bro if you need the son of a failed racer/self proclaimed outcast of the moto world to "bring people back to the sport" you've got the wrong crowd following. We should be wanting to see more people with the upbringing of a mcgrath or pastrana, rather somebody who was born a millionaire and has been groomed to be a pro racer since before they could walk
@@dr00andrew Deegan went a different route and capitalized on it financially. Deegan played the part as the heel and Pastrana was the clean cut boy. Both are millionaires now as McGrath. If money made kids great wouldn’t that play out in all sports. This is ridiculous. Deegan wasn’t handed anything, he’s earning his way. Everyone wants to kick his ass more than anyone and he’s 2nd in points. Deegan is doing more for the sport than anyone has in the past 10 yrs.
Apparently, when Bob Hannah was once asked about his competitors in an interview in the stadium, he responded "The only way any of these guys are beating me is if someone lets the air out of my tires". It definitely would be amazing to see more personality from the racers instead of "I wanna thank......".
I still think the entire Deegan Smith situation was just not knowing what the other guy was doing. They kept looking at each other trying to figure it out, but just caused more issues. Smith ended up trying to race him to that last corner and blew out the corner. He locked his rear tire up, slid out and caught a tire and high sided into Deegan.

There’s been riders that I DIDNT want to win and rooted against them but never a rider that I watched the race just to see how my rider did or hoping “my rider” would win. Deegan was having fun racing his teammate. Even stopped so he wouldn’t just flat out cut Jordons legs out from under him. Of course Jordon went on to take himself out.
This also comes from being a star without the sport. So much easier when you have made it before you race. From picking a team to being able to be more outspoken all esier when you have been famous since 5 years old
No lie, I was so busy this year I didn’t even watch supercross this season til Haiden made his debut. I’m not a fanboy but I was very interested in how he would do because I like his family.
Jordan was screwing with Hayden a lot at the practice facility and running him high at previous races and he had enough. You forgot to mention how Jordan tried to take him out from behind by slamming into him and Jordan took himself out in that heat race. Karma’s a bitch 😏
Please don't let Dirtbike racing become wrestling. Maybe "Old-Time Hockey." True, anti-heros are better than heels. But it's a fine line between art and smut. Let's keep the sport in the realm of art. Hopefully Haiden will outgrow his dad's image.
I think when Haiden almost stopped in the right hander.Smith should did everything in his power to go by Haiden even if it ment to ride over his head a bit .I believe Haiden would have let him go at that point.
If I’m being real (ex. MX racer) I do not watch racing of any kind for a “show” I don’t want to hear about or see fights or drama. I watch racing to see the racing! I watch the gear shifts, the body position, the line choices, the suspension setups etc. Racing isn’t a “show” it’s well racing. Machine against machine, man vs. man. The more off track drama between strong personalities just take away the focus on the core racing. What specifically is each guy doing on the motorcycle to go faster than another. Just my 2 cents
You don't need motocross riders to play a character. You just need to get them kind of People their personality will Take ride over the show beef up the crowd and everything
Deegan has the speed if he dosent hold his ground they would run him off the track the kid can ride and holds his own he’s young and riders dident think they would have to deal with him there wrong he is champion material
JS7 was able to act cocky and ride the way he rode and be the hero because he grew up poor and had to fight and earn everything he had. Everyone loves a rags to riches story. Deegan is fast af and will be a champion but he was born with a silver spoon and comes off spoiled and entitled exact opposite of most of the legends in this sport. Not Deegans fault but if he does not win a championship he’s a failed the dude has literally been set up with the best of the best since the day he was born. Best bikes, best tracks, not having to worry about paying to get to amateur races. And because of his last name you have people like gypsy stick up for him no matter what he does deegan was wrong in that heat race period. If it was anyone else it wouldn’t even be a conversation on who was in the wrong. Good on kevin for actually knowing what the hell is going on.
I am not a Deegan fan but if he gets a podium in the E/W shootout, he will go up a few couple of notches on my stick. I don 't bandwagon on new riders I like to see what they are made of first.
What do you mean he’s making podiums and riding up front now. Two years to get bigger, stronger and more endurance who is going to beat him? By then both Lawrence brothers will be on 450’s and little Deeg’s going to be on the second or first step every week. What he has done has been impressive.
In what world would anyone consider 1.5 million more eyes on your sport regardless of what his attitude or race style is !!! I only know Kevin Marantz bc of haiden deegan!!
I think Kevin is somewhat wrong, from his perspective. I believe there has been a lot of animosity between the two, mainly from Smith, probably during all the practices back at the farm. Smith is a long time veteran and sees this 17 year old as a threat, since Deegan has progressed so quickly and they have already said at times he is the fastest at the practices (even faster than Justin Cooper sometimes). I think that race showed Smith was trying to put the "Rookie" in his place, but Deegan is not like every other rookie, and won't take that from anyone.
If you go back to Dayton pressconfrence, after baing asked a question,Deegan said something about his team mates need to get it together or figure it out something like that. Jordan took it personally and I do think Deegan was thinking about Jordan when he said it , you can see as he saying it, he realized he might have just said something that is not go!ing to be taken to well by his teammates!
He mentioned them being inconsistent, factual statement and almost a military style of crap talk amongst buddy's is good for their team, keep the guys battling every day at star to keep getting faster and faster rather than settling in with racing a clock day to day
I think HAIDEN won the lead and thought that was it no one is really going to battle a heat race that hard . . Think when smith and haiden meet after whoops. Like malcolm Stewart says was like a bad text msgs gone wrong . 😂
Plain and simple deegan is hated because people thought he’d be another bust and now he’s the 2nd best rider on his coast. Now that those people are wrong they have to find something else to hate about him when I’m reality you should respect the kid who had the drive and had the want to be this good. If you think he was handed everything because of money then you are far from the truth. Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.
I stopped watching NASCAR because the personalities of the drivers are all the same. MX has a HUGE variety of personalities and there is one top 10 rider for just about anyone to easily get behind. I believe that if a rider takes someone out, unless there is an injury it’s game on pal.
You need the Metal Mulisha dirt bikers are the outcasts of society the noisy kid from down the road who's screaming by in a wheelie with his Dad right behind them on the three wheeler with a cigarette hanging out his mouth everytown got one

JLaw Villopoto or Jlaw Dungy 08. Hero anti hero and the bad guy won!!!
A show makes the sport there has to be excitment
I must admit I only watched the 450 class in suoercross. I ow find myself watching 250 east first thing
Cool intro music
Conflict brings more publicity so we need more drama
waaay overthinking this bro
Please don't let Dirtbike racing become wrestling. Maybe "Old-Time Hockey."
True, anti-heros are better than heels. But it's a fine line between art and smut. Let's keep the sport in the realm of art.
Hopefully Haiden will outgrow his dad's image.
I think when Haiden almost stopped in the right hander.Smith should did everything in his power to go by Haiden even if it ment to ride over his head a bit .I believe Haiden would have let him go at that point.
he has a KTM so thats why he can holeshot on it
If I’m being real (ex.
Fraggle Rock is back
He doesn't know what spotlight is
JS7 was able to act cocky and ride the way he rode and be the hero because he grew up poor and had to fight and earn everything he had.
I don 't bandwagon on new riders I like to see what they are made of first.
no one cares about your stick notches smh...
What do you mean he’s making podiums and riding up front now. Two years to get bigger, stronger and more endurance who is going to beat him? By then both Lawrence brothers will be on 450’s and little Deeg’s going to be on the second or first step every week. What he has done has been impressive.
Good for you
@lawrencefranck9417 some people just want him to do bad and can't accept the fact that he's actually fast.
@Lawrence Franck I bet you all got your covid shots and boosters, too. Deegan is not beating anyone great. Like I said, we will see this weekend.
In what world would anyone consider 1.5 million more eyes on your sport regardless of what his attitude or race style is !!! I only know Kevin Marantz bc of haiden deegan!!
Yeah but haiden is NOT talking shit I think the kid just loves racing and hates to lose that's it
We need another Bob Hannah!
Look who his dad is… not surprised 🏴☠️☠️🫡
Tyler Evens was last we had!
Jason Lawrence…
They were told that it’s ok race each other and try not to hurt each other out there but it’s ok
smith going down was his own fault. deegan shouldn’t have waited in the corner but smith shouldn’t have hit haidens swingarm like that.
DUDE!! you need to re-watch that Deegan jordan fight.. you are wrong..lol.. Jordan did not cut down into hayden.. he clearly when way high.
Moranz is the man, great kid, very smart. Motobookie
Moto bookie eh? Tell me more
He is the next GOAT and at 17 he is showing what hard work dose ,rookie season to like wow
Chael sonnen Was the Rick Flair of the UFC
I think Kevin is somewhat wrong, from his perspective. I believe there has been a lot of animosity between the two, mainly from Smith, probably during all the practices back at the farm. Smith is a long time veteran and sees this 17 year old as a threat, since Deegan has progressed so quickly and they have already said at times he is the fastest at the practices (even faster than Justin Cooper sometimes). I think that race showed Smith was trying to put the "Rookie" in his place, but Deegan is not like every other rookie, and won't take that from anyone.
He just let's his riding talk. Jordan Smith has always been a baby
Jordans Smiths fault for continuing to be terrible and still in the 250 class.
Did anyone think it was planed for press attention
😂
I stopped watching when Stewart was done. Deegan has got be back into it
Rubbing is racing. He is hungry and wants it. He is pushing to compeat he hasn't done anything wrong that I've seen
