Thanks for creating this video with the time lapse. It is an effective way to show how you made the page. You are judicious in choosing what to explain - not too much nor too little. Thanks for the inspiration.
I watched a video where someone put the wrinkled page between two pieces of card stock and pressed it for just a few seconds with a hot iron and it worked beautifully.
That works too. Most of the time I'll just wait a couple of days to see if the pressure of the closed bible was enough to straighten my page. I'm always afraid that the glue or liquitex will react to the heat of the iron (I've ironed my page a couple of times with a low heat setting and that worked by the way, I'm just still a bit hesitant of it ;))
Nice explanation, thank you for sharing! As an added thought, after applying a wet medium like you did in this vid, or something like water colour, you can easily iron the page smooth once dry. Just put a sheet of printing paper beneath and on top of your page, turn up the heat on your iron and in 20-30 seconds you're done.
Thanks for the add :). After the bible had been closed for a couple of days the page was pretty smooth, but the ironing is a good idea too. Especially with watercolors, these tend to dry with more wrinkles than the acrylics I used here.
My pleasure!
By the way, do you always use a base layer of paint on the page before applying colour? I've tried applying watercolour directly and the pages wrinkled up a lot. Yet, I see other videos where people use watercolours seemingly without problem. I've had more success with acrylics than watercolour.
I've had more success with acrylics too. The paints I use in this video is acrylic too, but I use water to get the right shades of the colors. I use multi medium or clear gesso as a base for most of my pages because I like to have a little bit more freedom in the materials I use (the ink I use for the stamps will bleed through the pages when I don't use a base coat). When you use watercolors you have to be very careful with the amount of water you use. The bible pages are very thin and can't handle a lot of water... I still love to work with colored pencils in my bible just because they are the easiest to use on the thin pages ;)
Hi, it's a Dutch bible that's not for sale anymore... You can find a lot of journaling bibles on the website of Rebekah R Jones rebekahrjones.com/journaling-bible-guide/
The best place to get Bibles is Christianbook.com. I buy all my bibles there. They use to do engraving too like in my photo. Not sure if they still do.
I think it will work too Linda. I would try it on an empty page in my bible just to be sure. Most clear gesso work the same way the matte medium does only they are a bit less 'glue'-like so it's harder to adhere images etc. with a gesso. But on the other hand; most of them dry with a lot less texture than a medium does and they are better for your pens.
Thanks inspiring us ! We just posted our very first bible journaling ! It was such a rewarding experience for us! Big thumbs up! Hope you can visit us when you get a chance.

Super, nogmaals dank!
Beautiful. It came out so pretty.

It's a Dutch journaling bible called 'bijschrijfbijbel' but it isn't available anymore :(
@@lucivb wow it would be cool if you did a video just on the bible itself, it looks interesting, even though it's out of print :)
@@ArtWars314 It's a great bible with a couple of different margins, I love to work in it :D You'll probably see it in more of my videos
