I am probably typing it in wrong, but I'm looking for a video on installing a bucket with the excavator including a thumb. I find aligning the thumb is quite difficult process, its also a machine around the size in this video. I find many videos but all the those excavators don't have have thumbs installed, and the ones that do are tiny excavators and/or quick hitches.

      Sounds great!
Thumb are very rare here in my loaction(JAVA), except on the forestry (In Borneo), they all mostly use thumb, and they don't use quick hitch, just hit with the hammer, install manually. Thank you James for watching my video, sorry for the late reply. Greeting from Java, Indonesia.

Oh dear! Has everyone forgotten how to change digger buckets? I could change that bucket in THREE minutes on my own! I will make a video and show how it should be done, WITHOUT a Quick-Hitch.

@@MrZygy3 I don't know if I will have access to a CAT in that time. ( I am a Machinery Trainer doing short courses on all types of Plant and Machinery all over Scotland and North England) Here is the procedure and you can try it your self. 1. Position the bucket or attachment you want to put on in a suitable position. 2. Lift the arm/boom/dipper so the bucket is about .5metre off the ground, and open it slightly so that the weight is carried on the front pin and the back pin is loose. 3. Remove the lock bolt/pin and push out the back pin. The bucket will now swing on the front pin. 4. Replace the back (which could be 50mm) with an alternative pin/shaft/pry-bar of about 25mm. 5. Start the engine and open the bucket to make the pry-bar carry the weight of the bucket. 6. You can now push out the front pin. (With practice you can do this without the bucket swinging too much). 7. Start the engine and now you can operate the ram to close the bucket, which will drop the bucket down. Place it on the ground till you can see the pry-bar is loose. 8. Remove the pry-bar. 9. Start the engine and operate the bucket ram to fully close it. 10 Position the dipper over the new bucket and close to where the pin should go. It does NOT have to be bang on. 11. Put the 25mm pry-bar through the bucket and dipper end hole. 12. Lift the bucket up till about .5metre off the ground, and extend the bucket ram till the tipping link holes are close to the holes in the back of the bucket. 13. After greasing the back pin, then you can easily push the pin in through the bucket and tipping link holes. You can easily swing the bucket to line up the holes as the Pry-bar is carrying the weight. 14. Start the engine and operate the bucket ram to open the bucket until you see the Pry-bar is loose. If you can move the dipper out till the tipping link is vertical this will help. 15. After greasing the front pin, you can now push it easily in to the full position through the bucket and the end of the dipper arm. 16. Replace the lock bolts or pins. Job Done! I have timed myself to type this and it took half an hour. Once you have practiced this it shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. The key to the procedure is having a Pry-bar or suitable lever/shaft that is smaller than the main pins. When you see that then the job is a doddle. Try it your self. It will take a few goes to get quick at it, but it can be almost as quick as using a Quick-coupler. Good luck.
