    Everyone should definitely practice this!!! Today I started my journey to reversing both pups, pretty crazyyyy but it feels satisfying!!!!

    Every company I have worked for we could get in trouble if we were seen doing it because guys use to damage the trailer because they wouldn’t be lined up properly. I use to have to practice at customer locations at the end of my pickups and deliveries before returning to the terminal. Takes some practice but I got it figured. Saves your back big time!

      @TheTulsaTrucker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Estes allows us to do this. They are a very laid back company as long as we are safe about it. Like you said saves the back only lifting the dolly once instead of 3 times..

      Trucking Through Life My friend is a line driver for Old Dominion, and they allow it too. When he first started and was sometimes only needed for shorter runs he use to stick around after his shift for a half hour practicing. Unlike me, where I had to practice at customer locations during my breaks.

    Wooo I'm currently practicing to reverse double trailers!!!! 😜, Lol, but if you want to reverse the lead pup and dolly, the key is to move the trailer the opposite way you want to move the dolly!! Example: if you want to move the dolley to the blind side, you move the trailer to the strong side, one main thing is to quickly get back to being straight, never let the centers (imaginary vertical line done the middle) of the trailer and dolly pass or the dolly is going the opposite way (unless you want it to start moving the opposite way), you should be turning back the trailer before the half way points of both trailer and dolly AT MOST start to make a straight line!!!!! It's easier to move both if you're at an angle, because you can see how they both react!!!! Set up both pup and dolly as if you were going to stage it to a bay door like a normal 53' or single pup! Hope this helps anyone, but PRACTICE!!!!

    They're all good companies to work for, the difference is the terminal you work out of and how the people treat you! I drove those red trucks and the company itself is awesome but the terminal I drove out of had a lot of aholes running things! A dispatcher was the real problem talking to drivers with a lot of disrespect and just rude on many occasions!

      I have a Sony action camera that doesn’t look like a camera at all. Not a single person has even mentioned or even given it a second look. Now if it was a GoPro I am sure the reaction ma might be different because it’s the most marketed action camera in the world.

    I've currently been waiting on a company to start me, but they can't seem to give me an actual date. Is it true that Estes will train people to get their CDL?
    If yes, can I go straight into p&d?

    • @TheTulsaTrucker
      @TheTulsaTrucker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, Estes has a dock to driver program. You start off working on the dock for 3-6 months and then they will send you to their own CDL school in TN. Then you will return test in your home state and once you have your CDL spend time with a training P&D driver and then into your own truck.

    Oh believe me I work for estes through my company and you're absolutely correct, they leave u alone and as long as you're running your load and get it to the destination safely they don't bother you. And as for backing up a Dolly to a trailer believe me it looks hard but when I have downtime I practice and find the best way to hook doubles with a Dolly attached. But I love working with estes.

  • @DoubleKlutch99
    @DoubleKlutch99 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's hard to enough to back a dolly up while attached to the pintle on the tractor, let alone to your lead, I can only imagine if someone has done this with doubles connecting it to a triple...

    Nice job by the driver in the beginning of the video. And XPO sounds like my company, Lol. Money is a lil better but big brother watches close as well as safety personnel sometimes follows you out on ur route n randomly checks trailer door locks and tractor dorr locks. I got caught about 8 years back with my trailer door unlocked and even though it was empty I still got written up. Smh.

    • @TheTulsaTrucker
      @TheTulsaTrucker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Extra Board (Line Haul) division is different from bid run Line Haul. Those drivers are drivers who are under time tables because they have to get freight back to their terminals for P&D to deliver. Extra Board are just moving trailers from terminal to terminal without those time restraints so very little stress.
