Hello from Seattle USA. I am an Aussie over here. Amazing fabrication on both Cortinas. You have talent, don’t sell yourself short on what you are doing. I have been around building cars all my life. I remember when TC and TD Cortinas were new. Cheers.
100% mate.. I find it very satisfying and rewarding.. even if I wanted the car and had the money to pay someone.... I honestly don't think I would.. be nice to just be able fo order stuff needed straight away though 😂
Hi, don't be too hard on yourself mate, you're work ethic and what you have achieved is amazing keep up the good work regards from Scotland 👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴
Hello mate. I’m an engine man I loved building my old cosworth engines back in the day. Your engine is fantastic I absolutely love the way you’ve adapted the inlet manifold etc. well done mate 👏🏻👌🏻
Thanks mate I appreciate the comments.. The idea of the inlet has been on my mind for years but always using another motor other than the pinto.. so it wasn't till I was cleaning up one day I thought I would hold a pinto gasket upto the Nissan inlet...... 1 common hole was all I needed. I've enjoyed the whole process even with its ups and downs.... got it running yesterday morning again..
Wow I did the same to my 2 door English Mk3 Cortina. I didn’t like the sloping dash much and plus the switches didn’t work properly so I fitted the dash out of a Mk5 Cortina so I could have the centre heater vents as well as the round vents
😂 I was the opposite I wanted the shopping dash in my other mk3 so I cut it out of this one ..and then when I decided to keep this I had to put the mk3 4 5 normal dash in..
@@BUILT_BY_ME Mk3 and 4 are the same Mk5 is different because it has the square heater vents in the middle so I fitted it to my Mk3. I wanted those square vents in my Mk3
cheers mate... it turned out so much better than I thought... and tried to find a seat the same colour and couldn't.... then I was getting some steel from the rafters in the garage and there was the base of a seat sitting with some other parts.....
😂.. 6 cylinder mk3 is my dream mk3..we didn't get many here in NZ so I've had to build mine.. and once this one is done I'll get back into working on it for sure... I actually can't wait
My father had a mk3 GXL ghia in matalic with velvet interior in 1982 it also had a front splitter which was very rear in those days .in the early 80s people used to lift the rear high with wide wheel and lower front with side exist exhaust like a Shelby cobra. Your car is very nice you should do a 4g63 turbo swap .
Send some mates over to help me with my Mk3 project I’m trying to do it myself but haven’t got very far with a small and damp garage I’m in Wellington 😊
😂 sorry can't help there mate.. must admit having a large dry work area helps...I'm down in chch and we have had great weather up until now... and it will soon be winter man ...no fun for a damp garage. I've got a goal of having this legal this year and the cert wait is over 6 months..... all I do mate is just make a list and try and tuck something off as often as possible..... not allways easy I know
yes the motor in there is completely standard..(just guick rebuild with ARP head studs) it's just to get it running and tuned and hopefully last long enough to iron out cremlins. but I have another motor I'm building with high volume high pressure oil pump, forged rods, cosworth pistons, under piston oil squirter, big valves, ported head, and 9.1-1 CR
What a beautiful machine ! 😍 " I'm a FORD bloke mate " top job man I'd love a mk3 with a v8 in it Just found ur channel Well cool 😎 Do you know Pete from Cortina city ?? U tube him
Oh I know... but we didnt get 2doors unless imported and they are non existent to find now.. I did find someone with 2dr doors(no glass) 2dr rear 1/4 panels and a roof skin....all rust but I wasn't paying the 7 grand he wanted.... so 4dr it is lol
