Thanks for this video! If a 55 year old grandma can do this, anyone can! Keep trying if yours doesn't match up exactly to this... try turning the pieces around until they fit. The key for me was getting the flat sides up, bumpier sides down and putting the smaller side into the slot on computer first, then snapping it in. Whew.

This was the third video I came across on this topic, and the first to show real planning. You thought about what needs to be explained, and you found language that made sense. You recognised what needed to be shown, and ensured we could see it. The quality was not just in the camera work; it was throughout. I have a backspace key to replace, which I note from another correspondent is supposed to be tricky, with its U-shaped device. I'm less adventurous than she, and would benefit from a video on specifics here, also.

I spilled full glass of coca cola on my laptop keyboard and emediately switched it off, tilted it,and dried it out...
Only 2 days later to find out some of the keys aren't going back up...
I tried to get them back by using a fan as i saw on youtube but it only worked for cpuple minutes...laptop itself works completely fine, but only the keys are messing with me
And the worst thing is I got the laptop as a christmas gift from my sister's husband so no one knows about it except for me...

It worked for me though even if my key model was different but the basic designs were same so I just modified some steps

This was VERY impressive. I don't know how your hands are so steady, though! Only on that level did I see how unsteady my fingers were. But thank you!!

Our lovely parrot decided one day that I did not need keys on my laptop. He litterally removed ALL of them. It was a huge pain in the behind to sort the buttons out and to determine where all the keys belonged. It took me one full hour and a lot of cursing.
The small keys were easy, but the bigger ones which had that metal U shape.. oh boy..
And the spacebar, is still slightly handicapped..
    Handy video, btw!!

Vika Dolgova Oh, I didn't see I could reply to you here - sorry. Did you secure the big metal U before doing the other things? Did you still disassemble the pivoting parts from the keytop? Tks

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Our cat hooked one key on my wife's laptop and it has been off for several months now. I stumbled on this video by accident. Now I was able to repair her PC. I'm so glad you made this video.

Thanks for the video. Yours was much more detailed and helpful than the one I viewed on the replacement key site where I got the parts from.

Thanks for the excellent video. You show clearly on a white background which way round the pieces must be. In other people's videos this is totally unclear and so their videos are as good as useless.

    THANK YOU!!! GREAT DETAILED EXPLANATION!
One of my inner part rocker pins was broken off but it still went back together good and works great.
I had a piece of Raisin Bran stuck under the "i" key that was blocking the proper movement.
No more Raisin Bran near the keyboard :O
