I always loved the blocks spinning, so much nostalgia seeing them. I had never seen Wonderland so crowded in my life. I wasn't there on the last day even though I really wanted to, but living 4 1/2 hours away made it tough. I did go one final time when my parents and I came here on vacation at the end of September and it was insanely crowded then too. Took close to 45 minutes to ride the carousel and an hour to ride Giant Wheel and it was a walk on for Canyon Falls. That's the first I've seen in a long time that the man and dog weren't singing. The las time that happened my dad and I walked up there to ride Frontier Express in 2019, the park was dead, we were the only ones up there. I was impressed at how well taken care of those animatronics were then and now. I have since learned about one employee especially took care of them, but there were others. All thanks to them that Man & Dog has been there to entertain people for so long. Back in the 90's when I was kid I was terrified by animatronics. With me now loving music, I find the Man & Dog really neat. I learned about them more after the park closed due to curiousity of how many songs and what songs do they do? I got my answer. Anyway, back to 2019 while admiring how good they still looked and they were how I remembered them dad scoffs at the fact you had to pay a dollar to play it. So, we didn't. :'( When I was there back in September of this year they were playing non stop, so many people were there watching, singing along and clapping. Country Roads (Take Me Home) is a favorite. That's the one I've seen in videos people sing along to it like it's Don't Stop Believin'...lol. If you live close to West Virginia or in West Virginia it's like the national anthem and Don't Stop Believin' is just a theme song. Like the sign says "Hold on to your hats!" Dad once told me at Hersheypark to turn my hat backwards when we rode Coal Cracker log flume because then it wouldn't fly off. My hat stayed on, his flew off. It was his favorite Ocean City, New Jersey hat too. Also, my first and last ride on Canyon Falls was September 29, 2024. It was a bit of a chilly day so when the log crested the hill I was like what am I gettin' myself into?! I didn't want to get really wet with cold water, thankfully it was a few droplets. Great vlog, sorry for this really long comment. Memories came flooding in while watching. Been going to Wonderland since I was a baby. Rode the carousel at 3 months old, Wet Boats my first ride without an adult riding with me. Giant Wheel was the first thing I rode while trying to face my fears of heights and roller coasters in 2010. Also, played the ring game a couple times on the carousel. Thanks for the memories. Also, the plan if it works out there will be a resort hotel taking the place of the park it is planned to have the Giant Wheel and the Carousel incorporated on the property. A boat from Wet Boats will be there for photo ops.

Wonderland Pier sure was a special place in New Jersey. Granted we still have Playland, the charm that Gillian's had will never top that, especially when they have The Man & Dog.

That’s where most of my childhood began for me going on rides when I was little. It will always hold a special place in my heart.

@@MikeyCapProductions Same. I have photos from like 2009 of young me at the park sitting in front of the long gone Sling Shot tower they had years ago.

That’s nice. I also have a picture of my older brother on the hot air balloon ride when he was little probably before I was actually born.

Also, the historic value of some of the rides at Wonderland. Carousel 1926 has the ring game too, fire trucks are probably from the 20's too, I saw video of them at the Gillian's Fun Deck which opened in 1929. Playland has more modern rides. Playland also doesn't have the monkey band either or the castle facade.

@@sportsygirl8 Andrew Boylan (Actors317) has the Monkey Band now plus The Man & Dog. Those fire trucks are now at Storybook Land.

Great video man !! I was there this past Sunday for the first time since August of 1999 and sadly it was my last time. A lot has changed in that pier since the 90’s, it seemed like they used to have a lot more stuff back when I was growing up. I was born in 1991 and spent every summer in the 90’s in Ocean City and then 2000 and on Wildwood took over. It was nice to ride on Thomas the train one more time and enjoy the animatronics one more time as it still looked exactly the same as I last saw it back in 99, they took really great care of that pier over the years and it’s sad it’s closed now, but I’m happy I got to have one more good time there.

It absolutely was a great place for me go ever since I was born. I had to rode my first ever kiddie ride on that pier but I don’t really remember a whole lot. I will never forget having my birthday party in 2005 and it sure was still a hit back then. The unfortunate part was it has been going down hill for the past couple of years with no improvements but I am very happy that I got to go one last time this past weekend. It will always hold a special place in my heart.

Did you use all the tickets on your card and do you like playland amusement park on the ocean city nj boardwalk?

I did use all of the tickets on my card and I kept it and I want to have it as a memory. I like Castaway cove because they have really good rides there.

They do have good rides there for sure and it’s for all ages as it has some more rides for adults while wonderland was actually more for little kids but they did have at least a couple of rides for adults to enjoy and the tickets were more expensive then Playland as Playland gave you more tickets for your money’s worth and most of the rides there are cheaper.
