Hello nice informative video I will be on the joy in march.. I was wondering if they had a formal night or dress up night? And which night of the cruise was it on? TYIA
I can pretty much guarantee u it will cost u more than 800 dollars to be resuscitated. That's not gonna count the meds and equipment they use. Just to do a 12 lead ekg and dr to interpret is 89 dollars. My last cruise in 2007 was on carnival. Ended up with flu temp 103 on Friday before our cruises ended on Saturday. It was my bday and I was put on quarantine. I was a registered nurse at the time (retired now) and told dr that I had flu. When I explained I was a nurse he gave me a professional courtesy visit. We figured it up, the bill would have been around 500 dollars if he hadn't did that. If u want a quick way to get off the ship, tell the custom guy when he asks what u want to declare u say a bottle of champagne and the flu...he couldn't get me out of there fast enough...lol. Now I tell people to take Clorox wipes into ports and wipe down any mats u may use to lay in the ocean. I'm sure that's how I got sick.
Thanks for sharing your experience. Can't say we've had the same (hopefully we won't) but hard to say how things have changed over the last 16 years or so. Solid advice about the sanitizing wipes. Prevention goes a long way, no doubt.
We are regular NCL Haven guests since 2014 Breakaway Encore Escape Bliss Prima And Joy * We were booked on the Encore when the pandemic caused the cancellation of our cruise without refund. When NCL resumed the Encore was replaced by the Joy. I knew that the Joy was built for the Far East Chinese cruise market and it was a disaster for NCL, NCL had to send the Joy back to Europe and refurbish it for the American and Western European cruises. I wasnt happy at the ship change but had little choice Of all the Breakaway or Breakaway plus class ships we have been on the Joy was the worst. Headroom in the showers are low and at 6'2 I barely made it, , no steam or saunas in the Haven, Haven suites spread out around the ship. No spa suites. and imo the ship looked a bit worn compared to her Sisters. Now that Joy trip was in July 2021 and I have read that the Joy has been again sent to be refurbish and redesigned. But of all the Breakaways Id avoid the Joy if possible. * Not by choice
Good insights, thanks for sharing! We weren't as impressed with the Joy as we were with the Encore. If we sail with Norwegian again we'll likely avoid the Joy.
NCL has a pretty relaxed dress code. They do their best to specify in the restaurant description or on signage outside the restaurant what the expected attire is. Shorts are usually ok with a fee exceptions. That varies widely by cruise line though.
We cruised on the joy in November and absolutely loved everything about it
So glad to hear it! Curious to see what the opinions are after the coming refurb!
Thanks for the tour. Looking forward to seeing everything on the ship for our Mother’s Day trip!
Oh that'll be lovely! So soon, too. Have a wonderful cruise!
Excellent overview of the ship. Great job!
Thanks for saying so! If you haven't been on the Joy before we hope you find it helpful in the future!
This was a great walking tour! Such a beautiful ship. Good to know about the fish on the carpet. 🐟. Thank you ! 😊
Glad you enjoyed it! Hope it helps if you find yourself on the Norwegian Joy or Encore!
@@ThisHappyPlaceTravel Going on the Joy on the 23 rd 😃
Love your ship tours!!
Will be filming another one this week! 😁
Hello, is there a basketball court on the Norwegian Joy?
There is not, according to the deck plans. www.ncl.com/cruise-ship/joy/deck-plans
@@ThisHappyPlaceTravel Ah man that is disappointing. Thank you for answering my question!

Our formal night was on the evening of Day 2. It's absolutely not required on NCL, but lots of people participate. Have a wonderful cruise!
American diner will be complementary in 2024
It's true! We didn't eat there so can't really speak to quality or experience. What are your thoughts?
@@ThisHappyPlaceTravel I will let you know after my cruise in March
@@Dolphinsfan1981are you going to be in match 1st sailing?

dress codes when it comes to shorts are so weird
