I could imagine that proteins that make the muscles are just better as are the energy proteins. Maybe he flies with ionic wind? This Superman is about as strong as the original one.
The original Superman just jumped really well, until they changed to flight, so I think this pays homage to the original bit, but I enjoyed this more alien Superman, and I feel it could be an interesting plot if he keeps the same personality of fighting for truth and justice
The Paramount cartoon was the first to do this, for two reasons. One, it was cheaper and easier to animate. Two, they thought him leaping around looked silly.
Before the video starts, I think a HUGE thing Superman might have as a more alien alien is wings. But not for flight, but rather for much greater surface area to absorb sunlight with.
Now I'm wanting to figure out more DC characters. What were the gods that made Diana? What series of chemical alteration made Barry the fastest man alive? Thanks for all the amazing creatures!
So update on this, I ended up having trouble falling asleep tonight and started coming up with an idea for martian manhunter. Let me know what you think. After much trile, scientist were finally able to get a sample of martian soil and bring it back to earth. At first there was nothing of note in the soil, just many highly toxic sands, yet after a few hours of research, one of them found the discovery of a lifetime, alien life. Worried this might be some kind of contaminant, he compared it with bactiria, archea, and eucaria, but it was completely distinct. These cells had a cell wall, yet this wall seemed extremely flexible unless stimulated with electricity where it would suddenly solidify into a structure that was stronger than the toughest of plants, each cell had extreme structuring that was designed to change the shape of the cell on a whim, large orginels that could alter it's color, and conductive fibers. But one of the oddest facts about these cells he found was that they contained acetone instead of water. He came to the conclusion this was because it was based on mares with an average surface temperature of negative thirty degrees celceus instead of earth's twenty three. He wrote these notes down before retiring for the night, yet when he came back in the morning there were hundreds of more cells. The increase in temperature made the chemical reactions in the martian cells far fastet leading to them developing at an incredible speed, and now they were exibiting a new phanominon, they were sending signals between each other. These cells were comunicating in a way humans had only begun to understand. In curiosity he began experamenting with these cells, finding out what they could eat, finding the range of their comunication, and finding their new metabolic rate, at each point being astonished. This scientist began to almost raise this alien like a pet, with it quickly growing out of the test tube. It's cells all capable of every task they needed for complex co-operation and able to work in tandem to construct an internal environment they could tolerate, it grew to be like a worm, then a rat, then a dog. At that point it figured out how to analyze human brain waves, and finally began to communicate. First contact with an alien life form had finally been achieved. With this the scientist saw this creature in a new light, as a child. This alien would alter it's form as it grew to appear like the being it was interacting with, growing to appear more humanlike as it's mental state grew similarly. In the end the scientist never released his amazing findings, as before he did he was attacked by some people who had heard romers of a demon in this lab and killed him. After that the alien went out on his own, trying to perserve the positive idealistic viewpoint he had grown from interaction with the only human he knew, finding most humans less co-operative. Yet even the alien would never truly understand the research the scientist had done to understand him, for there was a flaw in his assumptions. This creature was never truly a martian. He was a biological weapon designed by a powerful race that colonized mars, but died millions of years before humans ever learned how to lift a stick, this single highly addaptable strain of life managing to survive in this unforgiving land. Sorry that was all over the place. It's past midnight and I'm just typing stuff down because I'm not thinking strait. Let me know what you think of it, do you think I diviated too much from the source material? Do you have any ideas for biological features? I'd love to hear your ideas. I've been a fan of your channel for years now, and I'd love to be able to influence a concept.
Honestly, Superman being able to just jump high/far and soar rather than truly flying fits pretty well since Superman originally wasn’t able to fly at all in the comics, only gaining the ability to do so due to confusion and lack of communication between he various writers at DC. A lot of them didn’t know he could just jump super well and thought he could actually fully fly, to the point where DC just eventually decided "screw it, why not?" and made it so that he could officially fly. Kind of also reminds me of how Kryptonite was originally made for a radio play so that the VA for Superman could have an excuse to have a vacation. Lol.
He also has to have some crazy vocal organs, maybe something similar to a bird's syrinx. That opens up the possibility of him not only being able to mimic voices and sounds, but also make a unique voice to use for himself. But where would his voice come from, the mouth or the spiracles on his neck?
I remember from the Superman: Birthright comic that Lex was speculating that Superman's biology could be studied (while showing a computer generated hologram of his brain being dissected) indicating his ability to fly might be in his brain and singing about it in a creepy way (the leg bone is connected to the hip bone)
Now I like this idea, while the Tau as a faction is pretty cool the race just looks uninspired despite being unique to the Warhammer 40K setting *(unlike 90% of the races...)*
I've seen plenty of artists do similar things, such as making Kryptonians truly alien, including making his cape a part of his body! And his emblem too!
@@speculativewildlifeI also noticed there was no scientific name present, but I guess that would've been lost after the destruction of Krypton. All I got is, "Kryptonius superhominus". (Kryptonian superman, sorry, it's a little on the nose! 😅) But anyway, congratulations on two years of this channel!
Very good video, I liked it. First of all, happy second anniversary of the channel, keep moving forward. This idea of Superman makes me seriously wonder if the rest of the Justice League, omitting Batman and other strictly human characters like Cyborg, Green Arrow, are sapient creatures alien to the human aspect like Aquaman, WW, Martianmanhunter, Hawkgirl/man, etc. It would be very fun to see those meetings between different species that come together for a common good while you have a couple of humans without powers. Going back to proposals now that you made Superman, would you make a speculative reinterpretation of the "bad supermen" like Omniman from the Invincible series and Homelander from the series The Boys. It would be interesting to see them (more knowing that all your creations converge in the same universe, removing some exceptions) Omniman could be a convergent species and Homelander a notoriously inferior genetic copy
This is a great video. In the lore, at least what I have heard, Krypton's sun is a red star, and clark's power increases at a significantly faster rate when exposed to the light of a blue star.
I've never been a big fan of Superman, but I have always been intrigued by Kryptonian biology. I had never heard of the non-newtonian cytoplasm, so that lends an interesting wrinkle into their plausibility. Thank you for doing this (even though I would never have suggested it) and happy anniversary
Congratulations to two years on TH-cam and I must say couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate said two years as this is genuinely one of your best videos and looking forward to whatever exciting new developments that the next year holds for this channel.

First off happy anniversary! This is a tremendous milestone for you and I like that you switched up the normal format of an episode for such an occasion. Though he looks a bit like Milo Murphy with that cowlift I love this redesign with having noticed the manta ray like elements suggested over on Discord that a lot of us liked and I absolutely can’t wait to see another humanoid episode on the channel soon. Speaking of which I have crafted a concept for a Star Wars day episode recently: A long time ago in a galaxy far far away a ship set its course across the stars. It’s intent? Be the first intergalactic journey undertaken by any sapient species in the galaxy though sadly this would be a one-way trip due to the experimental nature of the craft being nothing the universe has ever seen before. Centuries passed before the ship reached its destination, a small spiral galaxy known as The Milky Way to the race (humanity) that discovered “The Wandering Angel” as most have nicknamed it. A small manned mission was sent to the Angel to examine it and discovered its only surviving resident. Due to extensive research into the ship’s archives and interactions with this alien we have translated their language into something more understandable for our kind and what we learned was absolutely incredible. Though we haven’t translated everything we know that the survivor calls herself “Solo” and is a member of an ancient race known as the Zhell from a far off galaxy. With Solo’s help we learned a lot about who and what they are. For starters they are incredibly similar to humans in terms of evolutionary history with both of us being bipedal pursuit predators descended from arboreal creatures, though the Zhell are noticeably more reptilian with a more fleshy covering instead of traditional fur though it serves the same purpose. What was most important about this encounter was humanity’s first interaction with The Force. Many were stunned by Solo’s apparent telekinetic abilities when she opened the ship’s “fridge” and pulled out a snack towards her without touching it. The Force (as Solo calls it) is a force of energy harnessed by cells called midichlorians that manipulate particles in a similar manner to the Bile Sac Fungus from our planet though on a much more complex scale. These cells were naive to the Zhell home planet of Coruscant and formed a symbiotic relationship with a genus of arboreal omnivores that would become the Zhell and some of their close relatives like the extinct Taung. As the Zhell expanded outward from the innards of their galaxy they ran into many sapient creatures and allowed the midichlorians to cross species through careful surgery and cross breeding to name but two methods. The Force’s abilities are often controlled by the emotional state of the host, becoming more dangerous with increased anger, hate and stress. The Force itself is a form of particle from the galaxy Phaarfarau-A (thank you to u/onefinerig on Reddit) that can be used via electromagnetic fields to move objects, propel oneself further, influence weak minds and sometimes fire electrical impulses from the fingertips or adjacent digits of the wielder. Many animals use it to help in finding food or defence but people can use it in a more sophisticated manner, though this requires extensive training and sufficient midichlorians in the body. Many religions have formed around The Force in the Phaarufarau-A galaxy who believe it to be universal and sapient in its own right such as the Jedi and Sith orders though they constantly conflicted over how this power should be used. Part of this is due to the frequent hallucinations midichlorians are able to cause which many spiritualists believe are the souls of those beyond the grave and at one with the universe. This is helped by the fact that creatures with high midichlorian counts decompose at a much faster rate than normal due to the bacteria turning on the host without a fresh source of nourishment. On Earth some religious groups are coming out based upon the teachings of the Jedi after some of the archives from the Wandering Angel were leaked to the public but Solo has worked with the centre to help stop the spread of this information, except to a few specific people. Some of us at the centre have struck a deal with filmmaker George Lucas to adapt some of the tales in the archives into feature length films, mainly concerning the Skywalker dynasty which Solo is a part of apparently. These films are currently in production through so I guess we’ll have to wait to witness these wars among the stars. Again, happy anniversary, I can’t wait for what the next year will bring for this channel and I will see you later!
Congratulations on the two year anniversary. This was a very fun and inventive entry for the occasion. I recommend cyborgs, revenants from mortal kombat, and Hail Mary from invincible.

So clam eyes have mirrors that use guanine crystals and some other things. maybe laser vision could use infrared light from the heat organ focused (possibly with fib optic hairs similar to polar bears or fiber optics similar to whatever some sea sponges have) into a chamber with energized gasses and mirrors to produce an infrared laser which could be used for communication, offensively, something to do with finding mates/mating rituals (stronger laser means you have more energy to burn and could be more attractive), and or for other things. And with having even more excess energy to burn and possibly better gasses for the laser chamber/an atmosphere that’s easier for the laser to travel through from Earth. They could have a fairly powerful beam, at least for a short time.
They could also have fiber optic nerves similar to some sea sponges that could be what developed into the fiber optics for the laser system. The focusing of the infrared light could develop from having efficient heat transfer with the infrared fiber optic nervous system? I’m not quite sure how that’d work though. I’d need to look more into fiber optics, lasers, thermal dynamics, and other things for this stuff. Maybe someone reading this knows something helpful. Corrections and more info are welcome.

Im surprised noone mentioned metropolitan man. Its a famfic about lex luthor dealing with superman in it superman explains why he looks human. Hes inhabiting a body his ship built for him to better blend in. His species actually looks like a cross between a spider and an eel.
In DC comics (I know, that is redundant, “Detective Comics” comics) it isn’t that evolution made a bunch of identical to human alien species. Instead humanity and those other species all ended up with the appearance of certain cosmic entities, some by direct intervention, some (Kryptonians, Daxamites, etc) by being offshoots of the servant/child race created by those entities in their image.
Suggestion: there could be a episode with a biomechanical life form, the Cybertronians (Transformers) or the Bionicles( I Think this one would be a interesting challange, since the bionicles are organic with natural robotic parts mixed together)

**Starman Intensifies** Suggestion: Chimera
Awesome suggestion, thanks!
Lol.
Absolute legend XD
He also has to have some crazy vocal organs, maybe something similar to a bird's syrinx. That opens up the possibility of him not only being able to mimic voices and sounds, but also make a unique voice to use for himself. But where would his voice come from, the mouth or the spiracles on his neck?
The mouth indeed, and its separation from the spiracles allows it to even speak without interrupting to breathe!
@@speculativewildlifelike how Darth Vader can talk and breathe at the same time because the suit breathes for him.
I remember from the Superman: Birthright comic that Lex was speculating that Superman's biology could be studied (while showing a computer generated hologram of his brain being dissected) indicating his ability to fly might be in his brain and singing about it in a creepy way (the leg bone is connected to the hip bone)
Lex Luthor is just SUCH a well adjusted fella, isn't he?
What if we made the Tau from Warhammer 40k look more "alien"

I've seen plenty of artists do similar things, such as making Kryptonians truly alien, including making his cape a part of his body! And his emblem too!
Yeah, its an awesome trend! With this one I wanted to keep the costume as a cultural thing, but I WAS tempted!

Thanks a lot! And I think it would be interesting to take on evil supermen as maybe a parasytic version of these guys!
This is a great video. In the lore, at least what I have heard, Krypton's sun is a red star, and clark's power increases at a significantly faster rate when exposed to the light of a blue star.
Didn't know about the blue sun, that's interesting!
Congrats on the 2years
Thanks a lot :)
I've never been a big fan of Superman, but I have always been intrigued by Kryptonian biology. I had never heard of the non-newtonian cytoplasm, so that lends an interesting wrinkle into their plausibility. Thank you for doing this (even though I would never have suggested it) and happy anniversary
Glad you liked it even so! And thank you!
Oh my god! E.T is cosplaying Superman! (Seriously though, that design reminds me of E.T.)

1. Happy Anniversary
2. Redesign The Doctor from Doctor Who
@@bjorncorvin4568 thanks and will do!
Speaking of which I have crafted a concept for a Star Wars day episode recently:
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away a ship set its course across the stars.
I love this suggestion so much! And thank you!! I do really want to begin experimenting more with formats!
Congratulations on the two year anniversary. This was a very fun and inventive entry for the occasion.

I’d love to see more spec bio takes on Marvel and DC aliens. More than any other type of speculative fiction, aliens in superhero media tend to veer more to the suspiciously human like side. So it would be neat to see more alien takes on their designs.
Indeed! Thanos and Darkseid, for example, would be fun to tackle!
😂 Imagine if Batman was just a freaky ass experiment that got out. A half man half bat hybrid of a nightmare that would make even Dracula piss in his trousers. OML. The biology of Batman would be horror beyond horrors.
And the energy for energizing the gas they use for the laser chamber could come from the system they use to keep their brain alive during hibernation
