She decided to try and floor her opponent by using the totally unrelated subject of organ donation. She therefore had no facts to back her up and her whole argument was based on emotions. There is only one winner in a fact versus emotion debate and she quickly started to hesitate, fumble and then started using accusations and insults. She then gave up and ran away but continued her insults making herself look even more ridiculous. Do schools no longer teach debating skills?

    • @tkyk4893
      @tkyk4893 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +37

@@travismyers3396And Michael's response was organs aren't just resources you can use in any particular way. They serve a particular purpose that is natural. A pregnant mother is not 'donating' her womb by continuing pregnancy. Her womb along with the rest of the body as a unit are doing exactly what they're naturally meant to do to develop the child she's carrying.
That's why the organ donation argument will never be analogous to pregnancy. If you donated your liver you would be doing an unnatural thing which doesn't harm someone else. On the other hand, abortion is an unnatural thing that harms another person.

If you created the child, there is no such thing as “consenting” to whether or not it “uses” the womb for the very singular and exact purpose for which the womb exists. When you chose to do the one thing that creates a child, that is where your consent ends and the consequences (good ones in this case as a baby is a wonderful thing) ensue.
The moment I choose to step off a cliff, it doesn’t matter whether I “consent” to gravity pulling me down, as it is a natural result of how the world works. I am obligated by nature’s laws to carry out to consequences of said action. My consent was useful only up to the point I used it to step off the cliff.
How about the fact that the vast majority of women who get abortions regret them? Their bodies know it’s wrong, that something went wrong, but we delude ourselves as a society into saying that somehow killing one’s offspring, one’s child, is somehow empowering or related to consent.

    • @hunter._._.

@@Mobius118Yes, a lot of women find abortion traumatic. No one's claiming that it's all kittens and rainbows, buddy. Thing is, people like you make it worse.
I can see how causing a problem for yourself (having the abortion) to avoid a bigger problem for multiple people (being a poor parent obviously greatly impacts the children, but also often affects wider society too) is considered by rational people to be a brave decision. It's not too great a leap to see how that can be empowering. Maybe you just don't have the bandwidth to understand that.
      _____________
Okay, so you've made it clear that, as far as you're concerned, women are not allowed bodily autonomy.
That makes you a Charming Upstanding Noble Type ...
Anyway, two questions: 1. Are women the only people who shouldn't have bodily autonomy?
And 2. Every time you get into a car do you consent to an accident? If not, why not?

she suffers from a FALLACY OF COMPOSITION - - - (and she forgot about DEMOCRATS SUPPORT this ) - - - The gender surgery program at Oregon Health & Science University, a public teaching hospital in downtown Portland, provides a productive tableau for analysis. The program is led by Blair Peters, a self-described “queer surgeon” who sports neon-pink hair, uses “he/they” pronouns, and specializes in vaginoplasty (the creation of an artificial vagina), phalloplasty (the creation of an artificial penis), and “non-binary” surgeries, which nullify the genitals altogether. Peters and his colleagues have pioneered the use of a vaginoplasty robot, which helps efficiently castrate male patients and turn their flesh into a “neo-vagina.” The technique for the robot-assisted vaginoplasty is gruesome. According to a handbook published by OHSU, surgeons first cut off the head of the penis and remove the testicles. Then they turn the penile-scrotal skin inside out and, together with abdomen cavity tissue, fashion it into a crude, artificial vagina. “The robotic arms are put through small incisions around your belly button and the side of your belly,” the handbook reads. “They are used to create the space for your vaginal canal between your bladder and your rectum.” The illustrated surgical literature is a catalog of horrors-peruse at your own risk.
This procedure is plagued with complications. OHSU warns of wound separation, tissue necrosis, graft failure, urine spraying, hematoma, blood clots, vaginal stenosis, rectal injury, fistula, and fecal accidents. Patients must stay in the hospital for a minimum of five days following the procedure, receiving treatment for surgical wounds and having fluid drained through plastic tubes. Once they are home, patients must continue on transgender hormone treatments and manually dilate their surgically created “neo-vagina” in perpetuity; otherwise, the tissue will heal, and the cavity will close.

Lady, nobody is entitled to my organs and if I choose to not donate them, then so be it. They're not "resources" you can mandate I provide to save anyone else's life. Meanwhile, I'm still wondering how this relates to abortion? If a woman chooses to abort her baby, what she's done is robbed her baby of its entire life. People who don't want babies, shouldn't make them in the first place, and definitely should do more to prevent unwanted pregnancy. Failing the rights of bodily autonomy BEFORE pregnancy does not a right to abortion make. Just because you don't want that baby doesn't mean it's not a baby, doesn't mean it's not alive, doesn't mean it has no right to exist and live. Your argument is a false equivalency and bodily autonomy as it applies to organ donation is non-sequitur with bodily autonomy as it applies to pregnancy. The baby inside you, is not you. Yes you're responsible for it, yes you're the vessel of growth for it, but it is not you.

also, there is a difference, because the primary purpose of the woman's reproductive organs is to support the life of a separate growing human. the primary purpose of a person's kidney is to support that person's life, not another person's life. that medical technology can allow us to use the organs of one person to assist another person, while an admirable option, is not how our bodies were designed.

I feel like Michael didn’t understand the point she was making on this one. She was trying to compare a person needing someone else’s body to survive (an organ donor situation) with a baby needing someone else’s body to survive (the baby needing the mother’s body). If we are allowed to cut off strangers from using our bodies for survival (organ transplants) then why can’t we stop a baby from using our bodies for survival (a baby feeding on the mothers body).
The correct rebuttal would have been to say that the woman who is pregnant volunteered to supply the baby with her body’s resources when she had sex. It wasn’t against her will unless she was SA’d.
