Walt clearly had the pizza too close to Skyler so she couldn’t smell the mouthwash or after shave. His plan to win her back truly would’ve worked otherwise
I am not sure if it was intentional but I like to think Jesse still kinda cares about his parents and doesn't want to rip them off too badly. In the first season when he was getting kicked out, he talked that their deal was they will sell the house and split the money 50/50. The parents asked for 875 and he gave them 400 which is around 50.
9:49 when you change the phone's language, it often cut some large words. Even nowadays smartphones' interfaces cut words or makes buttons bigger, in the end is more confortable use it in english if you know the languaje, and the primos clearly s̶p̶e̶a̶k̶ understand english.
There's a deleted scene for this episode of Saul trying to convince Walt to get back in the game, and he mentions having gone through three marriages, and living in the exact apartment complex that Walt is! Better Call Saul spoilers below: He must've moved in after Kim left, before he got the Sand Piper settlement money and bought the crazy house we see in season six. Jimmy does a Chicago sunroof to get back at Chet for sleeping with his wife, and then we see just about everything after that and the only other marriage he has is with Kim. Going by "three marriages", Kim is his third marriage, the one that slept with Chet is his second, and an unknown is his first. He gets arrested and saved by Chuck when he's 32, so that does leave plenty of time for those two marriages in Cicero.
09:50 my understanding is that phones comes with english as the default language so the need to change the UI isn't really there because they understand english
The phone UI being in english makes sense when you consider this might be another throwaway phone, which they may have bought in America together with a bunch of others in bulk. They would probably not manually change the language on every single one

The whole Walter White pizza thing is also a nod to The Sopranos. Where Tony has a similar scene with his wife. But instead, taking the pizza and leaving with it in peace. I don't know if it's intentional, but It might be! :D
I’ve been anxiously waiting for this. I always find it sad to see the episodes where Skyler kicks Walt out because I feel bad for JR. Saul helping Jesse get revenge on his parents is sweet. 🍕 🍕 🍕
I think this episode is the perfect place to pick up from after Better Call Saul. It frames Saul as a major character. And you pointed out all the extra Cartel connections too, makes the ties even stronger.
Yes!! And as DreadIntoIt pointed out, Saul being concerned in his car after talking to Walt (because he was worried about Skyler snitching) could be reinterpreted as him thinking about his own divorce from Kim.
@@betterwatchtv The scene where Saul negotiates to buy Jesse's house from the Pinkmans is also works perfectly with his BCS backstory - you can just imagine that smug establishment councilor as a stand-in for Chuck and you can see some Jimmy in his performance, he drops the clown act for a minute and takes pure joy in dismantling him.
Mike always gets such rad tracks backlining his appearances when he's doing some sneaky recon ninja spy mission stuff. The tune that plays in Better Call Saul S1E7 "Bingo", the song "Tune Down". So gangster. Also, the song that plays in Breaking Bad when he goes to the chemical supplier after the cartel has started messing w/ Fring in S3E13 "Full Measure" when he lets the mylar balloons go up into the power lines to cause them to shut off and then he ninja's his way into the chemical supplier to talk to Chow, who is being held hostage by the cartel goons. Thank you for your hidden details videos! Since you mentioned _this_ episode is the debut of Saul’s white Cadillac DeVille, that has me thinking about Drew Sharp who went missing in White Horse- that must also be where the train robbery took place.
2:17 Saul talking to Walt about moving on and living to fight another day hits so much stronger after BCS since Jimmy lost everything he ever had including having to move on from a divorce from the love of his life.
I think one possible explanation for Victor being a middle man of Gus and Mike is that possibly Mike stepped down in his roles for Gus for a while. In the flashback in 6x11 of BCS it seems that Mike was at least putting in a solid amount of time for Saul instead of Gus, so perhaps while things were more quiet on the drug front, Mike was doing very little/nothing for Gus, and as such felt it best to respect the hierarchy and call Victor
I remember a behind the scenes scene, where Walt is at his door with Sky and she grabs the bag of dipping sticks. 😂😂. Well done Man! Loved your video, thanks for another episode. EXCELENTE! (excellent!)
Good question! I never really thought about “what are they being dipped in?” My assumption is they’re cheesy breadsticks that you dip in marinara sauce!
Everyone talks about this episode for the pizza but Saul buying the house for Jesse is my favourite from the entire series. I love how it perfectly sums up Saul. He lets everyone think he is a joke, lets them scoff at him and look down their nose at him and feel superior then when he's given them enough rope he reveals he's much, much smarter than them and was 3 steps ahead the whole time.
