the Bantum Bielefelders yet??
No we don’t. We do have some hawks here and there, so I’m concerned that they would get attacked. all of our birds are full sized. Do you like them?
@SevenSparrowsFarm I do! Im getting the bantum version soon.
Where did you get your chicken tent? That would be so useful for raising cornish crosses.

@@SevenSparrowsFarm yes, thank you.
@@alannatiernan9769 nice! They are great tarps and we’ve really enjoyed them. Make sure to zip tie them securely in case you get a really windy day.
How do you keep them in with that short fencing?

Sorry to hear that
