    I lived in Japan for a few years and the health service over there is on a completely different level to ours. Almost made a mockery of this idea that the NHS is the pride of Britain. It's not the pride of Britain, it's the unfortunate shame of Britain.

    • @sunseeker9581
      @sunseeker9581 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Because it gets hardly any funding. This has been the case for decades. Weapons of war are valued more highly

    • @kriissyy09ify
      @kriissyy09ify 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sunseeker9581 bit of a nonsense take. We're currently underfunding both the NHS and our defence budget. Why? Because Brits have been brainwashed for decades to believe it's a bad thing to have high taxes and high taxes equate to poor standard of living.
      We want world class public services while also having low taxes, yet we don't want to pay for those public services which cause them to collapse.

      @@sunseeker9581”hardly any funding” the NHS budget has gone up billions each year! It’s an inefficient wasteful money pit and a better model is needed

      @@BossySwan Okay, that is, quite frankly a misleading statement, in short a Tory lie. Lets look at facts: Average day-to-day health spending in the UK between 2010 and 2019 was £3,005 per person - 18% below the EU14 average of £3,655. Also, matching spending per head to France or Germany would have led to an additional £40bn and £73bn (21% to 39% increase respectively) of total health spending each year in the UK.
      Over the past decade, the UK had a lower level of capital investment in health care compared with the EU14 countries for which data are available. Between 2010 and 2019, average health capital investment in the UK was £5.8bn a year. If the UK had matched other EU14 countries’ average investment in health capital (as a share of GDP), the UK would have invested £33bn more between 2010 and 2019 (around 55% higher than actual investment during that period). So dont be fooled by Tory Party lies. They are a vile bunch of greedy, corrupt villians who, in some cases, quite frankly should be in jail.

    You are going to do your best to privatise the lot! The hospital where you were treated Wes is now pretty well under private hands . You do not have a clue. You are taking private health companies money to fund your campaign. I stand to be corrected if this not true. Most people would prefer to pay a direct tax to fund the NHS instead of our money being split into funding wars e.g Israel/ Gaza

    • @notsoaveragejoe7275
      @notsoaveragejoe7275 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Where in their manifesto does it say they will do their best to privatise the lot? When Labour were in power the NHS was a world leading example of how to properly run a National health servicc. Waiting lists were consistently shorter than they had ever been. People forget this. Then went downhill in 2010. Because of Iraq everyone likes to forget the good New Labour did. The Tories, who began the Thatcherite economics of mass privatisation, have been in power for the last 14 years and they've done their best to bring it to it's knees. Do you seriously believe Labour will make it worse. Tell me with a straight face and just vote for more of the same thing

    It would seem Mr Streeting is one of the many millions in the UK who have no idea of the difference between tax 'avoidance' and 'evasion'. Labour were the worst instigators of tax avoidance with their credit scheme. The basic tax free system for earners under certain thresholds is part of 'avoidance'.
