Hey! Thanks for sharing this!! We just got back from Banff and now I’ve applied for an IEC. Do you know if I need a job lined up before I arrive? And how easy was it for you to find a job? New to the channel and subscribed! :)

You don’t need a job but I would suggest trying to find one :)
And it’s very easy to get a job, very hard to get a house! Depends on what you’re after in Canada whether it’s a seasonal job or looking for a more permanent home, both have their different issues with finding a home

@@caitlinjanet_ thanks for that advice. I’m a bit worried about finding a home, any advice?

G’day, mate. Heading to Vancouver in December. How did you ensure you were offered a 2 year work permit?

Hey! That’s so exciting! Your POE should mention it on there somewhere I think. But when you get your visa at immigration just check that the expiry date is 2 years from that day. Some countries only get one year so they get it wrong sometimes, but it’s easy for them to fix if you tell them straight away.

Nothing was mentioned as to the approved length of time, other than the validity of the POE letter time frame. I assume they give you a visa based upon your passport validity and health insurance policy duration which I’ve covered for a 2 year period.

Hey, I'm moving over soon as well, is there a Canadian bank that you recommend to open an account with? no monthly fees ect?

Hey! That's so exciting for you! I would recommend CIBC as they have a newcomers account which is zero fees for the first two years. I would also recommend setting up a credit card at that point aswell.

Hi! That’s so exciting! The most important things would be to set up your phone, bank, SIN, etc. You can pre book appointments with the bank as well. It’s all very straight forward. The most important thing is getting your work permit at the airport when you arrive. All the best!

@@caitlinjanet_ thanks caitlin, so how many hours did it took you to go through the immigration officer's and have the open work permit?

Hey! I’m flying out soon! Thanks for the heads up. Did they ask to see any bank statements or was it just questions and the form and passport?

@@reevenhd9785 hey! That’s awesome. No they didn’t for me but definitely make sure you bring a bank statement that shows proof of funds and it needs to be within the last 7 days.
