I love this! And I did it yesterday, planting some leafy greens in amongst other things. I’m just starting to plant with seeds so your advice was perfect timing, thank you 🙏🏽💚🙋🏽♀️
Gaz and Julie from Down2Earth are great, I’ve got a bunch of their seeds already in and growing well. It’s been a hot week, so glad to see some lower temps on the cards!
I start our Capsicum seeds inside in old sliced cheese containers, which make the perfect hot house. I place some folded tissue in the bottom add water and then place the seeds inside, close the lid and place on shelf and get almost 100% success every time :). We have a cheap metal shelf from bunnings in front of our sliding glass doors, which gets filtered sunlight and warmth each day. Just perfect :). You can also use window ledge, if that's all you have :). You Perthies are soooo darn lucky with all the freebie access you guys have. Our coffee grounds are $5 a bucket and that's when you can get them which is not very often.
Really! Surely some cafes would be discarding?? I would be very surprised if they pop up buuut in saying that every single cayenne chilli I have buried has germinated 100s of seeds, haha. Plus, we have had a week of 35 degrees, so they should get the memo it's time to go! 🚀
I picked up some seeds from Down2Earth at the Wandering fair the other weekend, such wonderful people! I had no idea they existed, and ive been buying veg seeds for almost 10 years, didnt come up in a single google search. I love a WA based seed company!
I'm also in Perth and am going to adopt your recommendation on trying armenian cucumbers this year. Anything that can survive the scorching that is ahead of us! And thanks for the info about down2earth, I had never heard of them. Useful for local tomato seeds given WA can't buy them from interstate at the moment.
Hi Holly, what type of grass do you have? Our couch grass keeps going into our garden bed! Any tips on that? Thank you in advance, from a fellow Perthian :)
@@SustainableHollyawesome! I got a similar and I love your vlogs I’m from South Coast Sydney and I get so much ideas from your blogs! I have similar style with what you do in your garden, I called myself “ lazy gardener” cos I just throw everything in the garden and hope for the best😂😂
