it helps to split strap "rings" so you could put it on or off easier without nails
Anton is correct. The rings that go onto the camera to hold the neck strap need to be split open to put them on. This is a small tool that splits the rings for you. Its technical term is the "clip attaching tool." fujifilm-dsc.com/en/manual/x100vi/introduction/supplied_accessories/#gsc.tab=0
