Ikoxun’s guide to everything you need to know before knitting video on TH-cam is very insightful. Literally picked up knitting after struggling to find content for knitting and I am currently working on her sweater tutorial.
The Tote bag is sooooo cute! Since the reason you don't like it is because it droops I think that you should do two large rectangles for the main parts, and then 1 long rectangle for the sides and bottom. So basically what you did but opposite. Idk if that made any sense, but I tried. 😢
Hi! It's my first time commenting on here but maybe this will be helpful. I'm not sure if you already thought about that or not. If you don't like the way the bottom of the bag is stretching and "falling", you can add lining! From any non-stretchy fabric you find pretty. It would keep the bag in the desired shape when you're putting things in it. It takes some time, but it's definitely worth it! And I'm speaking from experience :D
omg i love all your videos so much, one of your old videos inspired me to crochet a star blnaket, which i entered into my local summer carnival show and won! i love you so much your so amazing. im sat studying for exams and the only thing holding me together is your videos!!!! love you so much kamryn
i’d definitely suggest circular needles for knitting and which ones work for you varies depending on the person. its not cheap and you need a lot more tools! its worth it though and sm fun
Girl I’m telling you knitting is so fun! I started with crochet and got into knitting and I’m hooked ;) It was definitely a learning curve 😅I wanted to quit soooo many times but just pull through :)) I think you will love it 😊💖
I bought a $20 set of interchangeable needles last year and they are my favorite set of needles! You don’t need a whole kit. Get one set of interchangeable needles and that’s pretty much all you need as someone who already crochets
As a Knitter and Crocheter, get a set of interchangeable knitting needles. I have some from Prym, and they're very high quality. They're more on the expensive side, but they're so worth it.
That bag looks so cozy its making me want to make a blanket, that topo is soo flowy and cutee I love it so muchhh but the cat beanie is my favorite gonna make it asappp after I choose a good color combo 💛💛
Me too I started with the knitting and I used to make simple things like a big square and I made a dress or tops then I move to looming then I learn how to crochet this year now Im addicted to it
I love these videos I thought it was an old one at first but then realized it was only poster 30 minutes ago. I'm crochet a skirt rn while watching this
I literally went through the exact same journey! I started knitting in elementary school and never made anything other than a scarf, and only began crocheting years later. I was intimidated to start knitting again, but like you said, I like how it looks more sometimes! After much trial and error, I recommend starting with a bulky yarn and around 7mm to 9mm needles (US size is not the same as mm, I made that mistake one too many times...) I personally like wooden needles the best, and they aren't too expensive if you get one size. I would recommend getting circular needles because they come in handy when you want to make larger projects and they prevent stitches from slipping off as easily, but I don't think it makes much of a difference in the beginning. As a starting project, I'd recommend a scarf or simple hat, but honestly some sweaters can be made with just rectangles too so once you get the hang of it it's not that hard! Tank tops and sweater vests are also good projects to make early on. There are lots of sites with free patterns too, like Yarnspirations, Love Crafts, and sometimes even the yarn brands themselves. Once you get more comfortable, you can look into interchangeable knitting needles, but personally I made the mistake of buying a large set even though I usually only use three or four sizes. There are also so many great TH-camrs who have tutorials, patterns, and tips (I watch Tiffany Liew, Ikoxun, AmazingishGrace, Jenna Phipps, but there are soooo many others) Sorry this is so long but I hope it helps! From my experience, it was definitely not as hard as I thought it was. You got this!
Omg Kamryn I love you this is my 5th time commenting but I can’t help it lol your vids inspire me so much and I just want you to know I’m very grateful that I was able to find someone as amazing as you you inspire a lot of people and I hope you know that I’m going to do a Christmas market and I think that you helped me make that decision because how much you inspire me❤❤❤
The beginner tote bag crochet tutorial by crochet pink pumpkin on youtube is a great video that shows you a way to make the bag without it stretching! You can basically pair the blanket yarn with a strand of variegated yarn to spice it up! This video made me laugh a lot esp with your bf haha

I purchased brand new knitting needles on mercari it's like thrifting but online. The sweetest sellers are on there and the deals are very reasonable.
