Downloaded the rulebook from the Warcrow website yesterday. Love that CB give the rules away for free, other manufacturers should pay attention! The rules look awesome. I’m a little worried about the number of different tokens, effects and special rules. I hope they’re handled as well as they are with infinity and don’t make the game too clunky. Really, really hyped for this game, can’t wait to get my hands on those northern tribes.
@@thedicegodswg Absolutely, I think they are the best looking orc minis out there, and I love the background of the varank and their totems. They look like real fun to paint.
Do the defensive dice have Offensive Successes on them? And offensive dice Defensive Successes? E.g.: can a defender wound the attacker and could the attacker need to roll defences to stop that counter damage?
Not on the dice, per say, but certain units have triggers which let them convert symbols on their rolls to attacks or defences. There's an example in the video with Bucklermen.
How random those random events will be matters I think. A blizzard starting is one thing, but if it last for a single turn that's absurd. If a turn is representing enough time for a group of soldiers to move and skirmish a bit then we're talking 60 seconds maybe? A blizzard does not last 60 seconds and then suddenly stop. I mind less if that random event then has longer term consequences like the weather remaining a blizzard until another random event changes it 3 rounds later.
This gave me a great idea about how warcrow will be like to play. Thanks for the clear overview. Excited to get started now!
Glad you're on the hype train! Any faction catch your eye?
@@thedicegodswg gonna start with the orcs!
@milou-5734 Northern Tribes are very nice... Ice Bear especially!

Green and blue skins for you then?

So far so good
Agreed.
Your movement is your two values and twice the width of your base
I see what you're saying, the point we were trying to make was that you can't just measure your strides x 1.5mm to determine total movement.

And in addition- some units have "defensive" dice on their attacks or "offensive" dice on their defense.
@@LARPBeard yup, that too.
I think the war surgeon is a bird.. maybe a ladybird
This traveller perfectly understood the assignement
I think we can call that official now...

I hear what you're saying, but this is more game, than sim. So, from that end, it works for me. But your mileage may vary, of course.
@@thedicegodswg but if it's a game selling itself on narrative then story matters more and weird incongruous story events hurt that.
IS it not good for tournament / competitive play?
We don't know yet. I'd imagine there will be a competitive option, but yet to be certain.
I hate the term fluff for the lore sooo much.
I would use lore then, not fluff, if I was you then. Probably best if you hate it.
