Oscar Wild is one of my favorite writers BUT I cannot agree with his interpretation of the soul .. soul is immortal thing and it is responsible for our spiritual life which mostly consists of beautiful moral values, so , in this sense, soul , even without a heart, which is just the part of our physical body, should not be capable of doing something wrong ...
It is a curious story and a little sad story. And it is not so easy to understand. I did not understand everything because of a lack of vocabulary in a part and because why was the soul so cruel without a heart, and the fisherman with heart by the child and the merchant. I think the last chapter said, that all of the creatures belong to god's world. I don't know if i am right.

I think priest went sea coz he finally realised that God didn't punish the two couples but blessed. Since the fragrance of perfume from those flowers was the real evidence of this thing that God blessed them. So at last, priest went sea and blessed everything at there and the nearby. Also, he former thought that mermaid was not good and criticised every little creature over there but when he understood , he blessed.
Read with the patience 😌: I loved how this story opens with the opposite situation to Hans Christian Andersen's 'Little mermaid🧜🏽♀️' . And the witch loves him too. And there we got a gay lover - the soul, lover of body; for the need of heart pump. I also liked the "shadow=soul" hypothesis to make our soul visible and inseparable one. {In the midtime I recalled the shodow of shadow fight 2.😋} But I felt pity when it neglected the wisdom and riches And found its enjoyment in evils The same, when we don't focus in good and enjoy the dark, our soul gets used to it and finds satisfaction there. I adorably astonished when the shadow succeeded to bring him out of sea by tempting to the foot of a dancer. I also loved how the gayish shadow-cum-soul badly wanted to be reunited with the body in the heart-inn. The priest character was also strong And finally learnt to love. But one of the most boring parts was the death of the so-called 'little mermaid', she have been a passive character since her marriage kiss. Overall, Oscar Wilde is one the best gems of literature, who showed us the guts of recreating Hans' "soul-less merfolk theory" and introducing the "shadow=soul hypothesis" ❣️
