Ya know, people may still wonder why we're all so attached to this Hedgehog even if the quality of some of the games is questionable, but I still know and I'll never forget why I love this franchise so much, this is one of those reasons, this is pure gold and it draws me in like nothing else in gaming, and it always will, period. This franchise and all its characters and stories and worlds will always be very near and dear to me for as long as I live.
@logmega92 I started out with the little SEGA Genesis plug and play, the one with the blue transparent controller then the one with the solid red controller, I think I played Sonic 1 and 2 in order at the time. I remember wondering why Sonic was rated T for Teen, didn't realize it was because of the other more violent games on the compilation lmao. I used to play those things all the time, even when the aux cables started to sound crunchy as fuck. I still have them somewhere, no idea if they still work as of yet, I imagine just some cleaning and some cable repair and they'll work fine. I remember I played Sonic Unleashed on the PS2 back in the day from Family Video, was fun from what I remember. Haven't beaten it yet, but plan to someday. I also found a copy of Sonic Heroes from a thrift store, haven't gotten past one stage with the rising lava yet. Been a few years since I last played it. I also played Sonic 3/And Knuckles/3 and Knuckles on a compilation my older sister had at the time, my first introduction to Mushroom Hill Zone.
@@Blagno4 I mean the fact that the franchise has stayed alive for 30+ years says otherwise. Now if SEGA would actually treat it with respect that'd be great.

@@firechargeogname Yup! It’s titled His World (Instrumental). Only difference between the smash version and the original is that they cut out the intro with the gentle acoustic guitars.
As much as Sonic 06 was bad, it still had good elements. The OST was one of, if not, the best in the franchise, Mephiles is the best non-comedic villain, and every story besides sonic was great, Shadow showing that he defines his own character and that he has two friends who will always be there with him, and my personal favorite character, Silver, his whole arc of going from a person hellbent on killing Sonic to someone who will do whatever it takes to save the world, even if he can never see his closest and only friend ever again.

His World is one of those songs that is just SO cinematic, it can be used in pretty much everything and that's what I love about this song. That's what I think is so good about this song. That's what I think makes this one of the best Sonic songs in the entire franchise. His World is a song that no matter WHAT situation it's in, it can make a scene incredibly impactful when done correctly, and this video shows that. We don't exactly get to see the main theme be used in an impactful way, or durring a cutscene the same way we do with His World. Whether it's orchestrated, solo accustic guitar, or full band, it's one of those songs that you most definitely will not forget. It's just that powerful of a song.
The actual level design in this game is pretty fire, as Project 06 demonstrates. If only SEGA didn’t make Sonic Team work under insane time crunch and lack of staff when making this game.

What I find really interesting is these 'central' themes across Sonic games. His World here, and Unleashed had Endless Possibility. It unifies the soundtrack but feels diverse enough to fit almost anything (e.g. The Time-Space Rift).
Every time I try to sing a song from this franchise, it's so hard to pick from the many great choices sega has provided us with.
