Skillet is just amazing... I've been listening to them ever since I found them on a Christian rock radio station, years ago.
I gotta say this is one of THE best songs we've ever heard from Skillet. It's one of the most beautiful and relatable expressions of the overthinking that comes from anxiety and depression and how it messes you up to the point where you don't even trust your own thoughts anymore. That's one of the biggest reasons why I love John Cooper's songwriting so much. He has the most unique and relatable way of expressing these kinds of things that everybody thinks and feels at some point, but nobody ever wants to talk about, and usually never even knows how to explain anyway. I don't know if there's any actually genuine christian folks who struggle with the same stuff I do, and I'm praying for anyone who does, but I wanted to thank you guys (Skillet) for all the work you've done over the years. I've seen ya'll perform live at least twice before at Soul Fest, and every time I hear your music it feels like it ignites something in me, and I believe my fiancé feels the same way. Skillet's music has helped us through pain, rage, trauma, and even pushed us to fight for our lives and love amidst the frustrating and agonizing times we've faced in our lives. This song especially isn't just a "banger" to us; for me, it hits on a personal level. I have major depressive disorder with psychotic features as well as chronic migraines, and we're both autistic with anxiety, so it literally "resonates" with us on a personal level. It's difficult for folks like us to focus on love and life when our heads are enraptured by the pain and delusions. It's hard to let God be at the center of our lives when the paranoia and anxiety get the better of us, and it's important to humanize those of us who are often called "monsters" and insane, and instead of locking us away or threatening us... working towards standing with us to fight against the voices and the thoughts, even when they sound so enticing.
Hello, I'm from Brazil, and I'm a Christian. There are several Christians who go through and are going through things similar or the same as yours, or as the song itself speaks. I know of several Christians who are carrying heavy pains and responsibilities to be and talk with Christ. And Christians here in Brazil are at great threat and risk, especially when a Dictatorship was installed here (they are just trying to formalize the regime, but essentially we are already in one). At the end of the day, I am Christ's, as much as Satan and all hell wants me not to. All humans have their struggles, and Christians are no different, the difference is that we have Christ to help us overcome the evil that wants to end us. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we may be able to comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For as the sufferings of Christ overflow to us, so through Christ our consolation overflows". 2 Corinthians 1:3-5. without that Light I am nothing. "So do not be afraid, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will hold you with my victorious right hand". Isaiah 41:10 he tells me not to be afraid, but I always tell him that it is difficult, but that I must do it and that only he can give me strength. "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ. Jesus, our Lord". Romans 8:38-39 And in the end, as much as I suffer and cry, it's not about, but about Jesus and his love. Now I consider myself a weak, a fallen, a miserable man, an idiot, but thanks to him, I'm moving towards myself to be a strong, victorious, powerful and a better man. Don't be discouraged, if Christ is with you, then you, like me, will end the day saying: "I've fought the good fight, I've finished the race, I've kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7.
Every Christian suffers from constant struggle with temptation, we're all sinners and all have fallen short of the glory. But through and by the grace of our Lord Jesus we are saved. ❤️ ✝️

Honestly, it seems that John (or other band members) really do understand the struggle of the angel & devil fighting inside your mind. Many of their songs are about it. This one, Monster, Whispers in The Dark, Save Me, Victorious, Comatose. I think it's awesome that they're so honest about the struggle. It helps to feel less alone. I'm so sorry you know that feeling, too. God bless❤.
Skillet was one of the bands that my baby bro and I bonded over and helped get us through some really rough times. I just re-found them and they are an absolute blessing from God again. Knowing for a fact that I'm not alone and having Christian support is everything.
Jesus Loves you Matthew 11:28 come to me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. As well as Romans 6:23 for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God (Jesus who died on the cross for our sins) is eternal life. As long as you put your faith and trust in Him.😊!!!
I suffer from anxiety and depression and dissociative identity disorder and this song fits me perfectly i fight demons every day they are in my head thank you so much everyone My friends my family especially my father and I send a message of courage to all those who are in the same boat as me
I suffered from these anxieties, but thanks to you Skillet and the power of God, I feel stronger than ever thanks to you guys. Thank you so much! Loved your music ever since I was a kid. ❤
I absolutely love Skillet, I grew up on them because my mom was always a fan and still love everything they put out. However sometimes I miss the old stuff with the female vocals in the background. I feel like it added so much!
Even a as a Christian, you face your own "demons" and sometimes you feel like a "psycho in your head"! I love how you put into words what so many are feeling!! It's time to take a stand for our mental health in the name of Jesus! Thank you for all you do! Keep rocking!! (We are more than conquerors!)

It's the artistry for me. How everything just hits all the right nerves. I love Skillet so much!!! White Horse is my favorite song followed by so many others from multiple albums and this song is such a banger too. It's the kind of music that you can jam with or think to. It's music you can live to and I appreciate all they bring to the world. I thank God for Skillet!!!
There’s a psycho in my head, in my dreams, in my suppressed scream, so yea another song that hits home hard Skillet. Keep doing what you do you’ve been ordained to do it so well.
I am an atheist (25y) and I have been listening to this band since I was 17-18 years old. I think they are really good at catching the attention of those who do not share their beliefs, because every single human being on Earth can relate to the themes they talk about in their songs. If you are a Christian, you will call them "sins", but if you are an agnostic or an atheist you will still label these sins as "flaws" and as diverse "mistakes" you can learn from. We are all imperfect beings, and we are all made of light and shadow. It does not matter if you believe in the Christian God, in the gods of any other tradition or if you do not believe in anything your eyes cannot see; if there is something that unites us, is that imperfect and complex nature of the human being. Acknowledging our mistakes and growing from the pain we may suffer throught this road called life is what every one of us must do. Life is meant to be lived.
I loved this song from the moment it came out, and I am so happy to see an official video. I've been listening to you guys for more then 7 years, I love y'all so much
Dude I love the solo. The solo is so powerful. Right at 2:09, your gutted in the chest by a wave of powerful instruments, and for the entire ride up to the glorious layout at 2:25, it keeps the heaviness.
This is one of the best songs that I have listened due to its strong message: the hard effects of mental illness. In the moment that I listened the first notes, I feel identified with this song. Thank you for this masterpiece, Skillet
Your music helped me during middle school and high school and college. Thank you for making music that people feel a connection to no matter who they are.
Skillet is my favorite Hard rock/Metal band! I've yet listen to a single one of their songs and hate it. SO ROCK ON SKILLET BECAUSE Y'ALL ARE ONE OF THE BEST BANDS IN THIS GENRE!!!!°
you are making best songs I ever heard. I'm in my "depression era" and when I want to get rid of all bad thoughts or people I just have to wear earphones and listen to your songs
It's weird that i feel depressed, but sometimes the voice of the enemy comes to bother my peace; i hate when it happens, i came to hear your songs when i feel lost, it helps me reach out for Christ on those moments. I also heard them when I'm feeling good, to glorify God the most i can ❤.
This song feels like everyone can relate because with our own stupid intrusive and bad thoughts in our head we keep fighting and never give up this is so relatable tbh
Do you ever feel like you're not the only person living in your body? I feel like there's another person with their hand on the wheel. It's more powerful than anything I've ever felt. I just want to give it full control
Yes!! HEAVY SKILLET IS BACK! God I'm so glad they went back to that heavier sound when they released the "Unleashed" album and ever since they've felt so much like Comatose/Rise Skillet more than where they were going which was more soft rock than it was a metal/hard rock mix.
It's not just for Christians. Everyone is allowed to enjoy it, although I can sometimes see connections with Christianity when listening to their music.
Oh John Cooper, how we love your voice You make our hearts skip a beat, we have no choice With every note, you take us to new heights Your passion and talent shining bright You're a true rock star, a force to be reckoned with Your energy on stage is simply mythic We can't help but be in awe of your skills You bring joy to our lives, cure our ills So here's to you, John, keep doing what you do We'll always be there, cheering for you Your fans will never falter, we're by your side Forever and always, withyou we'll ride.😁❤
I love that it’s the same style as Monster in a away. The fact that you guys still make bangers is crazy. Love the music and love the shows you guys put on 🫡❤️
When you listen to this song, you will fight the demons in your heart! That's what it feels like! Moreover, the objects in the video are really cool, and the part where his face burns is so amazing!
I’m glad I found your guys music it one of the only things in life that doesn’t make me give in to my depression and for my question what made you start start skillet?
Even though I'm Christian and I like other bands/artists like Red and NF, I've never really been a fan of Skillet. This song, however, really hit the spot in just about every way possible. Relatabe lyrics, insanely good guitar riffs and vocals, and the perfect mix of other instrumentals as well. Really shows what this band can be for me when I need them to.
@@LACEY_FREAK If you're asking me what my favorite song is, it's really hard to choose. My top five are Cautarize, Feed The Machine, Take Me Over, Gravity Lies, and Lie To Me(Denial).

Definitely should have been the lyrics, as the original addresses a problem and leaves no solution. As a "Christian" band, you would never know it from many of their songs and the way they dress in goth on stage. Hope they see this, repent, and start truly putting JESUS first, not being ashamed to say and put HIS name in songs. 1 Peter 1:16 “Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” 1 Thessalonians 5:22 "Abstain from all appearance of evil." James 4:4 "Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God." Joshua 24:15 "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." 1 John 2:15-17 "15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever." Romans 12:1-2 "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."

Thank you for the lyrics
Mucho texto
We need more bands like this, I love KLove but I am a rock person
Isaiah 41:10
he tells me not to be afraid, but I always tell him that it is difficult, but that I must do it and that only he can give me strength.
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ. Jesus, our Lord". Romans 8:38-39
And in the end, as much as I suffer and cry, it's not about, but about Jesus and his love.
@@m4str8brun50 My heart goes out to everyone, as do my prayers. 💕 You guys are strong and inspiring with how much you've overcome.
Every Christian suffers from constant struggle with temptation, we're all sinners and all have fallen short of the glory. But through and by the grace of our Lord Jesus we are saved. ❤️ ✝️

Couldnt agree with you more there.

Gotta love how Skillet bounces borderlines between Metal and Christian Rock
An atheist that respects Christian music for what it is, there are few people that see these things, you have my upmost respect.
This is Christian music

This hit me so unbelievably hard. Thank you for making this. Really.

Yes!! HEAVY SKILLET IS BACK! God I'm so glad they went back to that heavier sound when they released the "Unleashed" album and ever since they've felt so much like Comatose/Rise Skillet more than where they were going which was more soft rock than it was a metal/hard rock mix.
