Amazing videos. Thanks for sharing. Was wondering if you could please make a video of what are the basic tools and materials/ cutter etc that we need for gum paste flower making.
Thank you for sharing. Please help me. When I made the flower and inserted the wire in it while taking most of the petals broke and for some petals the wire just slipped off How can I make these Orchids without breaking them.
Hi! Make sure that you are using some type of edible glue on the wires to make sure they stick when you insert them in and let them dry completely overnight, if you handle them before they dry completely the petals are more prone to breaking. If you are new to working with wired flowers work on 1 petal at a time because the gum paste will dry very quickly while left out and might become brittle by the time you start working on the next petal. Also, make sure that you aren’t rolling your petals too thin, wired petals are harder to work with if they are thinner. May I ask if you are using a groove board and what gauge wire you are using?
Hi! I would probably still use a bit of yellow in the center and add in a deeper purple color around the yellow like the color Lavender from global sugar art and for the bigger petals I would use a lighter color like Lilac from global sugar art too. It all depends on the shade of purple you want too though so you can mix in deeper or lighter shades of dusts in there to get the look you want 😊 hope this helped a little
