You could also use a swivel clip to put on your drone hook so you don’t have to worry about a bad knot making a weak spot in your line and possibly losing a big fish and it’d come off just as easy as the line
Awsome video. Make sure you have your antennas facing the drone. Flat service pointed straight up. If their straight out, you have most of your signal going into the ground.
I have A DJI Spark with 3 batteries I have put a 3M hook on each battery It has had very little use so now I am only using it for fishing Being a older drone I am not scared to lose it It actually works really well as a fishing drone Thank you for sharing this trick Saved me over a grand 300m no problem 180 to 250 gram load is comfortable It can lift more But I don't want to push it

Next Tuesday going to the beach with drone and will use your technics . The only concern is if the weight will be too much the knot won’t let you go off the hook . 🇬🇧

Even if that was controlled airspace where he was at, I doubt they'd care because he's barely at 15 MSL. Speaking technically I guess you could be cited. They could probably approve him up to 100-150 MSL if he does a LAANC request because it doesn't look like he's anywhere near a runway.
Yeah really,I just commented that.Hell I can cast that far, actually near 150yds with my 7'6" cat rod 4500 Emcast 30lb braid and 2oz bank sinker +cut bait.200 with 3oz bank sinker.
I know im asking randomly but does anyone know a trick to log back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost the password. I would love any tips you can offer me
@Stephen Gideon I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Only improvement I'd make is doing a slipknot, make a loop and twist it 180 degrees and feed some line through it to make the useful loop. That way when you're done drone fishing you can pull from either side of the knot and it will disappear(: Great video! Going to try this soon with my DJI Phantom
I heard that people in China were doing this from their apartments since they were not allowed to leave their homes to go shopping during covid. Pretty clever actually, but I'll bet it's pretty rough dragging a fish across the parking lot and up to the 4th story window.
My mavic 3 cine had software glitch, plummeted into ocean, line broke, 5k drone gone, DJI is not taking responsibility, blaming pilot error, i carried less than 100 grams of weight, some how drone thought i was on land and black box data showed it forced landing, but it didnt show on my rc controller any forced landing, it just changed its flight into vertical trajectory and spirallled down
I could see using this drone for fishing small fish like bluegill. However, a large fish -- a muskie, walleye or Northern -- would pull the drone into the water.
Drone? 300 Feet? The surf fishermen in NE Florida don’t need no stinking drone to fish 300 feet off of the beach. I’m 71 years old and can cast the bait and a 5 oz. weight 300 feet out into the surf from the beach. (My best tournament cast a few years back was 450 feet.) Even then I was way far behind many of the youngsters who could really sling it out there. Tommy Farmer set a record of 839.24 feet. If you want to impress us, take your drone out at least 900 feet.
I don’t think your downward sensors are on at all. From my experience with my Mavic Pro, it doesn’t land so quick and easy into my hand with the downward sensors on, it tries to pull away for a few seconds and I gotta hold down on the stick, and hold onto Mavic so it doesn’t fly away from my hand.
To drone fish you just Tech um out of the water. Kite fishing works as well as any drone, maybe requiring a higher fishing knowledge. When the fish strikes the kite rises. Nice and quiet. Been practiced for some thousands of years. Drone shooting sounds like fun....I. Wazir
Would a second small sinker tied a few feed up the line from where it’s hooked to the drone work? That would hold the line down away from the blades too no?

Sitting here minding my own business next thing my mate and I have bought a drone each. Both of us decrepid old fisho"s. Thank you for the two vids.
Cool video man.. is it legal to use drone for fishing .. you know DNR always picky ..I would like to use it in Lake Michigan

You said thr metal interfere with the sensor, can you use a carbon fiber hook?
i never thought of that, but its not really a cost effective option. this is for cheapies like me haha
Awesome idea, bro!
I wonder if something like this possible to do with DJI Mini 2...
I wouldnt count on carrying very much weight. The Mavic is already limited its kind of a scary experience haha

Can it carry a 4oz or even 5 oz weight for wen the water is really moving?
This is brilliant and crazy at the same time. Bravo.

will work but there are risks!
He copied it from my video, not his idea. Gotta love people who take others people's ideas and claim them as thier own.

Great video. Saves the money on using the garmin line release which I've heard aint cheap. Oh by the way I thought the music was cool.
It has been a couple years since you posted this video any advice for someone considering this ?
Thats a good idea. I actually have a live video of me drone fishing with live bait
Great! Which drone model is good for that?
Its a DJI Mavic
Hey, thanks for your video !
What brand is that drone ? Can I get it online ?
Tks
i think its a mavic pro and if it is you can
He did say MAVIC like a few times
How may lb braid we’re you using
You could turn your drag low and take off to keep minimum tension to help not spool your like or your rod holes
Thanks alot mate, you just safe my money 💰. I’m really inspired by this idea and can’t wait to hit the shoreline next week. Have a great day

Can you do this with a DJi fly 3 drone
Hy Colton, here is Markus from Vienna ...do You remember ? 2006 Hawaii ???? Whats up with Bob You Cousin??
What’s up bro! Let’s catch up! Bob and I were trying to look you up a couple years back. The famous work traveler
You just need to roll the drone and it will fall by itself?
This is a great idea! I use gonna use a a clothes pin to hold my line. I'm gonna give it a shot.
Nice video! I am going to copy what you did!
Thank You

Bro 5:37 you said “Cut’n into strips like this”… that’s funny. 😂 Cool video though. Looks fun.
The loop in the line is a serious weak point... but I guess all the systems work like this? Can you do it without make a loop?
good question, give it a shot!
Use some PVA tape to tie to line. The PVA melts with contact of the water. No weak spots then...
You still drone fish with this drone? Caught any big ones?
Awesome.. So high-tec fishing... How many ounce is the sinker? What is the model maker for this drone?.. Love do that some day..
it looks like a 1.5 oz and this is a dji mavic pro
How much weight can it carry? Can it haul a big opelu?
I think it can haul a pound, but i wouldnt go much higher than that, unless you dont like your drone

Mike from Winona you can try using a slip knot, but I found it grips the clothes hanger too hard and won’t come off.
Going to try this with my Mavic Air this weekend. Wish me luck.

Can you easily swap out spare batteries?
The release mechanism made by Gannet in South Africa is the best

a solenoid release would work for this, just use a metal tab on the line float.
How much weight can that drone handle ?
I wouldnt go higher than a pound.
How did this find fish?
Was the name of the drone
what model and how much is the drone. Thanks
Its the Mavic 2 i think. Or just the regular Mavic. Idk its old

I'll have to film that part. Ill post an update

Yes it does…
What did you use to secure the hook to the drone ?
Tony Keo over hand knot in the line
Did u use an adhesive like 3M tape for the hook to drone ?
This looks like so much fun.
But it's sad when you lose your drone
