I have such a scooter since 1999 and now are 60000 on the speedometer numerator. You need a good repair shop and you have to take care of the scooter regularly (me: once a month) and so you can use it until 100000 kilometers or more!
Upgrade the CDI, Get your self a nice exhaust, Change the variator, belt and rollers to a pollini kit with 8g rollers, change your clutch to one that engages at a higher rpm, and change your torque spring, it's a big spring thats behind the clutch bell, get bigger jets put in the carb, and a 70cc polini big bore kit and get it put on a dyno so the finer carb adjustments can be made! My 56 plate x8r-s was crazy after this! Off the clock speed down hill and 50mph + on flats
i got my 02 reg X8Rs last month and im in love with it! great quality bike, im going to put a de-restricted leo vince tt exhaust on her and that should bring the speed off the clock, great bike and itsd a shame there arent more of them about!
No problems buddy, you're gonna find out a lot more over the years, everyone starts fresh, and after some time gathers a lot of knowledge. My advice to you is,tinker with it when it breaks down, don't get it to a shop, two strokes are amazing to learn on,very user friendly :) That being said,I still hope it never breaks down and you,and may you do many a mile withouth a fall or a broken bone :) Enjoy your 'ped!
its on Y reg, and only done short of 4000 miles. i once saw one of these getting a MOT, where i get my bikes fixed, and it had done 27,000 miles. i had a Honda SFX - which is basically the same. exhaust baffles went at 5000 miles. the baffles were made of fabric. which chocked up the whole system
nice video as yours is in really good condition how many miles are on the clock and how much did you pay for it where did you get it from how can you increase speed but keeping it the same eg taking limiting ring out of exhaust
I have an "02" reg x8r in bright yellow but you have to put the right rollers in to make it go its go a gianelli exhaust but only goes 35 mph very reliable and what do you all reckon mpg is? and nice rossi bike!
they stopped making them in 2003 and they made loads more than a 100, ive got 2, ones blown up (derestricted it n went 63mph) and my other one runs really nice and is restricted to 30mph. never ever use a pressure washer on your bike!!!!!
Ellis Wyatt to get the Max out of it you'll need a sport exhaust, racing cdi, racing variator. There are sites that are focus directly at x8r tuning mods.
Pit some WD40 on the lock and key,and then put it in,back out,in back out (basically key-lock sex) a couple of times,it will go smoothly after that. The pins stop being lubricated after some time, that's why it doesn't go smoothly.
Don't shine to the haters, bro. Delete their comments and block them. Simple. Also, how old are you? 16? It's a 50CC? Also, what bike you planning on getting when you're 17?

Yeah they are great bikes, but I prefer not many of them being around, makes them more unique:)

The L plate is a legal requirement in the uk to drive a moped unless you have full licsence
Thanks man ;)
To make yours go faster you will probably need to change the whole variation, the stock one is too small, and I would guess about 100 mpg, thanks bud
The best scooter. Had one but got robbed on it..
looks mint :-)
Hi mate, lovely bike is it de-restricted?
Okay:D
