I went to Mood Fabrics in Los Angeles, California to do some fabric shopping!!! I had a great time exploring the Mood Fabrics store. I had never been before, so I was super excited to go. There are so many beautiful sewing fabrics in Mood, and in this video I share many of the fabrics with you. After shopping at Mood, I decided to go to Michael Levine for more fabric shopping. I share what I purchased from Michael Levine and from Global International Fabric, a store in the LA Fashion District.

I really appreciate that you've shown a great overview of the store with a nice soundtrack. So many people would have tried to fill it up with so much chatter. Wow! Mood was aaaaa loooot!!!! I love fabric stores - they literally give me life. However, Mood's fabric was so stacked 😳 that just watching the video I couldn't appreciate the fabrics. No fault of yours. I still enjoyed the walk through all the stores. Thank you for the adventure.

Great video!! I’m so envious! One day I promise myself I’ll at least get to stroll through the isles of Mood too! Those price tags are out of my budget too! I’m also shocked! I thought Michael Levine’s was closed!!! I shopped their online store ALL THE TIME! Maybe they just closed online. Thank you for sharing this outing…I’m happy to know they’re still open and looking forward to visiting both stores sometime!

You are right. I think shopping with a plan is definitely the way to go, and having an idea of what you’re looking for would be ideal. I had no idea what the store would be like. The fabric was really pretty, and yes, there was a whole lot of it. You’re welcome. Thank you for watching.
Really surprised Michael Levine's LA store is still open. I used to order from them online but at the end of 2019, I got an email notification that they were closing their LA store. I also used to shop at Mood online and the last thing I brought from them a panel print. However, it turns out their panel prints aren't sold by the yard but rather by the number of reprints of the panel on the fabric lengthwise. I thought I was purchasing 4-yards but I was actually getting 1-yard which had the panel reprinted on it 4-times. I was very disappointed because I didn't have enough fabric to make anything.
Oh no. Wow. Thanks for sharing. I had no idea that was the case. That would be disappointing FOR SURE. Geez. I don’t think I’ve ordered from Mood online. I kind of feel like I may have once, but I can’t swear to it. I do love their fabric though.
I actually thought Michael Levine was closing too. I thought I would take my chances since I was nearby, and to my surprise, they were open. I’m hoping they stay around.

That Michael Levine fabric store looks awesome. I think I'd be in there all day LOL. I was so tickled that the guy at Global International cut the Fabrics without a cutting table. Can't wait to see what you make out of the Fabrics you got.👍🏾😊
Yes. I was surprised that the guy cut the fabric that way. I asked if he had a table, and nope. Lol. There was a lot of fabric to look through at Michael Levine. You could definitely be in there all day. Thank you so much. I will be sure to share whatever I make.
Hey there! I'm on vacation right now and I'm going to the district on Friday! Yay! Hopefully I'll find some good deals and prices. I went to Mood in NYC three years ago and I left with nothing because I wasn't ready for that! Lol. Too much to pick from and I was overwhelmed. I never knew octopuses had three hearts! Thank you for sharing! I plan to film my trip as well.
Yes!!!!! Enjoy your vacation and spending time with your son. It was nice going to the fashion district around this time because it wasn’t overcrowded. Hopefully it will still be that way on Friday when you go. I hope you find plenty of lovely fabric. Can’t wait to see your video. Mood was a learning experience for me. I had no idea what it was like, and like you said about the one in NY, I wasn’t ready. Lol. Great way to put it.
Mood is expensive. I Bly really shop there when I need something special. I did go to the NYC store several years ago and regretted not going in with a plan. There was so much. Global fabric was cool to see. I was amazed when he just measured and cut it where he was!

I would have to have a plan, otherwise I'd lose my mind and probably leave with nothing after petting all the fabrics! Loved the video but please pan more slowly next time.

You would love Mood. If I had to guess, I would say I was in there for about a half an hour.
I enjoy going to the fabric district in downtown L A. Remember you need to store the fabric. Girl, you forgot to ask for the fabric cardboard rolls that was sitting on the floor. LoL
The fabric district is definitely enjoyable. Lol. I could have used that cardboard roll. Lol. They probably would’ve given it to me no problem.
I thought Joanns was overwhelming with fabric. Too many choices in those stores!

Girl, do you ever buy or wear prints? I was watching this with my husband & I said, “I bet she buys a solid color fabric.” Was I right or what?. 😂 I visited Mood Fabric in December 2019 while on vacation and only bought 2 yards of a really bold & groovy print for $14/yd. I still haven’t sewn anything with it yet. I’m waiting until I’m more confident in sewing and the right pattern to use with it.
Lol. Hi, Lisa. Yes. You were right. I prefer solids. I have a few prints in my wardrobe, but more solids. Your bold and groovy print fabric sounds super cool. I admire prints on others, and I’m sure what you make will be fabulous!
@@Manecoarse my groovy print is a bright green, purple and white knit that looks like something one of the Brady Bunch girls would have worn. Too bad I can’t attach a picture. Perhaps I’ll DM you a pic on Instagram.

Omg. Lol. I hear ya!! 😂 The fabric was so so beautiful, and I could definitely see big bucks being spent in there, which is why I didn’t get anything. I will have to plan better if I go back. I had no idea, but it was a great field trip.
@@Manecoarse I haven't sewed since ninthteen, but I stockpile anything related to sewing. Never been in a Mood store, but I do navigate and has ordered from them. However, I am told by others that have visited their locations, that the internet has nothing compared to the physical location. I am sick of Joanne - the ONLY fabric store here. I usually go to the stores in ATL when visiting my children. Just to mention, you are familiar with me commenting in the past as Roberta Hall, that soon will go away once I get this site straight. I enjoy your videos just as I always have.

I’m glad that Mood has some fabric online that goes on sale. I don’t think I’ve ever purchased from Mood online, but maybe I will soon. I buy a lot of fabric from Joann and Hobby Lobby.

Mood is overpriced. I’ve been to the one in NYC. I prefer lesser known stores more value!
I know what you mean. The prices were definitely out of my budget, but I did enjoy ooooing and aaaahing over what I did see. Lol
