Currently JULY 2024 I live in Queens NYC. I’m currently on Active Duty in Germany. While here I bought a car from another Soldier that was leaving when I arrived to my base 8 months ago. The car is a 1997 Mercedes E230 with a “CASSETTE DECK”!! I had my boy go to my apartment and grab a small box of cassettes that are from the early 2000’s. I used to record live broadcasts from KTU: Morning shows like the Balt Busters/Friday night & Saturday night Dance parties. All the Levels. If you know you know. Even shows from 92.7 WLIR (Long Island) Sunday nights “The Island Underground” and Monday nights “In the Mix”!! Both KTU and WLIR were BANGING OUT BEATS 🔊🔊🔊 that we loved. Couldn’t get enough of House and Dance back then. And if anyone reading this was the same way… I’m sure you went to the Sound Factory!! Well,… at least I did 😎. Anyway… It’s the 5th of July 2024 now out here in Germany. I was listening to my tapes in the Benz this morning… when I got back to my barracks room, I needed more beats and found this KTU upload. Brings me back!!! Late 90, to mid 2000’s were prime time for dance/house music!! I’m lucky I lived through these times with the music and the scene in NYC (Hamptons/ Jersey Shore included). As we all know the scene started to change mid to late 2000’s. Pretty sad. We ( who ever experienced/lived the scene through these times) are the lucky ones!! Today’s scene has NO IDEA about what the real NYC NIGHT LIFE was about! Zero idea!!! Anyway … “It’s all about the music” 🔊🔊 That’s all I got for now. CARRY ON!! God Bless 🇺🇸. Crazy times right now in our Country. Need TRUMP ACTION!!
I love these mixes. If anyone else feels so inclined, we appreciate it haha. Nyc summer time 90s 2000s pre cell phone days had the most salient zeitgeist
This music takes me back to the summer of 99. A care free time where my buddies and I would ride our bikes and run home before sunset so we could all chat on AIM or AOL and KTU would be blasting on my radio. The only worry I had was what would Y2K do to my computer… simpler times I miss
I remember this station used to play a lot of good underground retro music back in the days. I miss the Saturday Nights Clubhouse before this station went top 40 commercial.
Not me remembering my fav station as a kid and looking for the mix to tune out toooo 🔥🔥🔥 ME AND MY LITTLE SISTER wanted to be a DJ 🎧 WE WOULD HOST THE KID PARTY FROM OUR RADIO AND USE PLATES AS THE TURN TABLES WHILE OUR COUsins DANCED AND JUMPED 🎧🎧😂😂😂😂 party is life
That was actually an unaccredited white label [vinyl only] bootleg remix. It was thee dopest mix of BIG LOVE. I would consider it fairly obscure today.
if the New KTU, could had sticked to at least the classic Hot 103 that Later became HOT-97 (before they became a Hip-Hop station) it would be the best station.. but too much pop music, and forgot the reason why we needed a dance station, they dont even have a Freestyle section in their programming... and dont even have a Dance party like HOT 103 with great DJ's like Scott Blackwell, Glenn Frisha and so many more...
I used to bring a radio to the station and record the shows while I was on the air. Sometimes my dad recorded them for me at home when I wasn't able to do so.
I agree. This was originally recorded off the radio onto a cassette tape about twelve years ago. l tried cleaning it up the best I could after uploading it. High quilty sound shouldn't be expected, but your ears should aclimate to it after a few minutes or so. This may be a bit better for you [Sound Wise] -----> soundcloud.com/the-basement-bombers/mega-mix-mashup

Best radio station ever. I heard them while growing up in the Bronx in the early 1980s.
You have good taste!
Memorial days havent been the same, especially this one 2023

Amazing ! Miss this type music !!! Thank you
Thanks for listening~
Only in New York
Wow... I remember staying up recording the levels of house music on 103.5 level 2-5 were the best.
Same 👊🏼😎
Gumba Jonny and the freestyle free-for-all!!! Since I was a kid til now I'm a 31 year old
I love New York! KTU for life!
This station got us doing what we do today. Long live this era of KTU.
Omg This is when I started going to clubs in NYC when I was 18-24
Indeed…NYC…dopest place on the planet.
>The beat of New York < with the basement bombers!!! now that's the shit long live those times ALWAYS!!!
This is a cool mix, kind of a underground tribal Latin vibe with big room sounds. I’m from Chicago so this falls into our wheelhouse.
I dig your wheelhouse.
I remember this station used to play a lot of good underground retro music back in the days. I miss the Saturday Nights Clubhouse before this station went top 40 commercial.
I remember the station they played the best damn music back in my days would love to listen to this shit

I miss this KTU format so much. So hard to find this in a radio station now a days.
Dope a.f! Keep it coming...
This video is pure hype inspiration!
at 24:30 the drop into that track is perfect - & 'the one' track is so good
Not the WKTU of yore when they first came on air (from being a ROCK format) to compete with Frankie Crocker's WBLS!
That "Big Love" with " You are the one for me" was perfect.... good job boys..
That was actually an unaccredited white label [vinyl only] bootleg remix. It was thee dopest mix of BIG LOVE. I would consider it fairly obscure today.
Desde 2011 algo sucedio con la radio, muchas estaciones de radio donde pasaba musica dance desaparecieron y programas de shows de dj tambien
I never forget you guys

QUE RICO!!!
They should play this on all radio stations. Minus the drug scene.
Drugs are bad.
PARABÉNS MUITO BOM!

It's a good thing we recorded and preserved what we could because without it, most people wouldn't know what a great era of music they missed.
The best you can the world
Ktu... That would never ever come close to WBLS.. with KEVIN HEADGE on Friday's.. that's when you know the weekend I here....
I dig Kevin Headge. 👍
the classicssss!!!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
two thumbs UP
Did you recorded or something? Like how did you get these songs from the radio? I’m wondering if you recorded while playing this radio.
I used to bring a radio to the station and record the shows while I was on the air. Sometimes my dad recorded them for me at home when I wasn't able to do so.
@@THEBASEMENTBOMBERS lol they weren't live mixes on KTU. They were premade.
Remembers the MSX from GTA 3
Good shit.
Unfortunately hyper clipped audio procession. Ridiculous sounding for a dance station. I think EDM and Dance stations needs to preserve clean bass

@@THEBASEMENTBOMBERSNo worries the new KTU 103.5 use to sound messed up alive anyways.
Man, this is KTU sound anyways, i never like that radio station. Never!
Most listened dance station in the world? BULL-SHIT!
