Thanks for the review. In my new climate, the small ones seem to do well. They’re larger and they tend to resist splitting. Figoin is still on the cutting block though. I’ll give it one more year. I do think it needs more heat as it was better in TN than in SB

Its a very sweet berry fig for me. Its a keeper here. Also very unique from other figs. I love its uniqueness.

@@AM-lz2jr - I know a lot of people love it. The small figs don’t generally work in my climate.

I had basically the same opinion on this one last year. In its 2nd season, it was putting out tiny, almost ridiculous sized figs. Like 10 grams. They were pretty good, but nothing great. This year, mine has completely changed. It is now putting out somewhat larger (between small and the lower side of medium ) sized figs, that are all consistently jamy and excellent tasting. I would bet the climate is definitely affecting them differently, as mine are all plump and very juicy. It has been one of my more productive figs this year. Definitely a keeper for me now. Mine have all been slow growers for the first year or so, more affected by fmv than other varieties. Maybe that makes it take a bit longer to come into its own, or its just a climate difference

@@kevinquinlanphoto - Thanks for your comments Kevin. I am going to cull this variety as I think there are so many better choices in my climate. I did end up throwing the remainder of the crop away. I’m glad it became better for you this year.
This is another reason that it pays to listen to local growers as figs are “location specific”.
I am seriously working on getting down to twenty pots. My results with this variety are making it easier to fine tune my potted collection.

@oregonfigs3314 wow, it must have been bad if you were throwing it away
