- I brought a 4 wt. Streamlight Ultra II L.L.Bean Fly Rod with me on the 30 day Survival Challenge In hops of using it to catch trout out of some of the Streams up here in the Rockies. I never thought I'd catch my personal best trout on an ultralight fly rod. Its been almost 20 years since it tied the flies i brought on this trip and i haven't used the fly in about that same amount of time. I did manage to catch five beautiful pink trout at the glacial lake the first time I got this fly rod out during this adventure. But I'll attempt at catching some of these bigger trout failed due to excessive amounts of wind on the lake or a lack of interest on the flyers I kept presenting to these larger cutthroat trout. Today all that changed and I managed to catch us a good trout for cooking and keeping your energy up.

Branch breaking is almost one of the reasons why I immediately click and watch Zach's videos, apart from the awesome morning coffee preparations and the adventures of course.

If an emergency happened it is better to be some what close to the truck
The lake is in a national park and you can't do that. They setup camp on public land and hike to the lake in the park.

I first saw his (Oven's) video on Liveleak catching fish with a mouse trap last night. clicked the TH-cam link and I got hooked instantly and slept few hours last night and back on it again today. I'm watching every episode and I'm on E24 now. I subscribed.
I'm watching every episode. That's a $50 fish. The others are probably $20 to $30 each at least. More if you include the roe. I know they haven't been this big the whole time but still, you guys are eating hundreds, if not over a thousand, dollars worth of the freshest, biggest, cleanest trout on the planet. You guys are living.
Watching every episode! Table was a neat idea the chess set fun, I made two knights and a bishop and decided not to carve a detailed set after seeing some turd whip out an entire set on his lathe in 20 minutes and detail the knights queens kings and rooks in another 40 minutes. LOTR already sells their sets and Star Wars too, so what could I make that I could....ok, so I am jealous you just did it and I didn’t even think about making tiny pieces with green wood. I was gonna be jealous you split the table top so nicely until you tried to make a paddle, you’d be jealous of my paddle making skills and the versatility of mine, you can not only paddle a boat but your children, wife, xwife girlfriend, husband, grandpa, onery people of all persuasions and wack a mole or even a gopher in the Canadian Rockies....what’d I tell you.

I remember my good friends’ brothers building an enorMous tree fort in the woods.. like yours only 100 times bigger, it even had a toilet .. (a bucket with the tire on the top). Such a solid tree shelter you two completed

Glad you finally got your big poppa on the fly rod. That’s one type of fishing I’ve never tried (that and ice fishing because it’s rare you have a frozen over lake in the Deep South)

With my luck, I have a hard time finding worms when I'm out in the woods for some reason, but when I turn over a rock I can count on one of them flat millipede things with the long antenna, and I ain't touching one of them, they may be great bait, but you can have them. I have laid here, in the bed, for almost one and one-half years. I am a poor man who saved...I take NO gov't money. As I watch some camp videos I can relate to almost all of it, that's why I enjoy this sort of content.
I have that same lure, my girlfriends dad gave it to me, has to be close to 40 years old. I believe it came in a Sears fishing tackle box. Still works and catches fish
